The old one from my MWS has 2 ridges, probably 5years old. Will check the newer ones I can check later in the week.

Where did you get that from mate? Impulse?
Had a couple spare, possibly from Impulse101 last year.

Hello ! I'm new to GBBR. I got 1 question.
I want to run green gas in my MWS. What do I need to do/upgrade and/or be wary of ?
Thank you in advance !Have a spare nozzle spring as these can fatigue and break. Eagle6 has videos on how to disassemble/ reassemble.
A spare nozzle is also handy to have, TM, G&P or Dynamic Precision seem the most reliable.
Dab of loctite on the Phillips screw at the end of the buffer tube, you will need a long screwdriver.
Welcome to the MWS club!

Make sure those gas routes do not sit taller than the TM ones as the will put strain on the nozzle, this and QC variances will be why you have higher and or varying FPS.
Replaced the two lower ones and all at the same fps now.
Old ones were pretty worn (5+ years use and a couple had small rips in them) Bolt slides smoothly over them with no hang-up and cycles and loads ok.
Compared to mag #7 (purchased last year and only used a couple of times) the Guarder are the same size…just not as knackered as the other 6 mags worth!

Guarder
Now replaced all gas routers and two of the mags are well below the others on fps (230-235 vs 243-253)
Need to try the two spare routers I have to see if that brings them all in line. I don’t mind a few FPS difference between mags but 25fps is a bit much and might make chronoing tricky! (Make sure I use the “faster” mags!)

Just out of curiosity which brand of gas routers did you buy?
Guarder

Replaced the gas router on one of my mags, I bought them second hand 3 years ago and they had been well used so probably due replacement. I chronographed the gun before (263-267fps) on ASG Ultrair and 0.30g
Once the gas router was replaced I tested it again…now 299-305fps! Turned down the NPAS and all is good again. It is definitely snappier and more recoil, I guess it is all going into moving the bolt and not leaking around the nozzle.
The other 6 replacements from FireSupport will be here on Monday so I guess that is a couple of evenings next week sorted 😁
Mag now marked up so I keep track of which I have done!

@SSPKali Are you mags standard or have you done the green gas mod?
They were GG modded by previous owner. I am careful not to over fill as I know a gas expansion area is needed

Talking of gasses has anyone tried the ultra air gas that patrol base sells? It’s always on offer at 2 cans for like £11’ish.
Been using it for 2+ years (thanks to the perpetual sale from PB!) and it runs great! Able to fill mags no problem (10-12s) and get ~100 shots from them (cary a speed loader for intense games!)

Were there a lot of players in all?
Last time we went there were so many players that it was a day of constantly getting stuck in choke points and not being able to move. Shame because I went when it first opened and it was a great site.
Think it was about 30 a side. Probably perfect numbers for a skirmish day. When it gets to 50+ a side neither team can progress. About 70% had never played there before either so regulars were at an advantage

How can you mention SADF kit and not post pics, heresy of the highest order
Now fixed 😂

Great day at UCAP VENDETTA running the TM MWS and SADF chest rig. Quite a few new-to-site players but the sides were evenly matched and every game a good match. Got some good kills in and ended up with only a few bruises. Was fun to show some n00bs around and lock down the hospital or clear out C wing.

Fugly grip was great, nice angle and secure hold. I am in love with the SADF chest rig…even fully loaded I had zero neck/shoulder/back issues. Shame I was still recovering from leg day 😂

Nozzles, nozzle springs, gas and BBs are all consumables in the MWS world. As C-Diddy says treat it as a classic car / high performance car and accept a level of tinkering, with what is ultimately a toy.
At the end of the day there is less to go wrong and when it does it is easier to fix than an AEG with the bonus that some POS Lipo isn’t going to self-immolate at a random point 😂

I had an older DP nozzle self destruct, this was an older shiny (and brittle) plastic. Newer ones seem more of a matt finish and currently out living the previous one.
I would look to grab 2 or 3 TM ones from FireSupport / Eagle6 / JKarmy who ever has them in stock. Happy hunting.
WTF? Exploding mag?!

MWS is pretty much steady state now. G&P NPAS seems a better fit than the usual RATech black and the Inforce WML is a nice ergonomic light.
Recent purchase (from nwcustomparts) is an Ergo grip Tactical Deluxe Chonky Boi 3000 (or something, IDK)
If you have big hands and find regular grips too small and trigger pull length a little short I would take a look at these. Hefty palm swell and subtle finger grooves makes sure that your hand is “indexed” without the grip forcing you to hold it in one way only. PTS ERG for scale (you) vs the grip she told you not to worry about 😂

Thanks for the follow-through. I have to have a similar go at my TRMR, which is also light-striking now. Given that we're looking at a fraction of a mm between bang and bust, it's amazing that any of our shed-built toys ever work at all.
Tolerances on it were good but I think the dirt and burrs along with zero grease was meaning that it moved sluggishly and didn’t impart enough of a blow on the primer.
I still need to find a replacement ball detent unit (probably 3mm dia over all!) to ensure good indexing of the twist part. -
Managed to strip it down, clean and grease it and remoce some of the burrs on the “nipple” part of the plunger. I also added some shims under the firing pin to take sone of the play out of it. Now moving much smoother so hopefully it will hit the primers hard and deeper (ooh matron!) and make a big bang!
Used a good amount of blue Loctite on the wobble head thread to make sure it doesn’t unscrew being lobbed through doors.
-
My old and rather battered AlphaTex BFG let me down 4 times at the weekend. It was denting the primers but not enough to set them off. The fifth time I tried it it finally worked. Over the last couple of years and 80+ primers it has probably not gone off twice.
Has anyone taken one apart? Is that even possible? Is there a known fix for this issue?
Thanks in advance!

Hang on you dyed a grey shirt green using yellow dye? 🤯
Yep, did some research on the internet and that was what was recommended! Seemed to work ok.
Used regular Dylon Machine dye even thought that doesn’t work on synthetics it does work on the 60% of the fabric that is cotton.
Light/torch mounting.

Inforce WML mounted at 12oc right at the front of the rail. Ambidextrous and low profile 👍
