For the true british issue look
-
Other than boost your FPS ever so slightly, (maybe 5 to 10fps tops,) it will make zero difference to your accuracy. The most inaccurate part of a pistol is the user. If yours still think you need a new barrel it will take any standard aeg style barrel IIRC it's 95mm a lot of the Chinese shops have some. Try wgc. The bb rolling out is because the hop up isn't gripping it, make sure the adjustment arm little lever is in the right slot, not the tapered one, the other one.

They saw you coming!

As a general rule, yes that is certainly true, there are a LOT of very expensive gucci combat boots, not all of which are any better than some cheaper alternatives. The 'Muricans LOVE gucci kit and while deployed have a good chunk of spare cash to splash on gucci tac kit, as a result over the last decade almost every main brand shoe maker has dabbled into the tac boot market knowing that the grunts will snap them up like aunt mabel's hot pie. Converse is a great example, they make brilliant court shoes, but they don't know how to make a proper tac boot, they are nice and light and comfy, great for hanging around bastion, not so great for trekking through the mountains or on an extended patrol. A £30 pair of surplus issue boots that have already been worn in are certainly going to be good enough for the twice a month casual romp in the woods that is airsoft. But try to buy them in store instead of online, try them on and see what they are like and to get the right size.

You could try Rothenberger propane its a bit slimmer and taller, but easier to carry than the fat colemans propane. http://www.wickes.co.uk/Rothenberger-Propane-Gas-Cartridge/p/118728 of course there is always: http://samoon.com.tw/magazine/ghk-g5-mag/g5-mag-50off

Lubrication of airsoft internals question
Mr Monkey Nuts replied to SCAR_Jester's topic in General Help
I would consider opening a gearbox simply to lube it as a stupid thing to do. -
Does anyone else find revision locust to be a bit wide? As in excessively wide? Or do I just have too small a head?

I have been looking for the same things for a while now and i think we have missed the boat. The AI Gas Can is discontinued and the others are pretty poor. The problem is that a lot of countries its illegal and can be legitimately quite dangerous to transfer propane from one storage container to another, without the proper precautions and equipment. It comes down to finer details of physics such as temperature, pressure regulation, moisture control and management of the "flash" risks. Google "combined gas law" for the science bit. Its also almost impossible to domestically calculate and distribute an appropriate mass for the container and the free space required for gas expansion. Now in reality people transfer gasses all the time and don't blow everything up, but there are many instances of it happening and have been some catastrophic and fatal accident in large scale industry when it goes wrong. The volumes we are dealing with are so small its almost an insignificance, as the propane will burn off in a matter of seconds, However your DIY improperly filled tank is in the boot of your car in an enclosed warm environment. The heat makes the gas expand, expanding gas increases pressure. it is contained in a fixed volume container without the correct expansion room, so the pressure can not escape, it will take the path of least resistance from high pressure to low pressure (Ficks law) most commercial propane bottles have a blow off valve. If your container doesn't it will take the main valve or fracture the bottle, now you have a rapidly expanding (escaping) volatile gas that only needs the slightest of sparks to ignite. say from a car boot lamp? Remember that propane expands up to approximately 250% its original volume in atmospheric air and remains flammable. Your 400g tank contains 1400g of vaporized propane. A little demo of how dangerous propane can be. And here is the expansion of a propane tank As I say, the volumes we are dealing with are much smaller, but the physics still stand, Upscaled to industrial applications it becomes a lot more dramatic and is legislated against for very good reasons. Hence why nobody is making them anymore, which is a shame.

Considering you haven't listened to a thing anyone has said in the thred so far I don't think people are willing to engage you anymore. So in summary: Option 1) get a tm and leave it stock, run it on GG, it may or may not break, who knows? I have yet to see anything other than conjecture on the issue, the fact that the internets is not flooded with pictures of cracked slides speaks volumes in my book. Option 2) buy a tm, mod all the things and forever have a temperamental gun that may or may not still break. Airsoft alloys are far from invincible. Option 3) buy a WE glock and be done, the biggest difference between a we and a tm is your tallent. Option 4) try golf?

No, unfortunately it's not. http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/endo-m4-stock-adaptor-for-glock-gbb.html#.VTAciYm9LCQ

£200 for a WE glock? You having a laugh? £100 gun £25 mag £15 magpul stock £10 Buffer tube £15 G stock All new Where do people come up with these prices?

What parts would I need to increase range?
Mr Monkey Nuts replied to iBrowniee x's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
Move closer? In all seriousness it sounds like it's working pretty well as it is, myself and many others on here have had the genius idea of tinkering with one little aspect to give that slight improvement and ended up screwing the gun up completely. It can be done, but is it really worth it? Just Push up and play! -
I don't understand the issue? A pistol is still a two handed gun when shooting, it makes no difference which dominant hand pulls the trigger, its not like a real gun where recoil control is affected. Can't you just transition to the right when reloading, considering the left (non dominant for normal people) does all the important fine manipulation and racking anyway?

what is the best method to paint an airsoft gun?
Mr Monkey Nuts replied to toneill562's topic in General Discussion
Whichever paint you use remember to degrease and clean first, wipe it over with some alcohol wipes or IPA. Also before you paint I always found dunking the tin in a measuring jug of warm water for a few min warms up the paint evenly and quickly giving a smoother lumpy less finish. And be paitent, painting isn't a quick 5min job, it takes time to do a good job. Days possibly weeks for paint to fully cure. -
Does your home insurance cover items in your van? Many don't but it may be worth checking the small print.

The 'What have you just bought' Thread
Mr Monkey Nuts replied to Cameron364's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
I would recomended 2.6mm elastic and not shoelace. Much neater and less hillbilly. I used this: http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=171090043679 -
considering Alpha-tec can't even pull together a website, i wouldn't expect them to be capable of mass producing a functioning grenade this side of forever.
-
TRMR for inside, no pins, simple to reload, bangs every time and individually numbered so they can be identified. You can even get a 3 shot version now. Fits into a 40mm grenade pouch. Mk5s for outside, no worries about losing them and you can have the realistic feeling of actually throwing it at the enemy.

I would just like to throw a bit of praise out for these guys, I have used their ebay site many times and always had great service and very quick delivery. Recently I asked about the Airsoft Innovations propane oil pump and if it required the AI adapter to work. Within a short space of time James had replied pointing me towards a combined package of the updated "unbreakable" adapter and pump for only £3 more than the stand alone pump I was looking at. Its only a small gesture, but its really nice and reassuring to see a dealer who is genuinely interested in getting a good deal for their customers, when he could have sold me them separately for nearly double the price. So Thank you armysurplusandtoys: Anyone can put items in the post, but good old fashioned customer service is what truly matters.

Wow the price of those have shot up! Were they not sub £90 before Christmas or am I getting my models crossed?

Both are from an Ebay seller Business319 I have used them a few times, they always deliver by courier and product quality is above average for cheap chinese produce. I have had one of their gun bags that has held up quite well for over a year now. The scope is here, just a cheap chinese variable scope 3-9x40 with illuminated reticle. It's decent for £18, its not what i could call a "good" quality scope but is certainly up to the job of airsoft and is on par with other budget branded air rifle scopes. The lense is a little cloudy ( it may just need a clean), but still entirely usable, and its roughly finished internally, but it zeros well, holds its zero and it variable zoom is quite good. I have seen reputable airsoft shops selling significantly inferior "airsoft" scopes for 4 times the price. Its certainly worth a punt. The bipod is here Again its chinese but it does seem to be built a lot better than any airsoft branded bipods I have seen. I do have a habit of stripping any acm parts down and threadlocking and retightening all the screws, and i would certainly recommend threadlocking the main attachment screw if its going to be affixed permanently. It seems to be built fairly well with half decent alloys. The weaver mount came with a bolt and threaded, they were stripped out of the box. I just drilled out the threading and put a new bolt with a nut and washers on before painting and it works pretty well. OK it needed a little fettle but for £17 you won't get a great OTB bipod.

Remember when buying from abroad to account for the potential undeclared fees. You may get hit with having to pay an additional 20% as VAT, between 2-5 % import fees on high value orders, and up to £13 postage theft from parcelfarce. I believe the import tax is only applied on orders that will cost into their hundreds, And vat is only demanded If the value of the duty is more than £9 iirc, ( I'm sure someone will correct those if they are wrong.) Often it's still cheaper than buying from the UK, but it can still make it less of a tempting offer.

Finally got most of the pieces together for my Mk12 style impression, painted and worn down. Still waiting on a few finishing ancillary parts but its mostly there and working, Just need to get out and skirmish it properly. I took it down to Trojan CQB a few weeks back and it worked pretty well all things considered. Still debating angled iron sights or a DR red dot,
