What pistol do you have? A hard moulded holster would be best but they are not available for every gun, and replicas like WEs are usually off compared to the real dimensions. Also, you are supposed to have magazines on your left (as a right handed shooter) rather than reaching across to reload. I personally don't see why you'd want magazines where your holster is.

Hey, I'm looking to switch my guns to Deans and -in short- was wondering which are actually the best to buy? Good question, I can't say what the difference in terms of most of the internal parts and their durability - but I would expect similar performance from the HC to the rest of modern TM guns, as they will use the same hop unit / bucking.

I'd start with cleaning the barrel, I think you should probably polish it too. Silicone is commonly used but I've heard rubbing alcohol is preferable, except I don't know how to go about cleaning a barrel with the latter. Similarly you could also clean the existing hop bucking / rubber, with warm and soapy water (no silicone oil!) I also know snipers wash their BBs the same way, I guess you could do the same for a DM and again, that should help a bit towards accuracy. You could upgrade the barrel (prioritise quality over length & diameter) although buying a replacement hop unit and/or hop bucking will probably improve performance the most and may be cheaper than a new barrel as well. Look for quality manufacturers like Prometheus, G&G (Specifically the Green) and Tokyo Marui for the bucking. In terms of the former, ProWin CNC hop-ups are great.

Wouldn't recommend buying from any 'bb gun' retailers. Besides, 'Mystery Boxes' over here aren't worth it, the US retailers seem to do good ones whereas the few companies offering them in the UK had more expensive packages / lower value of contents / lower chance of getting a better prize if I remember correctly.

Hmm I'd want to see this plate carrier deal, cos you can get a Warrior Assault Systems DCS in genuine Multicam for £110 - and £160 with 5 mag pouches and two general purpose / utility pouches. 350 fps is the velocity limit for guns at most places in the UK (unless bolt action or semi automatic only) It is definitely not weak at all but I'm gonna assume you want to use this for shooting stuff in the garden ('plinking') and not a skirmish? Airsoft guns cannot shoot paintball ammo, they are completely different calibres. Electric...uses battery obviously, powers motor which spins gears, spring pushes piston and air into cylinder to propel BB Gas...green gas / propane is put into magazine, hammer / striker is pressed, releases gas to fire BB basically Gas is not recommended for beginners as they generally need more maintenance They are also more expensive to run and extra magazines are £35+ each Plus the performance is affected a lot more by the temperature Hope this helps

I don't like the foregrip / flashlight combos personally, would recommend something like an Element Surefire replica / Nextorch flashlight. Also if you don't know already Tactical Gear Trade is NOT a UK retailer, in fact based in HK. I would guess you can probably find one a bit cheaper on Ali Express but I don't know.

At least we've got it easy compared to some countries, it's not even hard to get yourself registered and get a defence. we can say the VCR Act is stupid / doesn't work etc but doubt the gov would amend it anyway

UK Tactical should still sell Propper BDUs in A-TACS FG (The genuine pattern not MFH copy?) And they do ACU cut as well Also Military 1st and Flecktarn.co.uk and The Grange might do it too, shouldn't be that hard to find

Can you be any more specific? There are so many it would be good to narrow it down. Stock, Tokyo Marui will probably be the most accurate. G&G are good and their Combat Machine range of M4s can be bought for ~ £110+ Or you could buy something like a CYMA AK -with UKARA, get one off TaiwanGun- and possibly upgrade the hop unit / bucking & barrel (also general cleaning and maintenance does a lot for improving performance and consistency) In terms of power most guns should fire around 350 FPS, if you want something really powerful it could be too hot to meet the requirement for most sites. If a gun is under or over the velocity limit you could simply change the spring through which is pretty simple and can be done for next to nowt if you do it yourself.

Heywood was good, first place I played but closed down years ago. Haven't been to it yet, but Alpha One is supposed to be a great site.

I don't think any of the CYMA sniper rifles are very popular, so you probably won't find many people with em. I heard conflicting things; that they are off-spec and will not accept Tokyo Marui style parts (as a lot of sniper rifles are basically based off the original gun which was first made by TM) and on the other hand they do more closely resemble the TM (same dimensions etc) so you can upgrade em. Speaking of which the thing is you need to be prepared to spend like £200 AT LEAST solely on upgrades to make sniper rifles be truly worth using over an AEG - otherwise you are completely disadvantaged. Performance with stock rifles is generally the same except lower ROF / mag capacity etc Also with buying these guns in the UK you're looking at them being a lot more expensive than European retailers like TaiwanGun. In fact speaking of which, Patrol Base seem to have 50%+ of their stock from TaiwanGun now...a lot of 8FIELDS products with Polish labels on em. Finally magazines could be potentially problematic as I don't know the availability of spares is. Again if it's a direct TM replica of a VSR for example then you can use other manufacturers magazines (JG/TM etc) but otherwise they may not sell extra mags at all. This appears to be the case with my A&K M24.

Where'd you get the BOS patch, Haze? Not really a fan of them tbh but was wondering where I might find other fallout themed ones

The IMAX B6 is supposed to be a very good charger, make sure you buy a genuine one though! The batteries you get with guns are never that good so you might want to replace it or buy spares later on anyway. For mags I'd stick with CYMA or buy some MAG ones, but I think most brands are okay. I've been looking at them on eHobby Asia but you can also buy them from places like Airsoft Supply Drop if you want to buy them from within the UK and don't want to wait a month. There's tons of choice for slings as well, how much are you looking to spend?

A lot of rail systems are designed to be lightweight, for example ones by Noveske, Troy, Daniel Defense (specifically the MFR) and PWS. All of said manufacturers have some of their designs replicated by Madbull. They're high quality and licenced appropriately if you like trademarks, but expensive as a result. Next there's the length, you may be limited to specific models. For example, most are available in 7", 9" and 12" lengths; carbine, mid-length, rifle. But there are certain designs which are available in / only made in 15" or 4" etc. Admittedly that probably isn't much of a problem but it can be one thing to consider dependent on what your gun is like and narrows down the options. Relatively new on the market although seemingly really popular (as more companies, real-steel and replica makers, are producing them) are Keymod systems. Again these are designed to save weight however most of the companies will sell the rail panels extra and these can be very expensive. It can increase your choices of attachments as there are parts specifically for attaching to Keymod rails (mainly lights & light mounts, foregrips, QD sling points) I'd say it's really just preference. Main brands you'll come across, as far as I know, is either Madbull or ACM (Chinese clones) With the former you don't have to worry about quality, it will be good. With the latter it depends but generally quality will probably be alright and paying £30 might be worth it more than £100+

Replacing the hop unit / hop rubber should be more effective at improving range and accuracy than upgrading the barrel. Or general maintenance (cleaning the stock barrel) usually does a lot more for performance than people think.

With Helmet World prices it's probably about the same price as genuine Ops-Core
