As someone who has worked in airsoft retail, the mark up on stock is VERY low and the overheads is always high, you may be OK to ask for a discount if you are bulk buying things but it's not like the industry I'm in now (Swiss watches) where you can haggle a little The best thing I heard about airsoft retail is To become a millionaire in airsoft, you have to start with 2 million Behave 😂5 points -

It's pretty near impossible for something imported to be more expensive unless you're buying extremely rare items or buying from stores that hyperinflate prices off the get go (RWA or WGC). Also strength of USD to GBP is fairly irrelevant, if the store is using HKD or NTD as its primary currency.3 points -

Untill it's not. I personally have had to wait almost two months for a gun to clear customs, going back and forth with the carrier. There are also lots of people who have had guns dead on arrival with no come back. We also have to remember the Dollar is doing shite at the moment (not up to when it was $2 to £ like it was in the early 2000s) but this last year you didn't save money importing. A few times I payed more than I would in the UK but no one in the UK had them in stock.2 points

Don't fancy my chances with this one.... looks well warn out already. Hahaha On the ops question. It would be great to keep the forums going. Easy to navigate, find the right sections etc etc. I actually prefer them. But unfortunately, newer generations just want to post and move on Like with other platforms. Plus I've actually found that some people don't like forums, because you can't delete/hide negative comments. So on fb, if you make a post. You have control over who can comment etc. And still come out smelling of roses. Here, they have to face the honest truth, and can't hide from it!... Plus they can't be arsed to do the research themselves, where they can just keep asking the same 5 questions over and over hahaha. But I'm game to keep the forum as much as possible. I'd be interested to know how much it costs to run a forum. I'm not tech minded, so is a genuine interest here?1 point -

I have no finance knowledge I have just found that when the dollar is weak against the pound other currencies ie Hong Kong dollar is weak (there maybe no colloration what so ever but it's just what I observed) and untill relatively recently once you added on postage and import taxes you weren't saving (or the savings was negligible). Sorry miss type meant to write "this time last year"1 point -

In the last year i've imported a bunch of guns and consistently saved 30-40% all said and done. One package was stuck in customs for weeks, but it eventually cleared and all was well.1 point -

I import cos I'm a bit cheap lmao. People will buy a million things off Ali Express then act like importing a RIF will get you shot, it's a little silly. Worst case scenario yeah it gets held up a bit but it's pretty rare so long as the UKARA is denoted on the package. Getting a lemon on arrival sucks but the advantage of GBBRs is that it's rarely fatal unless the gun is cracked in half or something. I've had lemons from "trusted" techs and UK shops with some headaches remedying it, so it's par for the course IMO. Also yeah, USD can go full Zimbabwe Dollar but it doesn't affect NTD - GBP exchange rates.1 point -

It's an exaggeration Lyndication, if you can confidently order from abroad in to the UK like most experienced GBBR owners then the price is not 'cracking' fair enough. But to those that steer clear from importing or aren't aware of Imported prices the gun is fairly priced. That's why it's 'plebeian', The most common GBBR user in the UK are just gonna buy based on UK prices. Could be generalisation like but that's what I meant. Think things might have got misunderstood there fella apologies.1 point -

How is it plebeian to use the more expensive option? If you have UKARA then importing is literally a piece of piss.1 point -

Are the guns you are wanting to purchase popular ones? MWS, AAP etc? I would say no. It's not beneficial for them to sell stuff at a discount which will probably walk out the door at standard price. If it's oddball stuff than you have a much better shot.1 point -

Or for the more discerning lover who wants a bit of maturity without too much grey wool, you'll want a Hogget. Lamb 0-12 months (hard to catch) Hogget 12-24 months (spritely with attitude) Mutton 24+ months (doesn't care what colour your wellies are) 😉1 point -

Selling my pride and joy, unfortunately I don't skirmish it much compared to my other pistols, so selling this off to a good home. main upgraded internal parts are the CTM Lightweight bolt in gold, as well as a 200% recoil spring, results in a very snappy pistol. I've also added a semi only plate onto the bolt. Rest of the internal parts are stock. It does have some scratches on the top of the receiver which i've shown on the photos Externally comes with the CTM Wood grips which i've stained and varnished. Asking for £140 which includes postage and packaging + paypal fees Note, it does not come with a magazine£140
