I’ve sold stuff for mates before and been transparent in the description that it is a friends gun. However, I’ve also explained to my friends that if it goes missing in the post or something is wrong with the rifle that they need to give the money back (in the case it goes missing) or they accept a return. Had my second game day since breaking my ankle yesterday, at Sextion8 up here in Scotland. Still having to take it steady, especially as the site is both very rough terrain being a plantation forest site, and had gotten a little boggy with the rain lately. Managed to get to about 2:30 before my hip seized up and I went back to the car for a lie down. First outing for my bolt action Mk12 and my VFC AK74M. The Mk12 performed excellently, absolutely uncanny range on it. It's really nice having AR ergonomics on a sniper. The VFC AK was just a solid performer and very fun. I seem to have a very strange hop issue with both guns though, if anyone has some advice. I'd shoot at a guy and watch the BB fly right to them, but just before impact it would disappear. Very strange. Many shots where I was sure I saw the BB hit through a magnified scope, it simply didn't. Maybe a trick of the light? My opponents seemed to flinch at the BB disappearing but appeared unhit. That aside, very fun day overall. Hip issues aside I managed to keep up and keep pushing for most of the day, and I think that's not bad going. Still having trouble explaining what Airsoft is to my Physio but she says it sounds like good exercise either way.2 points -

Great day at Apocalypse Kent yesterday, starting to have abetter understanding of the map now. Took a mate with me so packed the MP5K, LCT G3 (its first outing) and WE SIG 226 for me an my spare MP5 and spare WE SIG 226 for my mate, with his favourite bit of kit the 1200 round drum mag. Weather was good, not too hot but muggy towards the end. Shop well stocked and I picked up a big pot of BB's as my mate went full auto for most of the day. First game was Bring your teams flag (Blue or Red) back to your base and then try and take the extra (Yellow flag) to your enemy's base as if it was an explosive and try and keep it there. Was a hot and heated game with Ghilles sending defenders back to re spawn at an alarming rate. Strange end to the game with the Blue team camped out in the Red base and Blue team camped out in the Red base, Red team won as they took the Yellow flag to the Blue base with them. After lunch the Blue team had the honour of moving three explosive devices (big cases) to three locations to blow them up. It was tough as they had to do it in order and each box could only be carried by specific (marked) team memebers, if made it to two of the locations they won if the Reds could keep them out of two they won. Reds camped out in the first and second locations and picked off the case carriers. Blues got the first location but it was late in the game so win to the Reds. There was a medical issue in the second game so while that was being taken care of the third game was moved to the village and run as a very tight, semi only CQB. Stick in a bucket in the middle of the village if it was Red at the top they won if it was Blue at the top they won. Blues were first into the village and held it for the first half of the game but the Reds flanked both sides and picked them off then covered the Blue route back from their respawn. Red win for this game and more critically the medical was sorted and guy was recovered to fight another day. MP5K is still intermittently losing full auto and having feeding/consistency issues which needs a proper tech to sort as its above my pay grade. G3 shot well but it's a heavy lump for sub 350fps so needs DMR'ing quickly to make it worth the weight penalty. SIG was epic and used to great effect in the CQB game at the end. Mate loved the MP5 and as expected went full auto for the first two games and went to mid cap sticks for the semi only final game, I think he enjoyed the SIG but full auto is his thing I can see a LMG or mini gun in his future. There were a few called out for not taking hits but I think it was mostly shooters overestimating their skill (and range) and calling players out at 70m where there was no chance of them making the hit with a 1j AEG. A few Ghilles made the game tough so my rule of shoot at any bush that moves worked quite well. Fun day had by all!! Hope to get my EBB AK back from the menders this week Crack on and get the G3 booked in and built MP5K is going back tomorrow as its still under warranty2 points -

The recoil is amazing 👏 my ears ring after a couple of shots. Reliability? Not sure yet only had it three days. Seem bomb proof though. Accuracy is brilliant i find, slinging the .3s I've got for fun. It came with a co2 mag and a moderator. Pretty sure the moderator makes it louder? Lol. Haven't tried the co2 mag and probably won't. But yeah vfc fan boi for life 😂 Do plan any getting the ak maybe for Christmas 🎄2 points -
Another day at my regular field (dirty dog, Shildon). Bit of a test day for new kit for all the usual team. Ran my cm.045c all day and for a totally stock gun I have never been more impressed from a price to performance stand point. Hoyed .28s at a great range and accuracy and had absolutely no issues with it. Swapped some attachments and furniture after the game purely to get it to a point where the ergonomics are most comfortable for me. Our squad support gunner brought his a&k pkm out for its first run and it thankfully had none of the issues the platform is known for and was able to get enough plastic down range consistently that we had no issues with effective fire and manoeuvre. All the other players were absolutely great sports, (big shout out to the two players who acted as medics that joined our little squad for the day), except the grown adult who chose not to wear mouth pro and had a full on toddler meltdown when he got shot in the teeth poking his head around a corner. Definitely some updates to my load bearing gear needed but a top notch day topped off with a birra moretti and a good bit of slow cooked ham when back at home.2 points

@Lyndication Are you looking through just sights or do you have any form of extra electronics such as a ‘scope cam’? A digital view may still have digital artifacts from the BBs path, making it easier to ‘see’ in flight as it is continuing its route but suddenly ‘disappear’ as it loses power and has more of a drop To a lesser degree we can optically see something similar in that the brain sees it where it expects to see it, but the power drop takes it out of the expected area There may also be lighting / contrast effects as it passes though areas - more ‘lit up’ in the open flight area and perhaps a darker area when you get to their cover The flinch is the giveaway - perhaps it’s an ‘oh shit’ millisecond when BBs are spotted, but typically it would indicate that they have been hit and therefore have opted to not take the hit Note that ‘in action’ BBs are deceptive - you notice lots of BBs arriving near you, and surely yours must be arriving near them as you can see their flight line. But fire lines are often at the extent of a range, ineffective fire could be arriving at both ends landing at each others feet A potential tip is to angle your fire upwards, an optimum arc then gains a few extra feet ….. a second tip is that it you are in the woods with tree cover that prevents arcing upwards is to lower your weapon, angled upwards and you gain approx half your height - a ‘normal’ person would kneel down to lower their line of fire, but it you want to add some embarrassment hold your gun down at crotch level / between your legs1 point

Means nothing, usually rare to see a bb in flight (unless its from an aep🐌 🤣), but the flinching, that's a big red flag.1 point

Today was an invitation only event at Airsoft Plantation; 32 players were present along with a player marshal on each side. The first game of the day had two stages; in the first, we had to defend a stretcher that we had hidden in the bunker in the mortar pits area; once the red team captured it, we switched to stage 2 where they had to get it, with a player on it, to the plane at the DEA base. We had one life in each location, while the attackers had infinite buddy regens after a 30 m fallback. I took up a position on the far side of the mortar pits, where I would be able to help defend against any enemy who tried to swing round and attack from that side. Some of them did and they were sent back to find a colleague to regen on. After doing this a few times, an attacker and I traded kills and I wandered off to the DEA base, where I set up in a favourite bush. We held up their advance on the DEA base for quite a while, despite being attacked from 180 degrees. Eventually a wafty shot came wandering into the bush, touching me very gently on the leg. In the reverse of this, a group of us swung around the mortar pits and attacked from the far side, which we seemed to clear out rather quickly, as other colleagues moved in from other directions. A brilliant grenade attack on the top deck of the bus cleared out the last defenders and we located the stretcher in the horse box. After a slightly reluctant player had taken up position on the stretcher, we set off for the DEA base, with the stretcher team being held back until the area was cleared. Our little group pushed around to the right, slowly helping to clear out the very determined defenders so that the stretcher could be rushed to the plane in a time that was a mere 45 seconds faster than the red team had managed. After the usual short break to reload etc, we set out to defend two crates of beer that we could locate anywhere we chose in the village; I hid one in the fuel dump. We had two lives in the village, while the attackers again had infinite regens, this time at the silver birch, which was also their start point. The enemy attack opened with a barrage of grenades, which had very little effect as they mostly fell short. Fighting on our left, I was with a group who held up the enemy on that side for a considerable time, although we were slowly being ground down. Eventually, I was hit and fell back to the fuel dump, where I was finally hit from a slightly unexpected direction. When this was reversed, I went into the village through the suburbs, taking out a few enemy players as we slowly cleared out the defenders. However, we could not locate the crates of beer; eventually, I found one secreted in a large wooden crate, which the marshals decided was an ungentlemanly place to hide it and imposed a time penalty on the defenders. The other one was finally found hidden under the barrel barricade. Lucheon was then taken, which meant cold pizza for me; yum! After we had dined, we went out for a free for all in the woods. Once you were hit, you joined the player who shot you if they could put their hand on you within 10 seconds. If they couldn't, you were on your own again until someone managed to hit you and claim you. Another player and I traded shots, forming a two person team; we quickly acquired a couple of colleagues and set up a perimeter about 25m behind the kill house, backed up against the earth bank, which we held throughout the game, preventing the enemy getting a hand on our shot colleagues and reclaiming them ourselves. By the end of the game, we had been reduced to a team of three, as one of us got a bit too far away and was shot and claimed by the group that had occupied the kill house. It was a chaotic and rather fun game. The next game required us to prevent the attackers, who started at the border, obtaining an ammo box from the ridge fort and transporting it to the wobbly bridge. We had two lives in front of the wobbly bridge and one beyond it; the attackers had infinite buddy regens after a 30m fall back. I took up a position on the far right, hoping to ambush any attackers who came that way. After taking out a couple, I was delighted to see the opposing team's player marshal carefully picking his way along the site boundary; he then had to climb over a large fallen tree, after which I double tapped him. He took his cowboy hat off, threw it to the floor and sank down while proclaiming "I give up!" before getting up again and trudging off. I then set off to shoot the attackers in the back, which I did several times before they finally got the ammo box to the bridge that wobbles. Several players had to leave at this point; those of us who remained went to the village. After the teams had been rebalanced, we played a quick game of last team standing. The teams started at opposite ends of the village with everyone having one life; the winners would be the team that the last surviving player belonged to. I moved up along our right, taking out a couple of enemy players before I was hit and sent back to the safe zone, ending my day. It was a good, old fashioned day of airsoft. AP is a huge site that easily absorbs 200+ players; playing with a fraction of that number really changes the dynamics, resulting in a very different experience. Went to Gunman Alpha yesterday for a themed ‘90s game. It was the invented nation of Sahud occupied by Russians vs the NATO forces. Everyone made lots of effort with period kit and it worked really nicely. The event really leant into the roleplay element and the whole day was tracked with a giant ‘morale-o-meter’. In short the Sahudi’s has tasks to do to make rebellion popular with the people, while the NATO forces had to win hearts and minds. For lots of tasks there were different ways of going about it, and some outcomes would have positive effects on the morale, some outcomes negative. I was on the Sahudi ‘side’ but myself and another were actually CIA operatives under cover. We kept well hidden within the Sahudi team, until we were eventually assassinated by our own NATO forces, who opted to put spent Russian cartridges around our bodies to sow seeds of discord into the Sahudi/Russian alliance. It was interesting focusing more on the roleplay rather than the shooty shooty and the first time I’ve done this sort of game. I wouldn’t want to do it every weekend but it was cool to try. If you fancy it but don’t have the kit, Gunman has a huge stockpile of stuff, with lots of people borrowing period kit for the weekend. Not sure when the next one is, but I’ll go again.1 point -

Apologies for reviving a dead thread (haven't been here for a while) however I thought I'd explain what happened here. I didn't wish to explain it in detail at the time but seeing how it's been misinterpreted here, I thought I'd clear things up A long while before the member contacted UKAPU, he had attempted to import airsoft replicas into the UK however poorly explained his defence to Border Force. Off the back of that misunderstanding they seized his entire consignment, and it turns out that one crucial letter that was supposed to be sent by BF didn't make its way to the member. That'll be important later. Several months later he gets in touch with us, fails to win the appeal with BF so off he went to the tax tribunal. Several more months after that, we're all in what basically is a Zoom call with a judge, his clerk, a couple of folks from the Home Office and their solicitor. Rather than deal with legislation related to the airsoft defences, the judge quite rightly spotted the procedural issue (the missing letter) and directed the Home Office (so, BF) to reconsider the member's condemnation appeal, in full consideration of any valid defences. The judge remarked how complicated legislation related to airsoft was (the written submission I put together was rather extensive), so I suspect he was rather very happy to find a procedural issue he immediately issue a judgment against, rather than needing to dive into figuring out intended meanings of statutory instruments.1 point
