  1. The brassy/gold finish to the mounting brackets on the trigger would tell me it's probably a very early Springer Custom trigger (what spec exactly I have zero idea, they're just the only one I know of that finish the mounts with that colouring/material/finish). Equally as much trying to piece it togther, the signature might suggest Dan (fka 'Sniper Mechanic') may have done some work on it, I know he;s been a fan of the Springer Custom triggers for a long time so I'm purely putting 2 and 2 together with a partially educated guess... whether that gives you 4 I couldn't say for sure. Might be worth reaching out to Dan on the off chance he recognises it, I've hyperlinked his Instagram earlier in this reply as that tends to be the best place to get him. As for the heavy pull, chances are it's just a juicy spring to get the power up, we haven't always been so fortunate with the likes of the Rapax springs etc. As @rocketdogbert says, without further details it's hard to give much of an appraisal outside of a boneyard. Hopefully some of the information I've given can assist in getting a more accurate spec sheet leading to an accurate valuation.
  2. What seems to be the natural evolution of the fabled ‘Blood Diamond carbine’, the Gordy carbine. The MWS has never looked so good. (I know the grip isn’t accurate, I value my wrists more than I do any degree of ‘clone accuracy’!)
  3. At the risk of suggesting something so stupid and obvious, have you contacted the place you picked it up from? While aware repairs may well not be/likely won’t be free/covered by any store warranty fingers crossed the issue can be properly diagnosed and amended. Not to discredit what anyone is saying, but from what I gather you’ve had a few stabs at it yourself and the results haven’t worked out for whatever reason. Definition of insanity as credited to Einstein etc etc. At the very least it saves your having to source parts.
  4. I’d probably give gluing the nut in a place a shot before spending out for a new lower. Slap some JB Weld (or whatever your super strong choice of swaz may be) on the edges of the nut which contact the notch, then feed the grip on slightly and start threading the bolt on. This should ensure you’re lined up, once the adhesive has cured pop the grip all the way on and see how happy you are. Obviously you could just slap a heap of glue on the lot and slam the grip all the way on, but I suspect that grip is essentially a permanent addition at that point.
  5. This is largely what I’ve run for the last few months, can’t see it changing any time soon. I generally prefer my RG UF Pros across the board to the M81 Cryes… but M81 is M81.
  6. I've had ranging from the 500 mark up to perhaps 3000ish, having gone through probably 4 of them. Too wide a range without enough of a sample size to present anything other than anecdotal evidence, but at £13-15 a pop I just never felt like I was getting great value out of what is ultimately a consumable part.
  7. Aye, performance has never been an issue with the Modify tans. The durability on the other hand… for a bucking as costly as they are I struggle to justify how long they survive on average.
  8. I have no first hand experience but I know through a combination of anecdotal evidence from friends that G&P parts are usually a great fit without the need for dicking about. An example of said evidence can be found here. Though no longer actively taking part in the hobby Rob ahs a lot of experience with the MWS and the variety of good and not so good replica parts to go on them so his word is pretty reliable. While not the SPR kit the MRE kit is similar in terms of included components. The standout quote from the article being: 'The build has been fairly straightforward other than going on a G&P part number odyssey to try and track down some of these older parts. Speaking of G&P, overall their parts have fitted the MWS with no issues whatsoever and I would wholeheartedly reccomend any of their products that I have used.' Not a first hand account, and as always to be taken with a pinch of salt as QC in airsoft is such a mixed bag... but hopefully somewhat useful nonetheless.
  9. As I'm sure you can imagine, very jealous of the Ferro one. Superb haul bud, hope you had a great time!
  10. Picked up the KTAR front flap for some added security with MWS mags, landed some sweet Shot Show goodies in the process.
  11. Quick maths says a 250mm stock barrel sits fairly flush with the 10.5" CQBR outer barrel, so you'll be looking at the 275mm range for the inner if you're adding an inch to the outer and want the inner 'flush'.
  12. Haha, it's about time they had something useful in stock 👀.
  13. For those that have been struggling to find Gun Sav, you're welcome. (Note, price is excluding VAT which is added at checkout.)
  14. Had my first game of the year yesterday at Coms Site 3. It was... fine? First game and a half I was dicking around with my TAC getting everything tuned in properly and had a few nice shots. Ultimately landed on want to be a bit more active (and the 'suspect sportsmanship' was catching like wildfire... more on that later) so swapped over to the MWS. Or at least had planned to, it wasn't enjoying the temperature much so I dipped back into the boot and begrudgingly dragged the NGRS out for the rest of the day. Not sure why it was begrudgingly mind, always performs really well and is yet to let me down but alas, it wasn't my first pick. I am not, and hope to never be one for cheat calling or getting riled by supposed cheats. I've been playing far too long for it to bother me much at this point, but ohh boy was a this a day for allegations. Allegations from all over the place which ultimately led to a pretty hostile atmosphere from both sides and put a bit of a dampner on the day. Nevertheless I managed to sneak (read as, charge straight at without them noticing me) behind a chap taking cover behind a barricade and have a rare 'ok, so where is the most humane place to shoot this poor sod' moments (said poor sod had 4-5 folks moaning he wasn't taking their hit, can confirm they took that one). Definitely a personal highlight. Always nice to give new kit a run out, never been a big fan of UBACS so gave the Velocity rugby shirt a go. Definitely glad I picked up two, I imagine I'll be getting some more.
  15. Fancied one of these since they were released after thoroughly enjoying the SRS, been gradually building up bits for it for the last few months and finally found the time to throw it all together. Also got some new additions for the PC. Ferro Concepts Kangaroo Front Flap with a quad SMG turnover in it for running pistol mags when using the TAC (and eventually MP7 mags should I ever pull the trigger on picking one up) and a SORD TED which I love. Used it in my last game of last year, much prefer it to a rear belt mounted dump pouch.
  16. I’ve heard two different ones, though both refer to the same thing. Either ‘top dead centre’ or ‘top down centre’, essentially you drill a small section out of the outer barrel and run some sort of bolt through that hole which applies pressure directly to your hop arm. Truthfully I fear we might already be past how much thought you’ve put into what exactly it is you want to be achieving. In no way am I intending to dissuade you, but I get the impression that an opportunity for a cheap RIF has come up and that’s now pretty rapidly growing into something else. Seems to me you think FPS (‘power’) is the be all and end all, which it absolutely isn’t. This isn’t exact at all because we want everything to be working together but as an extremely simple breakdown of what’s doing what: Stronger spring = Higher FPS/Joules = BBs get where they’re going faster Heavier weight BBs + Better hop setup + Clean barrel = Longer range + More consistency Selecting the correct spring ideally needs the hop setup and BB weight settled on and installed, otherwise you may well end up at risk of hurting someone with a RIF running above the joules it should be (I’m not going to go into depth on what joule creep is, a Google search will get you there if you care to know… much like it would have for what a TDC mod is FWIW).
  17. Main thing you loose with a clone is the half decent QA Marui do, but if you’re ripping all of those parts out then you’re paying extra for no reason. When it comes to bolties the only upgrade I’d put down as a performance increase is a TDC modification to the hop, simply ensures you can use higher weight ammo (0.45g or 0.48g) with better consistency. Outside of that swapping parts is often more a matter of longevity rather than an increase in performance or to make them quieter etc, not actually making your BB go any further or any more accurately. It’s at least worth noting there is a degree of diminishing returns when it comes to throwing money at a bolt action rifle shaped wall. You could get that TM L96 running at 500fps simply by swapping the spring out, but I imagine those internals would shit the bed long before they would have at stock FPS. To sum up, it’ll wind up as expensive as you want it to either way. My advice is to consider how much you’re planning to use the thing and go from there. If you use it most weekends for the whole day then go nuts, gut the whole thing and ‘enjoy’ the process of fettling all the aftermarket parts to get them singing together. If you’re only going to use it now and then (or have never tried the whole ‘sniping’ thing before) clean the barrel, slap a TDC on it and put a spring in that gets you at the joules you want to be at with the ammo weight you’ll be using and call it a day there. In either case, the clone VSR is a better choice in my eyes simply on availability of parts.
  18. Had a great tail end of this year having started a new job that I love and just generally being in a really good place. Treated myself to a new bolty (a habit I'll seemingly never kick) having been gradually gathering parts for it over the last few months. Looking forward to getting back to it in the New Year having not been to a game since early November. Hope you all enjoy tonight whatever it is you wind up doing!

  19. If it's comfy then it's comfy, but it looks like you're riding a little low with the PC there. Obviously no important for anything other than looks, but 🤷‍♂️. I know they're very much a marmite thing, but I hope you get on with the helmet 👌.
  20. It's all part of the hobby nowadays, unless all sites are starting to put matching limits on it I don't think it makes a huge amount of difference... especially if the intent is to favour newer players. All it stands to do is give them an unrealistic idea of what's out there. Sure this site in particularly might become somewhat of a safe haven for them, but I can't see a single site maintaining folks interest for too long. It's almost like shielding the new folks from what regular game days are like, and setting expectations outside of where they probably should be for folks that might ultimately be looking to invest in a new hobby. I don't really see much of a point of sites being overly controlling over what folks use, as long as it's safe. And that's ultimately when lines should be looking at being drawn, not because a few newbies heads are dropping because they don't think their rental gnus are keeping up... because lets face it, rental gnus only just about keep up with other rental gnus. And besides, most sites struggle to wrap their heads around chronoing properly in a timely fashion let along adding RoF checking into the mix. In terms of actual advice, I wouldn't dick about making any site rules around it. Just take it up with individuals if you feel they've got something excessive going on. Most RIFs running a high RoF have a way of adjusting it fairly easily, be that an FCU for HPA or a MOSFET in an AEG. If they refuse then it's up to the site owners how they wish to proceed.
  21. Might be worth changing the thread title, as others have mentioned the post in no way says 2000 were taken… it’s actually alarmingly loose in general in terms of detail on quantity. No wonder at all that many of our minds jump to ‘I wonder what media will make of this’ if we’re being equally as… ‘lax’ when parsing the information presented.
  22. Angry Gun are a company I avoid like the plague nowadays for anything other than flash hiders. Not sure I’d entrust my hard earned to a company that struggle so much with basic parts to get an upper receiver right and not have it entirely knacker the performance with everything being misaligned and snagging. Even had that not been the case I was, or rather am, after the A2 carry handle rather than the A1. But yeah, I hope it works out well for those looking forward to it. As for spare uppers, I wish you the best of luck. I’d been on the hunt for ages, tried contacting numerous companies (Impulse101 included) and none of them were able to source one. I snapped one up that went up for sale on here some time back and popped myself in the queue for the graft… which has been about 3 months or so now. I was quoted a 4 month wait so fingers crossed I’ll be getting contacted before long.
  23. I tend to keep everything un-'weathered'/painted until I know I'm definitely keeping things given how much doing the aforementioned hurts the price if I come to sell, I imagine this'll be much the same.
  24. It's a very cyclic hobby in terms of trends. We're gradually transitioning out of Mk18's being the 'go to' with Mk16's on the way in, give it a few years and Mk18's will have a renewed 'old school cool' factor and folks will be clamouring for decent versions of the rail... much like they are for carry handle uppers now... just as Multicam/MTP is the new DPM. I definitely think things like the Unity mounts are partially to blame, optics on stilts is just so much comfier... slapping them back on a carry handle is the next logical leap to putting them even higher. But yeah, I've never been one for trying for 100% accurate clones as you've alluded to I very much like my wrists functioning after a day of playing!
