  1. Just saw this on Facebook.

I never met the guy personally, but I have played at a couple of his sites on a number of occasions (Bunker and Valiant), each visit was a great experience.

Not everyone agreed with his opinions and his site rules could be a bit...divisive... but the airsoft community (particularly in the south) has lost a powerhouse.

He's been talking for some time about the transition of management for the respective sites, so I am glad to see that UCAP isn't going anywhere for the foreseeable.

Do we have any wizards here who could create an STL file for a drop stock using the new ESA2 system for the specnas with the twist lock and extended spring guide tube?
There was one I bought on Cults3d but im definitely not knowelegable enough to edit the STL file to make the necessary changes :(

Yeah - that's me - those are my guns, although I binned off that Specna a couple of years ago because it was shite, and never bothered selling the ICS-specific design because I couldn't route the wiring in a way that I was happy with.

I've posted an STL file on your thread - no idea if it'll work or not.

  3. @StuartyAlec - You posted on my Cults 3D page asking for an updated version of the Specna Drop-stock that I designed a few years back.

Not knowing how far that extension protrudes from the back of the receiver- I eyeballed it to ~40mm and did a (very) quick and dirty stretch job.

Not pretty, but you are free to try it (assuming you have access to a 3D printer) on the understanding that you do not distribute or sell the design/prints.

No Idea if it'll fit or practical for use, so good luck finding out.

    STL File:

*REMOVED* - PM me if you want it.

  4. Saw this on FB - thankfully the Ambush Activites/Super5ives guys (and girls) are old school paintball that have moved into Airsoft and picked up on these very quickly.

I wouldn't play BBwarz with anything less than full (legit rated) paintball goggles/mask these days - LARPing tacticool realz be damned.

  5. I wouldn't touch either RIF with a barge pole.

Or any 'upgraded' 2nd hand gun.

Or pretty much any 2nd hand gun come to think of it.

Watch enough of Negative Airsoft's videos - you'll see why.

If you have to ask, then don't buy 2nd hand.

    This.

  6. It's more of an 'enthusiasts' gun rather than a 'players' one - much like G&G's C7 offering (Canada's service rifle).

Don't get me wrong - I'm sure it's a very decent performer with the G2 gearbox and would be great in more expansive playing areas.

But really it's intended for a small niche set of people that have specific military load outs (for LARPsoft or just enjoy collecting) and want the correct replica rifle to complement the rest of their gear. That, and I'm pretty sure that G&G sold these to the Taiwanese armed forces as training rifles.

  7. Buys a very specific Taiwanese service rifle that has a number of unique details that sets it apart from generic BBwarz M4s.

Wants to convert it into a generic BBwarz M4-ish thing by removing some of the key components that make it unique.

    Got it.....*sigh*

To answer your question - the gun appears to have standard threads for the barrel nut from looking at G&G's parts diagram. Who knows if the receiver rail will line up with whatever hand guard you want to fit. There will likely be some gaps at the front of the upper receiver because of the alignment notches for the standard hand guard attachment. All in all - it will probably look gash and ruin the gun's appearance, but hey ho, you'll be able to use it in CQB. It'll likely also be over-volumised because of the stock cylinder porting and shorter inner barrel.

But honestly - if you exclusively play CQB - you should have bought a more appropriate gun, price be damned. In an era where Double Eagle 904's can be had for £104 (current Patrolbase sale), buying a gun at a 'great price' and trying to convert it into something it wasn't intended for is a false economy. You will need to buy a new Inner barrel, Outer barrel and hand guard. Then hope it all fits.

    Best of luck.

That's awesome. reminds me of something I'm messing around with currently

Gotta love a G11 - and all the other '90/'00 'space guns' for the ACR/OICW programs.

I'm starting to gather reference pictures for a Steyr ACR - mainly to test my surface modelling skills with more complex shapes. Gonna be a pig to model with my limited 'skillz'.

I'm also taking a crack at the original HK XM8 concept art (by an Audi designer!)  when they figured that the G36 wasn't sexy enough for the yanks. It's batshit bonkers - but I like it.

Regarding battery it's great when you suddenly find that your battery lasts twice as long as it did on a full charge. Also, as the torque is so incredible, you then start to think about lower gear ratios and just using 7.4v!

Yes - I think 7.4v with a change of gear ratios is probably a good way to go.

Alright - let's see what all the fuss is about...

Ok - I get it now.

Slapped into one of my guns (ICS M4, Stock 18:1 gears, Perun Hybrid with AB disabled). No modifications needed - straight drop-in.

    Impressive. Most Impressive.

Been spamming the trigger fairly hard on an 11.1v for giggles and the motor is cold, as is the wiring and the battery. Performance on 7.4 and 11.1 is fairly similar in Semi.

Can't comment on long term reliability (obvs), but as a drop-in upgrade for a bone stock gun, it certainly seems to give a trigger responsiveness and ROF performance that will keep 95% of players very happy.
