    Played at battlestations on Sunday. Always a good site with decent marshals and always trying to find new games to spin. Mostly decent day, a few hit taking issues over the day especially in the afternoon when a fresh faced group of rentals in shorts and t shirts rocked up. Had a moment or 2 though of 'hmmm is someone shooting hot' after a mate had their mesh lower face pro dented by a bb and then I had the flip up lense protector on my rifle cracked right through. But a decent day all in. Back into the woods in webbing and hat instead of plate carrier and helmet in a couple of weeks.

    I seem to be sliding down that slope. Had a game where I was a few metres from a sniper. He was in a full ghillie I was prone in multicam in some brush. Had all hell break loose around us and yet nobody noticed either of us and I did have a moment where I thought....a ghillie suit could be cool. As for the sniper rifle I'm not ready to slow down that much yet lol. My g3 dmr will happily lob a .36 70 metres with accuracy and hit a 80 metre target on a range with 40- 50% reliability and lob the occasional one onto a 90 metre target

    Got in a half day skirmish at combat action games and loved it because I finally seem to have got my hpa'd g3 rocking like it should. Highlights including me and 3 others holding a small ridge o erlooking the endor base for a good 20 minutes whilst racking up kills and taking very little return fire. But the gem for me was a shot I made in the 2nd game. About 40 metres out from a bunker i could see through the windows either side and into a bunker another 15-20 metres beyond that, I saw someone's head bobbing about so took a hopeful shot, adjusted my aim and managed to sail a bb through the 1st bunkers windows into the 2nd bunker and right onto said persons noggin. To say I was chuffed with the shot would be an understatement. For clarity dmr limits, .36bb and I only shot the head as it was the only visible part of the target.

    Maple leaf whisper supressor with extra baffle inserts. Had a whale of a time rocking my g3 this weekend just gone and wanted to turn the already quiet sound of it into almost silent.

    Asg mk23 with all the upgrades and novritch modular supressor in a dtd holster. Sadly it's about as useful as a chocolate tea pot.

    so tired of fogging up my ess crossbows. Mostly through sweat from my head. Anyone have any good suggestions?

      Just to add my tuppence worth.

       

      I suffer bad with fogging,so bad that I need fog lights front and rear,but this weekend at the nae,after a bad Saturday,I purchased a £50 pair of Bloc glasses.

      Ran them on the Sunday and wow! No issues at all. I set up a challenge with the vendor that if they fogged I would be back for my money. Pleased to say that I never went back for a refund.

      I have tried pretty much everything but these work for me 👍

      Will see how they work as I ordered some bloc lynx with the gasket on Friday. Also ordered some little magnetic wipes from etsy. If that all fails I will get an ex-fog unit as a final hope lol

    A flip side to my other story wasd being at combat thetford a few years back. I had managed to outflank the opposing team and get in behind them. Stumbled upon a group who were the sites resident players apparently. Slowly moved up picking a few off until i ran into their 'sniper'. In full view of a marshal i shot him in the backside from about 20 metres (close enough to see the round bounce off). Guy flinches, looks around and then goes back to sniping. I figure ok, maybe it wasnt a clean hit and put a double tap into his backside, behold the same reaction. At this point i look at the marshal who shrugs, switch to full auto and put a good 20 rounds into the snipers backside at which point he finally calls hit and wanders off. A minute or so later his mates light me up as they return from respawn. Couldn't believe the marshal just stood and watched and didn't say a word.

    A funny one was at a game a while back. I was set up shooting and suddenly I feel a smack in my back. This is accompanied by my mate Robin cackling like a loon from the dead zone. I had called hit and challenged him on it to which he laughed some more. At this point I was miffed and shouted 'I ain't taking a hit from a dead player'. Turned to re-engage in the game and quickly felt another smack iny back. This time accompanied by a 'sorry mark and chuckle'. What I had thought was my mate in the dead box was airsoft camman laying about 15 metres away much to my mates amusement. Called the hit, took the walk of shame and ended up in one of his short videos as 'this guy thought his mate was shooting him'. In my defence its exactly what my mate would normally do given half a chance. I like most of you have called hits in the past from rain drops, twigs and other random none bb related whacks.

    has anyone tried the spec savers safety glasses for prescription eye wear. they have the en166f rating that seems to be the standard. Asking as a friend is trying to find prescription eye pro for airsoft

      Has he looked into eyepro that has inserts? It would be far cheaper than buying safety glasses direct from specsavers I would assume, and would also ensure full seal etc hopefully 😂

      he did but is concerned that fogging could then become a double issue. He tried the spec savers glasses and they give you these flex side panels that make them almost full seal

      I use a bolle otg (180 at the moment) and an exfog combo and it's quite good. I cut off some rubber from both sides to make it more "breathable".

    I'm picking up an old ics m4 ris to stick a wolverine engine in. But externally can't decide what to do. Suggestions for something cool looking. Optics wise its a vortex strikefire 2with flip magnifier

    Saying that. I just looked at replacing the selector switch itself as it's in pretty bad shape. Only in stock one I for d was in Canada for $17 I'm ok with that. Not so ok with them wanting $100 to ship it though. Might try and see if the tm one can be Jerry rigged to fit instead or if vfc get back to me about sourcing a replacement

    Cheers. I have ordered one and just hope customs don't decide to jump on it I had seen it but my tired brain saw yhe price jump from £7 to $149 and had a fit.

    I picked up a boneyard vfc hk417 and it needs a new selector plate. Looking about online. The original seems scarce and the places that do have it all want ridiculous amounts for shipping (some cases nearly £100) Can anyone recommend an alternative plate or know of any places selling one without the ridiculous shipping charges EDIT- I was planning to fit an wolverine inferno into the rif. But the selector plate is obviously kinda essential

      Have you tried talking to VFC themselves? Ive ordered parts for my 417s direct from them before and the shipping costs were negligible enough that I dont even remember them.

      Not yet. I ha e tried orderj g from wgc shop as someone linked to them with it only costing £16 including shipping so fingers crossed.

    A fully adjustable 2 point sling. Works in a similar way to the british army sa80 one without the need for the clips.

    A nice new 499mm zci barrel for my g3. only to discover that for some reason the tm g3 outer barrel is narrowed after 459mm to a point that the inner barrel wont fit through. Being relatively cheap metal and the scarcity of spares. I dont think trying to bore out the outer barrel is a worthwhile risk.

    Nothing too exciting. Delta Mike mk2 in dark woodland. 3 metres of 1inch webbing in woodland camo with 5 plastic and 1 metal triglide, 1 metal spring loaded cam buckle and a metal hk clip. Plan to make my own adjustable 2 point sling.

    Underwear change required. Using a compressor (set to 3k psi with auto cut off) to fill my 3000psi bottle for the 1st time. Whoosh 5k burst disk ruptures. I nearly go deaf and damn near sh!t myself lol

      Absolutely! I used to work at a wind tunnel - we had a 1000bar compressor that blew a blanking plate off the top of the tunnel. 10" round, flat plate bolted on with a bajillion bolts and it just completely disappeared!

      I used to work with cast fittings at silly pressures.  We once had a batch of ball valves with no balls in them.  Since they were small control valves no one noticed until the system was pressured up.  Some idiot had re-boxed Chinese knock off rubbish and sold them unchecked.  It happened a lot.  We always bought rupture discs and lifting gear from the manufacturers direct as a result.  As Rog says, 40% over spec and its really not funny!

      Oh absolutely. I would prefer it goes before the 5k limit rather than after it. A small couple of pence disc popping is much more preferable than a large aluminium cylinder sending frag everywhere. On the plus side, new burst discs purchased and fitter and tank filled without any further drama.

    Wolverine inferno gen 2 premium with braided grip line valken 48ci 3000psi tank with ballystic reg 42 inch hpa hose. 4500psi stirrup pump for those emergeny refills crew works high pressure air compressor with oil stop, oil and additional inline oil/water filter. Now all i want is a jg g3 retractable stock but those appear to be out of stock everywhere and so do the tm ones. The lct version seems ridiculously expensive and the rail needed modification to fit on the tm body
