  1. So i spoke to the guys at airsmiths and hpa airsoft and after some tooing and froing. Ordered a Wolverine Inferno Premium bundle that comes with the braided line, air hose, 48ci tank and ballystic reg and the mini lipo. Ordered a stirrup pump as a bit of a back up and something that can get chucked in the kit bag for game days incase of emergency refills. A dive tank is not really an option for me as i dont drive and it would mean carrying half hour to the train station and then another half hour to hour at the other end to the dive shop. Then all the way back again. I was looking at one of these as a fill at home option... https://www.amazon.co.uk/12V-Portable-pcp-Compressor-Transformer/dp/B07QRG14B4/ref=sr_1_6?keywords=pcp+compressor&qid=1683721570&refinements=p_85%3A20930949031&rnid=20930948031&rps=1&sr=8-6 As it seems to come with its own built in oil/water filter and doesn't require oil or an external water source when running. Not sure if thats better than one of the bigger compressors that seems to need a water supply to a pump and regular oil top ups.
  2. So for background. Many moons ago (2004-2008) i used to play that other sport of paintball and to be exact super air paintball. So i have a basic understanding of the tanks. But after much fettling, swearing, sulking and a few 'dont throw it at the wall' moments. I have given up on figuring out the gearbox issues on my Tm G3. A bunch of friends of have all just got into hpa systems with the Polstar Kythera and i was thinking of following a similar line. Looking about it seems the Kythera is popular as its sold out everywhere i look in the uk. But that got me wondering about the Fusion engines or Wolverine engines. As i understand it. They take a little less bedding in as they are not purely mechanical. But the flip side is they require a mini lipo power source and wouldnt be considered 'waterproof' like the kythera (i don't plan any underwater skirmishes). Installation seems to be fairly straight forward and it seems like wolverine offer a few more 'how to videos' from the hour or so i spent on youtube. From a stockist point of view wolverine seem better supported in the uk or is it just a case of 'that new popular thing' with them? Outside of that im guessing tank wise its the usual carbon fibre is lighter over aluminium is more 'robust'. Regulators seem to be a case of most shops fitting a ballystic as standard (assuming this is almost the default go to for a starter). Airlines are much of a muchness it seems and its down to fashion and length. I was thinking of getting a pcp airgun compressor like they have on airsmiths as a filling option. A for simplicity, B i live 25 miles from the nearest dive shop and dont drive and finally C a pump would be cheap and simple but appears to be a heck of a lot of work though portable if the need arose. Am i missing much or is that in essence the jist of things and would the £150 difference between a Kythera and the Inferno/Fusion systems be a good £150 or bad £150 investment. For clarity and ease. The tm g3 is a version 2 gearbox.
  3. No it was via airsoft hub not the forum. Paid goods and services. But seeing g as its been over a month I doubt paypal would do much to be honest.
  4. Thanks folks Just ordered a v2 tappet playe and spring set from @ak2m4 Hopefully the end of various problems with this rif but we shall see. Should know better than to trust in second hand guns. This one's been a mare and if it wasn't for being distracted training for the marathon last month. I would have probably picked up on the problems and challenged the seller. But the ad has gone from the website so no way of recontacting them. So far it's been a cracked handguard. The small plastic internal support that screws into the back of the gear box in the g3 was spilt jn half. A part of the barrel support broken and finally being told it was semi locked when it clearly wasn't. I'm sure when it finally goes over the chrono it won't be shooting the rumoured 400fps
  5. The nozzle doesn't appear to be moving at all. But being a second hand rif I don't know the answer only that it apparently has a shs gear set, asg ultimate spring and a warfet. The warfet is the only bit I can confirm. It was supposed to be semi locked and wasn't. So faith in anything else is low.
  6. Looming for some advice. I bought a tm g3 that's slowly turning into a bit of a nightmare. The latest and hopefully last issue was found today when I went to test fire it. The nozzle appears to be fully forward across the feed tube amd not retracting at all when the gun cycles. My head says this is the tappet plate which has disconnected or broken. But I wanted to ask folks more knowledgeable before diving in to try and fix it. Also any idea what tappet plate I would need if this is the case.
  7. Well no. Thought about it. Figured I'm not ever selling the rif or mount so the Liberal use of 2 part epoxy was used to convince the mount to stay where its supposed to
  8. Work wise aside from a paint job in some sort of woodland colouring. I think this is it, though the temptation to add a grip, rail covers and supressor is real! But as it stands. My Tokyo Marui g3 with lct rail, harris bipod, tm mp5/g3 claw mount and Vortex optics.
  9. might swear. bought a tm mp5/g3 claw mount to fit my tm g3. Will not sit stable am i missing something

weirdly if i put it back to front it locks in place.

@Lozart every picture i see has it with the lever on the left side of the receiver/mount. But it will only lock in place on mine if I put it on the right side. Nit really sure why asbits the tm mount on a tm receiver.

    3. Lozart

      Lozart

Good point, well made. The lever is supposed to be on the left. Of course, airsoft QC and tolerances laugh in the face of how things are supposed to fit!

Fair point and especially on an antique like the tm g3

  10. I have a place for the Manchester marathon next year and in the ballot for London 2024. Between now and then I have run Norwich 10k and a 10k inflatable assault course. Wouldn't mind either a hyrox or spartan if I can get onto one.
  11. It is done..4hrs 21minutes 22 seconds. I need a shower and a massage and thankfully both are waiting for me.
  12. The xr hippies have pledged to protect the marathon. It's 'just stop pil' that havr threatened to interrupt it and ignore gets in my way they will just get run over.
  13. This is about as real as it gets before the day. Just watching the weather forecast like its an international sport. Seen everything from 20 degrees and dry through to 10 degrees and heavy rain. It have a laugh. If you think airsoft od expensive. We went through £200 at the marathon expo last night on not very much.
  14. Nope not long at all. Have now seen this year's marathon medal. As of yesterday I am also down to run next years Manchester marathon
  15. Memory mile ribbons made ahead of this weekend. There are still miles left if anyone wants to dedicate a mile to a loved one. Each sponsor will receive one of these ribbons once they are removed from our charity tops after the marathon.
  16. Last long run before London done. This time next week I will be somewhere between the Cutty Sark and Tower Bridge. Thanks for the support and donations so far everyone
  17. Mrs kindly ordered me the long lct g3 rail from firesupport soni can replace the creaky wobbly and somewhat flimsy stock handguard.
  18. So it's been a good week. Just as I left for work last night my tm g3sg1 turned up that I bought from someone. Frustrating timing but that's how it goes. So this morning after 5 hours sleep (thanks neighbours) I rish tk the box like a kid at Christmas. Tear into it and look like a loving stalker at the new pew. Plug in a battery and nothing. Try another and nothing. Ok, plug in the warfet programming card and it's configured with 11.1 battery protection. So I try to change it but the buttons don't want to play ball (I had been forewarned the card was very sketchy). So off I toddle to component shop to order a couple of 11.1 lipos (cheaper than a new warfet). I figure I might aswell order the kill flash for the sight whilst I am at it. Back down and more fiddling with the gun and it occurs to me. Its fecking huge. Much rummaging for my gun bags ensues. Sure enough......its about 15cm too long. Now this kids is where you learn to control your impulse buys. A search of amazon and the likes turns up a variety of 110-120cm long bags and ofcourse if not for the killflash purchase...I would buy one. But a tenner to short on most. So roll on Monday when I can order the gun bag and hopefully. Are a decision on .28, .32 or .36 bb's in a dmr. Yoy have to laugh at yourself sometimes.
  19. hmmm best bb's to run in a dmr. Geoffs 32 or 36's, ascension research 36's or longbow 36's

imho Geoff's 36's. Never let me down. Longbow are a close second if I can't get Geoff's.

    4. Impulse

      Impulse

I like .4s or higher in a DMR, but in terms of brands I like Geoffs, BLS or Longbow, depending on what's in stock and for what weight.

  20. Does anyone have a gate warfet programming card they don't need anymore. Mines kaput and need one. Happy to pay

  21. Bulle reusable grenade pouch in od. Jg hi cap mag for a g3 Vortex strikefire 2 Vortex 3x flip to side magnifier. That concludes this weeks mental breakdown for the bank manager. Well unless I find the stock and ris rail I want for the g3 sg1 I bought at the end of last week.
  22. Thats fair and beyond expectation. Its not something i have ever experienced and touch wood. I hope never happens. But atleast theres reassurance. Now just to find the other bits for my G3 sg1 plan. Somethings seem to be rocking horse poo though. Though i had planned on spraying the who rif/sight combo in a woodland camo. Not sure if thats such a good idea or would have any impact on the vortex warranty either.
  23. it had been my thoughts especially when you take in to consideration their warranty. But do you use a kill flash or anything with them for additional protection. (yes i may have just pulled the trigger on a strikefire 2 red dot and the 3x magnifier)
