Been messing about with ideas for my ics mars sbr after getting bored with the plain 'stock' look. Nicked the peq battery box and afg off of my kwa erg and a cheap nasty light I had kicking about. Along with a big dragon qd suppressor. Thoughts or suggestions welcome as I'm not 100% sure on the afg and think something light a surefire one light would be better

A guy at our local site uses a magnet system that works very well. Its basically 2 small (about 3mm) thin magnets and on the one inside the goggles there is a small piece of cloth stuck to the magnet. He swipes the outer magnet over the lense, the inner one with cloth clears the moisture. Everyone's been bugging him to get more, but apparently he got them stateside and importing would be prohibitively expensive. But maybe some neodymium rare earth magnets and microfiber cloth would work. Me i just use fogstop and it does the trick

So with a large slice of luck we may one day be returning to our favourite sports and getting to sling some plastic once more. Bu here is the question. I haven't used any of my rifs since last feb/march time. They have been cleaned, dried and stored in a cupboard ever since. My gas pistols have had a squirt of mainenance gas put into the mags and been set down to wait their glory days once more. So with the hope of returning sometime soon. Whats things should we be doing to our various rifs to prepare to sling plastic once more?

I use a dynatex timed and just cook it before chucking it into confined spaces. The Pulse grenades are supposed to be great and they are developing a multishot base for it at the moment.

There's a few for me. The safety brief yackers who slow down everything and invariably aren't ready when its time to go into the game zones. Airsoft snobs who look down on everyones kit because its not crye,tm, real steel etc etc. Genuine non hit takers. You know the ones. You can see them flinching, see the bb's bouncing off them at 10 yards and they still claim not to have been hit, Cheat callers. Usually those same folk who don't call their hits amusingly. But the biggest by far. Thieves and scammers. Airsoft is an expensive hobby even at entry level and people who believe they have a right to rip off or steal someone elses stuff. Well they deserve dragging through the nettles naked whilst everyone full auto's their nutsacks into oblivion.

I would love to get some weighted train g plates with a vest to use then in. Not entirely sure I would want to run about in my warrior cpc though lol

Well lads and lasses. If fitness is your current weakness there is hope. Just before lockdown began I got back into running. By back into it I mean ‘stumbling around breathing out of my arse’. but apparently it is working. Since I started back at it I have dropped over 1stobe in weight 15’4 down to 14’3 (in 5’7 and fairly broad shouldered and fat). Not only that but I have slowly pushed the sunday run days to try and go further. 5k/3ish miles to start. Then upto 10k/6ish miles. And today for the first time. Half marathon distance 13 miles or just over 20k. now I am no gazelle more a slightly irritated hippo and if I can do it. Anyone can (I used to hate running with passion).

Lewis he genuinely is one of the nice guys in airsoft. Always happy to talk about gear and kit and cameras or give tips etc to help. If you get the drop on him or pull off a nice shot he will acknowledge it etc. And if he shoots you and thinks he might have caused harm he always comes to check your ok post game and apologise. when I shredded my atacs ix bottoms he was straight in with a tip to repair them with shoe goo. Offered loads of advice On my mk23 etc. if you ever play at battlestations activities, combat airsoft thetford, or combat actions games in felthorps norfolk. Then your likely to run into him at some point.

I have played against KM on only one occasion and its probably the only time i have ever been given a headshot by a sniper whilst easily within M.E.D. Knowing the site well enough and having played there for years you get the just of the various distances involved. As for AIrsoftCamMan. He also attends my local site fairly frequently and i can honestly say he is one of the most helpful players you could encounter and one of the nicer guys too. Playwise he doesn't come in with the ' im a celebrity and we are playing this' attitude. He just blends into the group and plays fairly and honorably. Never had an issue playing against or with him. Also play with Killfisher. But he doesn't play as often. But he is always good for a laugh. Sane goes for AirsoftEd

Whilst waiting on my stuff from FRV tailoring. I bought some Invader Gear Predator Trousers in m81 woodland to go with the new ubacs. Also topped up the bb's with another bag of ASG cursed .28's just incase i actually get to play anytime soon. Also picked up another osprey pistol mag pouch and some weird sort of multicamish snood to tick the 'face covering' box most sites seem to have for reopening. So over lockdown thats new ubacs and trousersand snood, backpack, pistol mag pouch, frv belt and sa80 sling and internal rebuild of my cxp ape along with rail covers for it. Could have probably bought a new gun for that lot of money if my ukara had been vailid lol.

I prefer a plate carrier to a chest rig myself. But that’s because I’m a little overweight and find the chest right feels a tad uncomfortable and looks absolutely hideous on my in pics. I currently run a warrior assault systems covert plate carrier with a triple mag on the front, a dangler pouch for odds and ends and a cargo pack on the back for spare bb’s, hydration bladder and spare pistol gas. Then a belt kit with my pistol, 2 pistol mags, 2 extra m4 mags, a holder for the blank firing grenade and a radio pouch for my comms.

Just ordered a shooters belt in multicam and sa80 sling in multicam from frv tailoring. Now to wait for it arrive and inevitably sort out my belt set up again! hoping all the positive reviews are right and it’s really good kit

I picked mine up via defcon airsoft I think it was and they still had the older versions there. But I run 9mm blanks and they are plenty loud enough.

Couple spring to mind. being at combat thetford for the first time and admittedly getting lost. Came upon a trail the lead from the opfor respawn to their front line. Followed a group of players along the track before engaging them one at a time and picking them off. Only got busted after engaging their sniper and it taking nigh on a full high cap to get him to call his hit. another was earlier this year at battle stations activities. Defending a mortar position game. Typical unlimited respawn assault vs dead and out defence. 15 minute game. we get down to the last 5 minutes and there’s about four of us. Slowly it dwindles to just me and 2 minutes remaining. I’m sat about 10 metres back from the mortar with my kwa erg with its reassuring 60 round mags. And through a combination of luck, consistently repositioning and decent shooting I hold off the other team on my Todd. Walked off at game over to many back slaps and the nickname sharpshooter. made me smile and walk a bit taller for the rest of the day.

Yes mate it does. When we get back into airsoft my kit is all squared away and ready. Leaving my beloved KWA erg at home in favour of my 2 ics rifs with hi cap mags. Means taking 5 mags instead of 12 to a game day plus speed loader. Also stripped my plate carrier down to just a triple mag and hydration carrier with everything else on a grab belt kit. For me the mental health kicks mostly from a crappy younger life. Fairly abusive mother, an ex who made life hell and still tries with manipulating the kids etc. Alongside other odds and sods as they say. So all it takes is that little bump to knock me off kilter. Though in fairness i have a pretty amazing fiancee i have been with for 10 years now and she will often kick me up the arse when needed lol

New upper gearbox for the ics cxp ape. areived yesterday. Guessing my ape was one of the earlier models as the gearbox didn’t have the quick change spring system that’s used on them now. unfortunately The new upper case with an m120 spring. So I decided to swap the springs over. apparently reassembling the old gearbox proved that I know many interesting combinations of swear word.

Given a choice. L85a2 maybe I got lucky but my issue a2 never let me down. Now the A1 on the other hand. First time I fired it I had a double feed. Hates the hell out of it all the time I used it. but comparing the a1 and a2 is like comparing your grans battered fiat pinto with a Ferrari.

Weakness. like most a bit heavier than I want which leads to me sweating a lot. Though since lockdown I have been running between 20 and 30km a week to try and shift some weight. Not as easy as it sounds when you work in a chip shop for a living. I am one of those sneaky feckers. Want to know where I am. Look for the forward line. Now look way in front in one of the flanks circling in for the hard flank or rear attack. Problem is. A lot of the time as I arrive the fights over. Though it doesn’t mean I sometimes catch all the respawners flat. mental health. That’s probably a biggy though. The times I’m all prepped and rating to go Saturday night and come Sunday morning. There’s no pint, in too tired, suddenly don’t feel well etc etc. That’s canned more games days that I have probably played

Most likely. Though it went in so many places i dont think there is anywhere else on the belt to try. Cant fit it onto my warrior cpc either as it doesnt have molly. Now i just need to figure out why some of the bb's keep getting stuck in the mk23 supressor. Then i can swap everything again to fit the dtd holster instead of warrior universal one. Oh on a side not and more on topic. Ordered a 'invader gear' woodland ubacs from Bullseye Country Sports on Wednesday at about half one. Got home yesterday at 2pm and it had already arrived! Fast Hoping the Invader gear stuff proves to be half way decent.

Nothing fancy, just a dynatex bfg holster and malice clip to fit it to my battlebelt. Followed by several hours moving pouches about to make it all fit in a way i was comfortable with.

over the last few weeks. New complete lower gearbox for my ics cxp ape. G&P Keymod rail cover set with finger stop. Backpack to go with my warrior cpc so i can carry some hydration. Hoping to order a complete upper gearbox for the cxp ape next week which will be a full internal rebuild and set of spares.
