Seems we're segueing to "how to fix airsoft", so my unwritten rule is: be the person that you want to play against.

You're sure you weren't hit, and you're sure you made the hit, and the other player says "You going to take that?"

What to do?  Argue it out?  You're not going to alter what they're equally sure happened. Even if they are actually delusional, even if they're deliberately cheating, and regardless of what reality really was, right at that point, the best thing you can do is to say "Good shot, nice one!", put your hand up, and walk away.

Because arguing the toss guarantees two sulky faces, over nothing, because there's no prize for "winning". When you've got the power to gift happiness, why not wield it?

One unspoken rule I've seen a fair bit is marshals pretending they aren't aware of their regulars making a habit of not taking hits. Got told at one site by some players on my team they just have to play around a particular group to have an enjoyable day.

So - I occasionaly wear one of these olive Webtex shemaghs around my neck (some events even mandate them for opfor kit).

For my own edification - are we saying that some people find it offensive to wear something like this?

I was planning on writing this after using it in a game but I got man-flu so obviously I was dying and couldn't make the game day but I'll do a mini-review anyway since I've been messing around with it and put about 20 mags worth through it.

A bit about the Real Steel version:
“APC” is an acronym for “Advanced Police Carbine.” The “K” stands for “Kurz,” or “short,” and “B&T” is the shortened name for Brügger & Thomet of Switzerland. The APC9 was introduced to Europe in 2011 in 9mm, and was quickly engineered for .40 S&W and .45 ACP offerings. The standard model's barrel length measured 7 inches and featured a right-side folding polymer stock. A carbine variant with a 16-inch barrel was also developed for the commercial market, as well as integrally suppressed models.

I've seen this advertised as the SCW-9 and the APC9 however if you follow the B&T naming convention this this is actually the B&T SMG ACP9 K PRO G. Which translates as a Sub Machine gun made by Brugger and Thormet called a Advanced Police Carbine in 9 x 19 mm calibre with a Kurz barrel with a Glock Magazine lower receiver and the PRO part is anyone's guess.

So there is now an airsoft GBB version of the B&T SMG ACP9 K PRO G made by Maruyama. Well I have no idea who Maruyama are and the box claims it was designed in Japan and built in Taiwan. Is this actually a VFC built GBB? It takes VFC style Glock Magazines but apart from that fact I don't see anything that screams out VFC. I think it might be a new company called Maruyama but I could be wrong and time will probably tell.

Ok, so on with the review. What do you get in the well packaged brown box? The GBB SMG, a 50 round magazine and a fake silencer/suppressor, oh and a little allen key to adjust the hop.

You might have noticed there are no markings on the SMG. I guess this is to get around any trademark issues outside of Japan.

The silencer is actually a inner barrel extension and has an effect on the FPS when attached. With the magazine filled with 144a gas and the magazine temperature at 21C, the FPS is 290 which is pretty consistant. By adding the silencer this jumps to 355 so you get a 70 FPS boost by fitting the silencer on average. As you can see below the silencer can be stripped down and the inner barrel removed if you want to keep the FPS down or add a tracer to the inside of the silencer. One thing to note is the silencer is very tight to get on and off. I think this is down to the paint and should become easier are the paint wears down over use.

I have a few different VFC glock magazines and they all fit and work fine. I actually prefer the Maruyama magazine over the VFC mags and in fact I just ordered some more as they are cheaper than the VFC 50 rounders and seem to work very well. The Maruyama mag works well in my VFC pistols just in case anyone was wondering. TM/WE/Raven mags don't fit this GBB.

VFC G19X mag in the GBB

VFC Glock 19 Gen 3 in the GBB
Adjusting the hop is easy and involves putting the supplied allen key in the hole in the front of the receiver and turning left or right to get the desired hop effect. The good news is that you don't need to disassemble the GBB to adjust and it can be done on the fly with a magazine loaded. The other plus side is the hop unit has no issues hopping 0.3g BB's and I've tried a bunch of different BB makes and had 0 jams, 0 splitting and 0 malfunctions. In fact I've had zero malfunctions with about 20 odd mags through it. It's a very reliable little GBB.

Inside the wear seems to be minimal after 20 odd magazines. I don't see anything to cause concern right now.

wear near the barrel is minimal. The grey is a mixture of paint wear and grease.

the bolt front shows the same paint wear and grease

The rear of the bolt shows wear from hitting the buffer.

there is hardly a mark on the trigger group.

    My conclusion:
Weirdly it didn't come with any iron sights as standard. You can't find B&T iron sights that easily so the closest will be the IWI polymer flip up sights if you want to run irons. I don't know why this bothers me so much

function and fitment are spot on. Zero complaints from me and it has a nice recoil to boot. Accuracy is about the same as a GBB pistol but slightly better as it has a stock attached. Range is decent but BB weight and gas used with vary the results.

Negatives: Probably spare internal parts long-term will be a problem and I wish the selector lever was metal instead of polymer but that's just nit-picking.

On the Mightjebus review scale it's a solid 4 out of 5.

p.s. The Omega 9 tri-lug tracer silencer fits and works very well on this GBB.

We can hope, but performance in RC racing is objective, while in airsoft, the narratives in our head are as important as cruel reality.  We're still at this energy.

As an avid airsoft player with well over 10 years of experience, I've been on the hunt for a high-quality brushless motor to upgrade my Krytac DMR. After experiencing issues with a previous brushless motor that had its connection tab break during my first skirmish, I stumbled upon the Solink SL-39000 brushless motor while browsing an HK online shop. I was excited to give it a try, and I'm happy to say that it exceeded my expectations.

Before switching to the Solink motor, my trigger-happy play style caused a lot of issues with my high torque motor. I experienced overheating, fast battery drain, and had to set up pre-cocking to improve trigger response, which led to increased wear and tear on my gearbox. But with the Solink brushless motor, all of those problems were solved. The instant torque greatly improved my trigger response, and I no longer needed to use pre-cocking. Plus, my gun was noticeably quieter without the annoying squeaking noise of the gearbox. I have attached my testing video below, so you can see for yourself.

With the Solink motor, I no longer have to worry about overheating during intense semi-spamming sessions, and my small 1400mAh battery lasted me a whole day of skirmishing (I used to have to bring three batteries for a day of skirmish with my old high torque motor). I've fired over 20,000 semi shots with this new motor, and it has worked flawlessly.
The Solink brushless motor arrived well-packed in a black padded box, with the pinion gear already attached and locktited. The build quality is exceptional, and the connection tabs are rock solid. The pinion gear meshes perfectly with my gearbox, and the resistance suggests high-quality magnets are used in the motor. It fits tightly in my PTS EPG motor grip, which I prefer for their high quality and comfort. And I love the small switch located at the base of the motor that allows me to adjust the speed from 39000 (H position) to around 31000 (L position) to cater to different setups. Pictures attached below:

The Solink brushless motor is also highly compatible with various AEGs and FCUs. I've tested it in all seven of my AEGs, and it worked flawlessly with my G&G FCU (plug and play) as well as my Gate Titan and Gate Aster SE FCU (with brushless support turned on from the Gate app).
Overall, brushless motors offer numerous advantages over brushed motors, including high efficiency, higher torque and speed, less heat production, and greater durability. The Solink brushless motor delivers on all of these fronts and offers exceptional performance, reliability, and efficiency. If you're looking for a top-notch motor for your next airsoft project, I highly recommend giving the Solink brushless motor a try.

My rating is a solid 10/10!

I'm more inclined to blame the "cost of living crisis", literally everything has rocketed in price (except maybe Airsoft green fees ?), & for most Airsoft is low down the list of financial commitments, less disposable income will make people reevaluate their priorities.

It's a shockingly bad piece of journalism with terminology like 'airshot guns' and 'plastic bullets' scattered throughout, and the shop owner's attitude is almost beyond belief. It's these sort of stories that make me think that perhaps sensible representation for the hobby might be a good thing.

It's taken me a while to decide whether to reply to this, and if so, what I should say. As Shamal has rightly stated, I am the East of England UKAPU representative. I initially joined as a member, but decided that I would like to further support the community as a regional representative.

During my interview for the position I too expressed reservations with regard to what the union provide - as others have pointed out, the social media pages are not frequently updated and there is little 'evidence'. All representatives are volunteers, and in any case, I believe that the Press Officer position is vacant.

There is often assistance offered to player-members which unfortunately goes unreported due to this. This has involved helping with customs and import of RIFs, where players experienced issues - and similarly assisted players in Northern Ireland where I believe there have been further issues with customs.

Following the COVID-19 pandemic, the Union were approached by a number of game organisers/site owners to gauge the legality of running games during the lift of restriction levels. The Union provided this guidance, but it was highlighted that if Airsoft was registered as a sport (like paintball is), then we potentially could have returned sooner. However, in order to register as a sport we would require a national governing body.

The membership was 'sold' to me as more of an insurance scheme; in case I should ever need assistance, but also to support the ongoing efforts of the Union to provide some kind of national governing body - which was well supported by representatives, members, non-members and site owners when discussed with them.

Whilst it was before my time, I believe the references to 'proposed bans' etc relate to the VCRA 2007 bill. @Cannonfodder if you would like I will try to find more information relating to this.

Unfortunately, our Chairman has suffered from issues with his personal circumstances lately, and this has led to our AGM not happening as early in the year as perhaps would be expected. Rest assured, I am actively pursuing this and hope it will be able to go ahead soon. With this in mind, I cannot comment on the plans going forward for the annual members skirmish or attendance at NAE.

In the past I have attempted to arrange a members only game, but then struggled to find a site to host it at. It is on my list of things to arrange, and as soon as I have news I will share it.

I do recognise that perhaps the communications from the Union have not been as good as would be expected, and for that please accept my apology.

@Rogerborg - are you referring to the Operation Stigma II post on Facebook from May 2022 as this is all I can find?

@RebelScum if you would like, please send me a message and I will do my best to chase up your patch - as it is of course not right that you have yet to receive it.

Finally, I would like to address suggestions that members of the Union are in it to 'make a name' for themselves, or as an 'ego boost'. I appreciate this is personal opinion, but when engaging with other representatives I have not experienced this. I see the other representatives as individuals with only the interests of the players and the sport at heart.

My inbox is always open, and I am always more than happy to engage with any player, whether they are a member or not. I've done my best to address what people have said, and am happy to discuss anything.

You see there are levels of ignorance which I think you have to make some allowance for.   I am one of the ignorant.  I have never heard of a Keffiyeh. I had no idea whatsoever that the patterns had any symbolism behind them, I just thought they were purely decorative (or in the case of more militaristic ones, sort-of camo)    I've been educated today (thank you), but if someone sees a shemagh / Keffiyeh for sale and buys it because they like the pattern... well I certainly couldn't hold them to account for it, because it's something (to borrow a much-mocked phrase) that's "an unknown unknown" to both them and me.

Back to the main topic, I've got some personal experience in the Z patch thing. I'm not sure how to, or even whether I should share, but as I'm typing I feel I might as well keep going, see what you guys think...

There's a young chap who goes regularly to Spec Ops who has worn a Z patch on several occasions.  The first time I saw it my blood boiled.  I naturally assumed he was just being a twat, or utterly ignorant.  My initial desire was to run up to him, rip it off his arm, verbally abuse him for , and generally put either, or both, of us at risk of getting thrown off the site.
Instead I decided to mentally count to 10, and approach it with an opening gambit of "that's a bold thing to wear that today, I can't say I like it".
He explained he's Russian, his family back in Russia support the war (presumably brainwashed by Putin etc), and his uncle is actually fighting.  He made a comment about the BBC as 'Main Stream Media', fake news about the Russians etc, from which I reached the conclusion that he's in a Pro-Putin environment where they're all soaking up the propaganda.  And as he's got at least one family member in the army, it'd be pretty difficult for him to go against that without alienating himself from his close relatives.

I kind of put him on my "RL ignore list", but as it turned out he's a nice guy, plays airsoft the right way, didn't push the Z agenda at anyone (though I think he'd defend it when questioned, as he did to me).  He became too friendly to ignore, and I've turned a blind eye to his patch, and not talked politics since.   He greets me by name, gave me a slice of birthday cake (which some others had turned down - not sure if they were ostracizing him for the patch, worried the cake would have Novichok in it, or just concerned their waist-line would end up like mine... but turning down cake is not something I can do easily).

I really don't know if I've dropped my moral compass by not forcefully pointing out that the error of his ways, or being the good person who sees past flaws and make allowance for circumstances.
The only thing I can say for sure is I was mightily pleased when he turned up to the last skirmish without the patch, indeed he was wearing British gear I think.   Maybe Carlos had had a word with him.

    So yeah.  Slava Ukraini

And this absolute whanger, which is why I'm not blasé about "mid century history enthusiasts" with a very specific interest in lightning bolts and friendship windmills.  I draw a distinction here between generic Wehrmacht or Rooshan, versus sporting ᛋᛋ or Z emblems.  At an actual historic re-enactment event representing the totality of a conflict you can (but don't have to) make the "Well, someone has to do it" argument.  At an airsoft skirmish, or even a milsim, that doesn't apply: it's always a conscious choice to go full fash.

And the warning sign for me is not how long ago the events occurred, but whether the ideology behind them is still active now.  And especially if it's still actively recruiting.

If it is, then I'll always doubt the motives for choosing to display and promote it, regardless of any public protestations to the contrary.
