Picked up a boneyard WE GBBR for something to tinker with over the winter... only to find it wasn't actually broken unless i'm yet to stumble over the real issue. I was told that the nozzle return spring was broke and there 'may be more wrong with it'. The mag has a tiny tiny tiny leak but that likely just needs seals lubing. First attempt at testing it was a dud - it sounded like the hammer dropped but it didnt actually fire. I split the receiver to find a BB was stuck between the hammer and mechanism housing so it was releasing the hammer which then jammed on the BB so it wouldn't shoot. Second attempt at testing worked fine - made it through a whole mag no issue and the bolt held open when empty. I removed the bolt and disassembled it - the stock nozzle spring is totally fine. If anything it's a little weak which could have lead to the incorrect diagnosis(?) so I replaced it with a £10 AngryGun replacement i'd already bought. This spring is a bit twangy so I may go back in and give it a light coating of grease as i've read that's a good way of damping noise. Regardless, I tested it again and it's running totally fine and at the start of the mag it chrono's at 345fps on .20g. Not a big fan of the KAC handguard or the A2 front sight post/gas block setup or the standard stock. Not sure what i'm going to do with it aesthetically - might have to go back through the M4 picture thread and take inspiration from there. Good thing about the way it's made is that the outer barrel is threaded just after the A2 front sight post so I can turn it into a shorter barrel setup really easily.4 points -

So for a long time my a&k pkm was my most used gun. I loved it but I hit a point where I desperately needed money to buy stock for my business. And so it was sold. I did miss it a lot and recently things have gotten more stable. Then this lct full steel pkp popped up and here we are. Makes me glad ive been working out. Unfortunately my normal rifle slings are making unhappy noises at me under the 11kg (not including the handguard on it and the optic I will be putting on it) if anyone has a a recommendation for a good padded sling id be happy to hear them as I intend to run this a lot.2 points -

Yes, the technical thing - just enabling multifactor authentication would be a deterrent to spam accounts in itself, and also make it slightly less likely for accounts to be compromised (Not impossible, just a more difficult). Maybe worthwhile considering requiring 2FA for access to marketplace, as it could be enough of a deterrence for scammers to not bother (would also make identifying repeat offenders easier theoretically).1 point

Just nabbed a mimimi sling though its a desert one so it will need some spray paint. The gpmg slings seem to be impossible to find for under £40 but the minimi one was £13 posted so thanks!1 point -

I don’t know why anyone would buy it for the exact same retail price and it not been used at all compare that to second hand when it’s been used, the fact that it has been used shouldn’t have it setting on here at 500 plus postage, more like 400 or lower unless you actually bundled more with it but that’s just my take1 point -
Yeah some things shrink in the cold, but I don't think you should stick them in airsoft guns, it's not safe..1 point

So I’ve had an AKX since the week it was released. As of yet, it hasn’t skipped a beat. The only “reliability” issues I’ve seen are so infrequent that it’s likely just bad luck. my trigger box arrived in a non-working condition. But it was just a spring that hasn’t been fitted properly. Took 5 minutes to fix. But I’m the only AKX owner I know of who’s actually had issues of any sort that aren’t related to modifications. I’m hopping 0.28s out to 45m and getting headshots. The hop dial is still down at below 50%. I reckon I could run far heavier bbs at longer range if need be. Upgrades that are absolutely necessary: - Bavtac/bowmaster/jaeger power down valve. upgrades I’d highly recommend - jaeger hop arm - pink flamingo hop rubber - Bowmaster 130% recoil spring - Magpul MOE+ AK grip Other upgrades I’ve gone with: - bowmaster full steel trigger mechanism - tight bore SS barrel - AB-8R stock - Hephaestus steel selector - Hephaestus steel trigger - Hephaestus heavy weight piston Maintenance wise: - Clean the inner barrel out after every game day. If bought brand new, it comes with a barrel cleaning rod. Use strips of dry microfibre cloth or microfibre cloth soaked in IPA. - I always wipe din the bolt and brush out the lower receiver after a game day. - use a decent metal on metal lubricant for the lower receiver and bolt. I use white lithium, but I don’t recommend it as it’s quite easy to over apply and make worse. - use a decent silicone oil for plastic on metal surfaces. - spend some time learning how to strip and disassemble the bolt/nozzle unit and the trigger mechanism. Hopefully you never need to open the trigger mechanism… but you’ll definitely need to learn about the nozzle as you’ll need to fit the power down nozzle valve. Jaeger precision and commie bear Airsoft do some good videos that taught me a lot.1 point -

I have the AKM, which is basically the same platform and it's a fantastic piece of kit. Never had any reliability issues, though my friend had his nozzle break after a over two years of fairly heavy use; he used it for a lot of game days and the nozzle eventually gave up. Mine has been just fine, but I don't use it as much because I'm more into the MWS. For upgrades, all I'd do is swap the hop rubber for a Flamingo rubber and swap out the hop arm for Jaeger Precision's hop arm as it's amazing: https://jaegerprecision.co.uk/shop/p/ne7ayhxn2g8eyi4mpl7ulzbzkvl234-a8gw4 For maintenance, just treat it like a real rifle and clean and relube it after each game day. It's fine to use in the rain and I tend to use GBBRs when it's heavily raining because there are no complex electronics that can get wet and ruined, just make sure afterwards you take it out of the rifle bag and let it dry out. I usually field strip my GBBRs if it's been really wet and just leave the parts out on my desk for a day or two to let them dry before I clean and relube it. Don't put it in an airing cupboard though as that can dry out the hop rubber; just keeping it out and letting it air dry in a regular room is enough.1 point -

Had my Detonator CNC slide set & Trijicon style suppressor night-sights delivered today. As per @JimFromHorsham's one, very veery nice indeed with spot-on manufacture. Cheers for that headsup Jim 🙏 Took the liberty of fitting at the same time a WII Tech 200% recoil spring set, WII Tech CNC enhanced spring bushing & WII Tech CNC Steel Recoil Spring Guide Rod. Already had a Nine Ball 6.03 barrel, bucking, gas routers and Bomber CNC optic adaptor + Vortex CCW. Fitted and a happy Mr Dellski.1 point
