I have a place for the Manchester marathon next year and in the ballot for London 2024. Between now and then I have run Norwich 10k and a 10k inflatable assault course. Wouldn't mind either a hyrox or spartan if I can get onto one.

So it's been a good week. Just as I left for work last night my tm g3sg1 turned up that I bought from someone. Frustrating timing but that's how it goes. So this morning after 5 hours sleep (thanks neighbours) I rish tk the box like a kid at Christmas. Tear into it and look like a loving stalker at the new pew. Plug in a battery and nothing. Try another and nothing. Ok, plug in the warfet programming card and it's configured with 11.1 battery protection. So I try to change it but the buttons don't want to play ball (I had been forewarned the card was very sketchy). So off I toddle to component shop to order a couple of 11.1 lipos (cheaper than a new warfet). I figure I might aswell order the kill flash for the sight whilst I am at it. Back down and more fiddling with the gun and it occurs to me. Its fecking huge. Much rummaging for my gun bags ensues. Sure enough......its about 15cm too long. Now this kids is where you learn to control your impulse buys. A search of amazon and the likes turns up a variety of 110-120cm long bags and ofcourse if not for the killflash purchase...I would buy one. But a tenner to short on most. So roll on Monday when I can order the gun bag and hopefully. Are a decision on .28, .32 or .36 bb's in a dmr. Yoy have to laugh at yourself sometimes.

it had been my thoughts especially when you take in to consideration their warranty. But do you use a kill flash or anything with them for additional protection. (yes i may have just pulled the trigger on a strikefire 2 red dot and the 3x magnifier)

So I am venturing into the dmr world soon, having purchased a tm g3 sg1. I know the easiest way to get magnified sights on a aeg platform is something like the variable 1-4 type short dots etc. But I was thinking of running something more like a aimpoint clone on cantilever Mount with a flip to side magnifier behind it. Does anyone use this as opposed to a standard single magnified sight and if so did you have issues getting the 2 sights lined up properly.

I come from a miniature painting background and when stripping paint from plastic miniatures acetone works, or you can get something called biostrip. Failing that my old Faithfull is brown dettol. You soak the plastic part in the detail for a few hours, removed and scrub with a tooth brush. If it hasn't worked soak it some more. With plastic miniatures I have had stuff sat in the dettol for weeks kn end without any lasting damage.

A pre owned and upgraded Tokyo Marui G3 sg1. Now the nervous waiting for it to be sent and arrive. Its going to be my 1st foray into using a dmr unless i downgrade the spring to 350fps again It will also be only the second rif i have own that is not an M4 variant. Now to trawl the ads for some bits like sights, supressors and an extra mag or 2.
