Oh for fucks sake. The last thing this hobby needs is attention seeking thots

Brilliant idea if you ask me, it would class as a charity game as I reckon at least half of the players haven't seen a real life nipple since their mom stopped breastfeeding them.

Also what a great diversionary tactic, you could send her out on a run and pick off the opposition as they stand there like slack jawed zombies while figuring what sort out white stuff they should be shooting at her.

If this became a thing it would grow the game as there would never be a half empty game again. Right up until some fucked up fat incel charges one down on a I can't get laid without paying for it red mist moment.

  3. I think if marketed towards site owners it could actually have legs. Capture the VIP games do quite often work and if you had a game where each team has a few nominated players carrying trackers that is a interesting spin. I say this because one style of vip game that I have seen work very well is where each team has only certain players that can actually capture the vip and that always leads to small groups of people congregating round their teams own personalities and actually going for the objective. Add trackers being carried by those nominated players you could actually have a game mode that could be quite successful.

Do I think that anyone still stubborn enough to be unvaccinated at this point is engaging in self- and societal harm?  Yup.

Do I think that calling them "plague rats" and engaging in a Two Minute Hate is likely to be constructive or persuasive?

Nope.  I'd rather that we celebrate the wins rather than turning on each other, no matter how cathartic it feels.

I disagree as two minutes with a blunt instrument and a quick vaccine jab into the unconscious tin foil hat wearing moron seems like it would be quite cathartic to me.

Very true and your right despite all the vids and articles I have read I don't have a clue about the sport yet just very excited and want to buy new things for my new toy and make it my own.

Any recommendations on what I could buy for it that does not involve playing with the gearbox for now?

I did grab a nuprol 11.1v 30c battery and smart charger

Do nothing to the gun internally until you have played a fair bit and see if there is anything you feel like needs improving. Trying to upgrade a gun without a goal and the knowledge is pointless and will 99% percent of the time just make it worse.

Chuck a few external bits on like a red dot or scope and get a sling.

Return the nuprol smart charger and get a sky rc t100.

I have the 2011-1911, been pretty solid to date and out performs others, the other week when it was cold, my pistols were the only pistols working when others would get 2 or 3 shots and the gas is done, mine kept on firing fine.

People again with this FPS thing, it is a fixed energy rating. DO THE MATH....

A 0.2g BB fired at 320 feet per second is travelling at 218 miles an hour. (just to bring the FPS in to a realm that most of us understand)

SO why do you need to go faster? These are SAFETY LIMITS that are imposed by government and the sites in turn may have their specific rules and limits like the site my son likes out of all the ones he goes to is now weighing BB's to stop people subbing higher weight than was chronograph with.

ITS A SPORT AND GAME and it seems to me that the idea most people have is to want to have higher FPS to just hurt people as that is all that higher FPS does, hurt more, so maybe you're not suited to the sport...

All I can see in the future is airsoft will go the same way as guns and having to have proper background checks and regulations that will just stifle the sport and all because some want to push their luck.

Increasing the power can land you in trouble, serious trouble in the UK as the laws are ON THE  power and not FPS because FPS is the combination of the mass and the power, the FPS is variable based on how you select your load. SO you have a limited scope to work with, if you want to play with the law, remember that as soon as you break the JOULES LEGAL LIMIT it became an actual firearms offence, just possessing it is an offence and your choice if you want to play with the law like that. Its not the VCRA that airsoft is governed by, its also HSE and Firearms laws and Police and Crime act and several other laws that will be lurking in the wings.

    Summary is this...

WORK WITH WHAT YOU GOT BY DOING THE MATH.

He did warn me off Tokya Murai though saying there are some reliability issues

Tech guy is an fucking idiot then.

He is pushing you towards the kwa as they probably get a better mark up them than they do the TM (if they sell the the TM at all)

Haven't had my hands on the newer kwa's but the old ones regularly had problems, nice guns but not as reliable as most TM guns.

Ackchyually, we had a good bun fight a while back about how we should be using direct measurements of impact energy, which would make the entire fps / BB mass issue moot.

Sadly, I couldn't find any cheap solid state components that claim to be able to measure the sort of small (energy and size) impulses that we'd be getting with anything like the required level of precision. So then you're left with trying to hit a pendulum and measure its swing, and it all goes a bit Rube Goldberg.

If you know the fps and weight and can get your shots through the chrono it is easy enough to work out.

I built a steel inner for my skan when I made replacements for the malls ones a few years back and tested it myself over 40mtrs in an indoor environment.

I have suggested people play with the Zero One calculator as it shows exactly what I am saying and I don't understand why people don't get this fact

Because you are looking at it too narrowly.

Your results are based on a chrono which is a couple of inches from the end of the barrel. A bb is very light and that low mass is hugely affected by air resistance.

All this has been done and proved ages ago and it was proved that a heavier bb bleeds off energy at a slower rate and after about 30ft if everything is set properly the heavier bb is equal to the lighter bb and after that is usually travelling faster.

Set your chrono about 35ft away and then test but make sure you use a real one not some £40 hobbyist one.

As the Joules is fixed, you have to decide where you want your joules to go, do you want velocity so you get the distance in the shortest time, hit your mark and bugger the energy dump

    OR

run with heavier BB's to run slower FPS and longer flight time but hit your mark and dump the energy in the BB in to the target.

Except that the fps evens out after a short distance and starts to swing towards the heavier weight bb as the lighter one bleeds off energy faster once it leaves the barrel.

And now I am running away before I get caught in another argument where people try and adjust facts to fit their point.

Disagree, it means turning up when gates open (in this case i have seen gates at 7/7:30am) and players not circle jerking over every little thing.

I have started taking two mags to crono, one empty and one loaded with playing weight.

It does come down to a 'by site' approach, a well advertised crono process would still be at the mercy of players and an off day for the marshals.

That's great if players are always honest about weight (some won't be) and sites trust the players (they won't).

Because otherwise It comes down to weighing declared ammo which would take ages and trusting they don't just walk out and swap or testing on multiple weights as a gun that struggles to feed or hop heavy ammo can fire low on heavy and high on low.

It is good your honest and most are but nothing said in this thread will actually stop the occasional hot gun either falling or being pushed through the cracks.

as has already been mentioned, as a mechanism to catch a determined cheater there's holes in pretty much any method you care to name.

the best we can hope for is to catch the honest but ignorant cases, the lazy cheaters and follow that up with decent in-game marshalling to weed out those who slip past.

i can't say i agree with the whole "being XYZ over doesn't really hurt any more", if that's the case why not raise the limits? why have limits at all?

it's all well and good to play the manly man who doesn't feel pain on the internet, but remember this hobby is supposed to be fun, and not everyone thinks pain is fun, and that is not a character flaw.

after all, if the energy of a hit doesn't matter why play airsoft instead of paintball?

It is not a case of trying to be manly it is just that the very slight increase in energy joule creep causes is pretty insignificant compared to the hassle of trying to stamp it out.

Only way to completely stop anybody ever being over is test all guns on three weights to try and cover all possibilities and that means on busy sites situations like opening chrono at 5am to start playing by 9am.

People using high power gas but chronoing on duster causes a much more significant jump than joule creep does but there isn't endless posts about sites only allowing green gas that has to be bought on site to try and stamp out that.

As I said earlier the jump between gas guns from a cold morning to an afternoon game can be quite a bit but again nothing ever gets said about that.

Sites that chrono every gun are already doing the best job they feasibly can and changing from fps to joules makes no difference as the fps charts for each weight correspond to the joules for each weight.

If you test a gun in joules you will still get exactly the same amount of people lying about weight as you would if you test in fps so round and round it goes.

Random checks are the best bet but I can tell you lots of players get arsey when randomly pulled out of games to be tested and then some poor marshal who isn't equipped to deal with confrontation is in a situation they can't cope with. Some people might scoff at that saying that is what they are there for but that is easy to to say when you are not facing down some ranting idiot with his mates stood behind him. Not every site has someone with that ability.

There will never be an easy fix because the truth is while most airsofters try to be decent some will be arseholes and no change in rules that doesn't involve 5hr chronos and security cameras in safe zones and so many other draconian things that would be needed to stop it occurring entirely. All that being implemented would mean you feel like you get your whole 90mins of playtime after queing all day for chrono in a concentration camp.

Not entirely true. My sniper runs at 460ish on 0.2's which is 2.29j on my set up. If I were to get it any closer to 500fps on 0.2's I'd be over in joules when I chuck some 0.46's down it. Hence there is a difference in measuring in them.

Actually entirely true as if over in joules on 0.46 in joules you will be over in fps on 0.46 too as both mediums correlate to each other the math is quite simple. The problem is there has too be a set medium for testing and unless you can guarantee players won't lie about weight then you are always going to get people creeping over.

The proliferation of HPA and heavy BBs.

If 1.15J is OK, why not 1.2J?

If 1.2J is OK, why not 1.3J?

If 1.3J is OK, why not... well, that's a section 5 firearm, but why make custodial offences out of molehills?

What next do we have everyone using gas guns re-chrono when the sun comes out?

The real world difference in getting shot by 1.1 and 1.3 joules is really fuck all so as players it doesn't really change our day.

So as long as people in the majority are sticking by the rules to appease the lawmakers which they do then the odd idiot trying to cheat is just life and impossible to completely stop.

Next stop is we should look into spoons as a teaspoon is almost a knife so ladles should be the norm because...........

The issue is the BB mass.  Either trusting players with regard to what they are using ("Yeah, mate, I'm using twos", when they're spamming 0.3g), or chronoing with site 0.2g when just about everybody will be using heavier BBs and likely[*] to be Joule creeping upwards.

The point is measuring in joules compared to fps is no different. If a gun reads high in joules on a chrono it will read high in fps as well.  Joule creep is impossible to police unless every player tests on the ammo they use and is honest, which they wont be and no site has time to weigh and adjust chrono each time. Also most sites use cheap chronos which give wildly different results compared to a decent calibrated chrono so people will regularly fire over but get low results and vice versa.

Using heavier ammo to test won't stop it as some guns struggle to feed and hop heavy ammo and this can lead to them firing ridiculously low on heavy ammo as it doesn't seat properly with a bad feed.  But stick in 0.2s or 0.25s and they can be hot.

Joule creep is not as common as people seem to think and it's effects are rarely of much significance.  The normal way of testing on 0.2s has been fine for years and I am yet to see anyone get severely injured from being shot with a hot gun. So why people need to cause so much of a fuss about it in the last few years is beyond me.

Actually it doesn't suprise me as we have created a society that has nothing better to do than build mountains out of mole hills.
