Can't understand why people persist in trying to resurrect the FB Airsoft groups that keep getting closed down, new variants on a name etc won't change the fact that FB opposes anything that relates to guns, even toy ones, & half the population of said FB pages are juvenile cockwombles that can't follow the simplest of rules. The sensible members need to give up flogging a dead horse & migrate back to the forums such as this one. As for the cockwombles, they can just fuck off full stop π.3 points

This is why I put a Nano ASR in mine. At some point I might stick a WarFET in. But it works nicely as-is. I wouldn't run an 11.1v. Mine, like @RonLancs had overspin when I tested it. You can get a solid 15-16 RPS with just a high torque and 7.4v LiPo. That, and a 11.1v would be harder to get into the very limited battery space, whereas a 7.4v Turnigy Stick battery fits perfectly into the mock gas tube. Again, the gun is very usable out of the box, upgrades can come later.2 points -

Cyma upgrades? Bunch of cyma 140 round mid caps, Bag of geoffs and a cleaning rod If you really wanna push the boat out: E&c brass nozzle, new piston o ring, maple leaf macaron+omega nub, bit of air seal work and a warfet. Put it together right and on 11.1v you'll have an evil wee gat.2 points -

M100 Spring Low FPS
padraigthesniper reacted to Adolf Hamster for a topic
I'm suspecting air seal, but as a general rule its worth having at least one spring around you can be pretty sure of. Issue is the ratings of different springs can vary with different manufacturers. I've found asg's m95's tend to be pretty reliably 1j in most boxes but i've had m90's shoot higher and m110's shoot lower. What was the fps variance like before the change? Thats the best you can really do as a test of air seal quality.1 point -
I always do, did so in fact last night, although I'm not a member of many groups on there, when the question of selling etc comes up I'll always holler AFUK1 point

M100 Spring Low FPS
padraigthesniper reacted to Davegolf for a topic
Have you measured that inner barrel length yourself? I only ask as if it is closer to 200mm you are going to need a much stronger spring than M100 for 300 FPS let alone 3301 point -

Air seal issues are likely to be hop unit or piston. Gearbox should not be airtight at the back. Probably a daft question but you did try it with .20 BBs not heavier ones ( Ive done that before !) Nick1 point -

Iβve never found Facebook groups particularly helpful on subjects like this anyway, too much censorship/control not able to organise discussions or threads. This place is so much more helpful and easy to navigate IMO. Facebook does have its uses for quick updates or sharing of info/company adverts but thatβs where itβs limited.1 point

Might be looking at overspin with 11.1 I know I did. So aside from contact protection take that into consideration.1 point

Cyma Cm.045c
Zitch reacted to Adolf Hamster for a topic
really depends on what you want/how you play. something like a nanoasr will give basic contact protection easy enough. i'd stay away from using anything with active braking that doesn't also have precocking (which the warfet does), active brake on it's own has a nasty habit of causing lockups on ak boxes. precocking will give snappier trigger response in semi auto, the gun will run fine without it but if you do a lot of semi auto shooting it can be nice to have. reason i'd say the nanoasr is it's the same wiring on the gun as the warfet, so if you ever want to get something fancier it's plug and play (no point re-wiring the gun twice)1 point -
Yea I love tinkering and fixing things (Iβm an engineer) so I think I will end up probably teching more in the long run especially with the current climate. Good shout on getting something that is already working, I just enjoy brining things back to life, however I will need to have a level of understanding first so the working route is probably the best place to start.1 point
-
Awesome thanks for the replies guys, sounds pretty impressive out of the box. I am looking to get into teching but think my best bet would be getting hold of some boneyard items for that and leave the CM as stock until Iβm more confident and when it needs it.1 point

I stuck a Gate Nano ASR in mine, with 16AWG Alpha wire. Didn't make that much difference TBH. You can argue that it helps the trigger contacts, but I had guns running 2S LiPos for nearly a decade without a Mosfet and they never had an issue. Best upgrades are - a thorough barrel-clean (the stock barrel is decent enough), a new hop rubber/nub, adding a deans connector and maybe a higher torque motor. Total cost under Β£50. I would leave everything else stock until it breaks. Mine was actually reasonably well shimmed and greased out of the box. The CM.045 is a chunky thing (all AKs are), so once you start bolting things up front it becomes pretty nose-heavy. I found the stock grip to be a bit uncomfortable when trying to do stuff like reloading. A Β£5 Cyma Ergonomic grip helped sort that.1 point -
Oh its tempting at times, believe me ;-)1 point

Honestly, don't get sucked down the rabbit hole of upgrades like I and so many others have. My first gun was a Nuprol Delta Enforcer Β£219.00 new. The CM.045 was better in almost every way. I threw MONEY at the Nuprol and granted it turned out to be a beast but I would've been more than happy with the CYMA as my first'n.1 point

Airsoft4LifeD reacted to Davegolf for an advert
Oh I appreciate his skill for sure. But physics come into play, the energy is fixed owing to the FPS and BB weight, of which such an object can only fly so far with said energy. Without sending the BB via the moon 70M is pushing it for 330 FPS. Just keeping a lid on expectations and mis-information. All the best and good luck with the sale, genuinely an awesome RIF for anyone wanting a quiver killer rifle, good price too.1 point -

Gg Gearbox Lock-up With 13.1 Upgrade
ak2m4 reacted to Sitting Duck for a topic
First of all... Big Dragon M160 = very quick high speed motor + 13:1 + 11.1v etc... Are you fucking nuts ??? that setup is going to hit 45rps on 11.1v and likely has suffered PME etc... that setup at say 350fps does 29/30rps aprox on 7.4v So when using 11.1v expect 30rps x 1.55 = 45/46rps It may have been more sensible to use the M140 motor with 13:1 on 7.4v or M160 with std 18:1 gears on 7.4v LiPo's to get aroubd 24rps (ish) or nudging into the 20's there abouts BD-M160 is just too fast imho and draws too many amps so shit runs too quick and too warm (please FFS people stop buying the M160 motor - it is toooo fast - no really it is) Them M160's will not be used as is, but armature replaced with more sensible ones I mean yeah - you can use them on std 18:1's but still the amps are a bit higher along with more heat (and over time the extra heat just fucks the bearing at the end bell - they are just too fast/warm imho) But even on std gears you should get 22~24rps on 7.4v & 35/36rps on 11.1v with 18:1 gears way too quick for a std UK gun on say m100/105 spring at around 25rps it will start to double fire on semi and to combat this you can Short Stroke it to a point to reduce overspin even then - it may be OK up to say 30~35rps once short stroked but approaching the potential speed you have designed it may risk PME at 45rps (well I've still smashed a 13:1 setup SS 3 teeth on a beefy 11.1v hitting into the forties at 340fps) They are not a wise choice of motor - even on 7.4v and on 11.1v - well you are just asking for rebuilds and picking teeth out of your gearbox and many of us have learnt the hard way about super fast motors & shit Design a build with a 25k to 30k motor aprox with 13:1's get into 20's just with a m120 spring SS a few teeth run with that - or if you want some insane zest a low 11.1v will get you into low 30's if you done the build perfect it will last for a while, but M160 on 11.1v...1 point -

I see, I have learnt many things! My plan was to run it at 1j or just below and use something like 0.25g BB's. I shall whack a Nov modular supressor on the end of it for maximum ssssshhhhh. I've got loads of different weights to okay around with so we shall see what I can achieve. I'll make a project thread when it's in hand!1 point
