    EDcase,

This is brilliant stuff so thanks, just what is needed to resolve this issue.  The more 'ways to cheat' or problems as I see them the better in order to eliminate them at the chronograph testing procedure.

Regards the players who cheat the Chrono via applying too much hop: This would be difficult to police and I would like to think that sites have a very well airsoft educated/time-served Marshall carrying out the chronograph tests.  This way the Marshall could jot the players name down if he/she had an incline that the rif was over-hopped and could carry out a random Chrono shortly after game start.

Easiest way for any site is to test using their own bbs and run one standard weight. When working a chrono and trying to rush players through all the faff of different weights is just to much hassle. Testing in fps is no different to joules and people like to make some big issue out of something that isn't.

No marshall will spot an overhopped gun on chrono as they are looking at the reading not flight path. If players will want to cheat they will changing gas on gbb is the easiest and impossible to police.

I wouldn't worry about safety either as I used to play cqb games running over 500fps and  had nothing, but a springer tri shot doing about 280 fractured my finger so it is just luck of the draw. So a few fps difference with joule creep will not add much if anything to the pain or safety of it.

Does that assurance come with a guarantee that you'll drill them out when they snap?

The selectors appear to be plastic.

You know what else puts heat in?  Drilling the heads off.  That also ends the debate.

They're already trashed, so the easiest option is to drill the heads off, which takes a few seconds each, I've have done both of them in a New York minute eleventeen posts ago, and we could have skipped all the "Why-you-oughta" after that.

I mean, you could use a left-hand bit, and maybe they'll break loose and spin out before the heads come off. But either way, subtlety is for when you're trying to save the fastener.  Those are dead, dismember the corpses and move on.

I bow down to your expertise it is not like I have made a decent living out of this sort of stuff for the last 28yrs.

I wouldn't use one on a fastening that size, i.e. with the tiny extractor that you'd have to use. There's a risk of snapping the extractor, and you might end up with piece of hardened steel to drill through as well.  Ask me how I know (spoiler: see above).  I contrast that with Irwins bolt extractors which I'll reach for in preference to sockets any time I don't care about saving the fastener.

As to slotting it, I'd be surprised if you could do it without cutting into the selector itself.

Just drill the head off, you've already got a nice centring hole for it. ;)

Decent screw extractors would be fine but it would need heating up first as there is probably a too strong threadlock involved in this problem. Cutting slots is quite often a recipe for disaster and makes me cringe every time I hear it mentioned as quite often that will just tear as well.

Easiest option is to heat the screw with a soldering iron then tap it round with a punch or flat bladed screw driver. As long as you are gentle this always works.

Then buy some Wera Hex Plus keys and stop it happening again as this is often caused by people using poorly made allen keys that they bought from amazon or halfords.

How do you mean? The fps is going to be site legal.

I think he means that anybody getting hosed by that on full auto is going to be a bit pissed off.

Site legal is one thing but taking 15 hits when one or two will do will annoy some people to the point words will be had.

So if an ad had "upgraded by (insert reputable shop/tech) with (insert parts list)", this would be given serious consideration, if of course it was the item you were looking for (as long as the sellar wasnt trying to recoup the cost of work done)?

I guess to answer that myself, yes if it was The Item, it would get consideration. But then, there is the whole new boxed smell (read: warranty) thing.

No because some of the most fucked up guns I have ever had to sort were put that way by so called reputable shops/techs.

There are very few people out there who actually do good work as most techs just change parts without ever really understanding just because part a and part b are good that they don't actually work well together.

Most guns that are built require a certain amount of matching parts and then fine tuning of those parts to get the results and reliability to be what I would call an upgrade.

There is a reason that all my personal aegs have the gearbox shells made not bought off a shelf to match the build.

I dare say that sliding scale is the age/generational (I say this as a 31 year old, with no actual idea what ages everyone else is so this could turn out to be utter nonsense)

Partly generational as I am a bit older at 45 but I would say in my case it is more based on societal. As I said I grew in Bham surrounded by all cultures so my friend group was always very varied and that meant racial jokes were the norm and still are. There was never any real racism though it was just banter and no one got offended, my mates dad who was from Trinidad was an encyclopedia of white boy jokes and gave me hell for years and it was hilarious. So I suppose I am more thick skinned about it all, especially growing up on a council estate where giving each other shit was like a tradition.

Also I see stuff from my friends points of view and quite a few black friends have said that their blackness feels like it is more of an issue now than ever with all the constant talk. I actually had a friend walk out of a job because he said the diversity there felt like stealth racism and he needs nothing handing to him because of some racial pandering. Racism comes in many forms and the only way to beat it is just treat people as people and lets stop looking for issues as that just keeps things alive.

Genuine question, you don’t think ‘slitty eyed little yellow friend’ is way over the line? As stated earlier before I seemingly started getting dog piled for thinking racist comments of any ilk aren’t appropriate, that’s the one that led me to saying something. As you say, I don’t think Druid’s was appropriate but that had seemingly been discussed before I said anything.

Disagree with your conclusion there, but you’re entitled to it. It was edited after posting, but there was a comment made suggesting I should kill myself for my opinion earlier so I figure most things are fair game from there. I don’t think I’ve gone any further nor got any more personal than anyone else.

No it is a bit stupid but not racism, mocking accents and appearances is just part of the usual man banter bullshit. I class racism as anything that is about dragging others down and treating them like they are less than you. While we can all do that to individuals who irk us doing it to a race based on some bullshit like skin colour or cultural differences that people probably don't even understand is just pathetic.

As for someone telling you to go kill yourself I didn't see it and if I had my response would have been harsher than yours as that is crossing a line.

  8. 12 minutes ago, alxndrhll said:

Clearly. The main point at which I’m lost is why some racism is fine and some not? And moreover, the need for any of it on here. Every fucker else seems to manage avoiding it, it’s not a melting pot at all. The same few folks every time. The same reasoning for doing it every time. The same reasons for justifying it every time.

Never seen any real racism on here so don't know where you are going with that statement. Druids joke is about as bad as I have ever seen and while I don't think it is really necessary or funny I wouldn't scream racism. I do agree that what goes on between friends is different to how you deal with general public but at the same time people have taken the sjw bit to an absurd level lately.

Seems like the only one who is really making generalisations and attacking anybody is you.

  9. Bloody hell the I'm offended mob are everywhere.

Funny thing is the ones who always seem most offended are those that live insular lives where they barely know anyone of different race. I grew up Birmingham during the 80s/90s and saw some real racism but funnily enough all the older people who actually experienced it just laugh it off and find all the shit going on now as farcial. The younger generation who have never had it as bad seem to be the ones who shout loudest, especially the white self righteous ones.

While racism is bad people need to realise that what ever race experiences it is quite capable of standing up for themselves and don’t need someone who has never lived it trying to fight their battles for them.

  10. The one thing you need to think about is your play style as while everyone here just shouts get a TM that might not be what is best.

The correct ergonomics and weight can make the biggest difference to your day and to my mind trump everything as I can still do well with a gun that shoots like shit but is comfortable in the hand but not the other way.

From arm length to hand to speed and agility of player all are things to consider.

Take the glock mentioned above they are great performing pistols but for my hands they are not a good fit and that drops my accuracy especially at speed by half at least.

Look at everything and imagine holding it all day, is the grip good does the trigger and guard suit your fingers, safety switch and mag release are they right. All that effects your day as comfort trumps everything.

Probably sitting in a Bush in a night game and listening to a couple of opfor on the other side of said bush discussing how they're going to flush me out, even down to the 3 2 1 countdown. The whole time I was biting down on my hand to stop myself giggling or shouting mildly piss taking comments to them

That reminds me of a time at the mall I was creeping round the basement and heard two players plotting how they were going to tell the marshalls I was blindfiring and not taking hits to try and get me kicked because they were sick of me shooting them.

It was a happy day 😁

Me three ! I do love a bit of TM when I wanna shoot my white load over someone ! 🥴

Was recommended to to partake of this thread simply for this mongtard as I don’t have an interest in gas rifles (so I was missing the party ) glad I did now , on a scale of “la la la I’m not listening !” To “it’s my ball so if you won’t let me score a goal I’m taking it home !”
He’s definitely a solid “because my mummy said you must so there !” 🤦‍♂️
    🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Mate you missed all the best bits because @Jedi_Master the miserable fucker deleted it😜

Shooting someone carrying a replica, imo, would end Airsoft. As we know it, anyway.

UK armed police are known for their restraint, and I'd like to keep it that way - although I appreciate the increased risk to Officers.

Yep it would go from small news story to major headline and do gooders marching with placards if there was a fatal incident, cops did good.

That’s good to hear, I think it’s just a shame that they try to make everything proprietary. Does that weird ‘receiver extension’ come off? Or is it going to make stock changes impossible?

Erm wasn't you going by the name Sboardley yesterday when you were trying to ruin his swaps post and l pointed out you were acting like a twat?

Now you are using a misspelt version of my forum name🤔 what sort of weird shit is that?

  15. I reckon this will be a common situation for a lot of people as the covid situation calms down. After over a year of less rushing around to do stuff and just concentrating on the core part of life I think lots of us have become apathetic to all the stuff we surrounded ourselves with before. I was an anti social bastard before but I have even less will to go out and put up with life's bullshit now.  Kind of realised all the rushing blurred the rest of life too much and I am enjoying concentrating on the important bits again like family and sleep.

I would guess for most the laziness will wear off but some will stick with the comfy insular slower pace as they will have learnt to enjoy actually stopping for 5 minutes.

  16. I would say there are several different categories.

I have no interest in collecting gear or how it looks everything is about performance. But at the same time I don't scrimp on cost and my few main guns have probably cost more individually than most people spend on their whole collection but that is for me only and not for gucci bragging rights. All I want is to the have best performing and most reliable tool I can have and who it is made by or how it looks is irrelevant as the game is all that matters. Have one or hundreds, spend little or loads just be happy in your own choices.

I do appreciate a good load out though and the effort people put into it, right up until they start prancing and preening for attention then I consign everything about them to the nobhead category.

There are actually probably nearly as many categories as there are claimed genders but for ease of use the two broad categories are people who you want playing next to you and those you don't, everything else is irrelevant.

Equally why would you drop any mags?

Because he likes giving away free mags to the chavs at his local cqb site maybe?

To the op- As someone who prefers cqb trust me no one other than the retards who think they look tacticool drop their mags on the floor.

Good players have big pockets or dump pouches because no one looks more stupid than Spec ops Jimmy wandering around looking for all the mags he lost so he can play the next game.

Only people who are wrong though. ;)

I was interested to note that Luke has a day job and isn't reliant on running a site or teching to pay the mortgage.  I rather suspect that this is what allows him to be so generous with time and parts.

I wouldn't say only people who are wrong as that seems a bit of a fanboyish statement.  He is a genuinely decent guy who prefers to get on with people but sometimes offends because he has a busted filter on occasion. Whether that is him or just people being a bit thin skinned is up to individual interpretation.

Correct he has always previously worked outside of airsoft teching but not sure if Negative has gone full time for him now as it has taken off very well. He is generous as you put it because he doesn't try to rip people off, he charges a fair hourly rate and only does what is required rather than adding unnecessary sparkly bits to take advantage of customers. I will always say that while he is a decent tech his best tool is that fact he actually gives a shit about the customer not just the money.
