  1. What Spoon and Estorick said. Heroshark makes the best quality mesh stuff and to fit to your face as well. He used to have a website but I think it's just through FB now. As far as I know he's still doin it. I've had problems with lower face mesh masks though, not being able to use them properly with ballistic goggles or glasses. Did see Heroshark make some minimalist lower face pro which looks like you could use more easily with em. I have surplus ESS glasses and tried a shemagh to protect my teeth but firstly it liked to fall off (as in slip down) my face and also steam the glasses up like fuck. Could try a scrim net scarf instead.
  2. I've heard a surplus UBACS is the best combat shirt for airsoft purposes. At least that's CKinnerley's opinion and he's had Crye, Massif etc. Only had a Helikon one myself.
  3. So you only want Ops Core FAST Helmet replicas? I've had no experience with them but I would imagine WE and Viper are re-OEM'd in China by the same company, probably similar to Emerson quality? Please correct me if I'm wrong though. All the NUPROL gear products have been re-brands of existing stuff so far. Never heard of NHelmet or RedStar. There are a lot of FMA vs Emerson comparisons on YouTube. I've found that on US forums etc they seemed to favour Emerson but most opinions I hear are in favour of FMA. I'm getting a ballistic cut FAST by FMA for £45 whereas the cheaper version Emerson can be bought for around £18-£25 from China dependent on camo pattern and if it's the version with a visor thing (specifically Ali Express) Best UK stockist for them in terms of price is probably Patrol Base, I got a cheap version FAST for £25 (because they've bought a load of products from Polish retailer TaiwanGun) whereas I think most other places are ~ £35 or more.
  4. Welcome to the forum mate. Only necessity for airsoft is good footwear and eye pro but usually if you wanna hire a gun it's a full package including a face mask for the day and coverall things. If you get into it there are lots of recommendations we have for starter guns dependant on budget but that can be saved for another thread - just as Duck said don't buy shit from JBBG. Look in the right places and you'll get much better service and far higher quality stuff for the same price or a bit more. Similarly for kit there are tons of brands dependent on your budget what might be best. In terms of clothing you could just get MTP like loads of guys or if you wanna be different US M81 both are cheap the latter ain't so easily available. Will be cheaper for skirmishes once you get your own stuff together but would always recommend hiring for three games as you're seeing if you like it, you know more about t and then you can get your UKARA defence as well.
  5. Seen the optic shield BB protector things for £7 shipped on Ali Express. Expect it to take like three weeks but might come before next skirmish. Actually try Ant Supplies too cos I think they're only about a tenner there.
  6. The one rule of airsoft is don't cheap out on eye pro it ain't worth it
  7. Have a look at Nikko Stirling ones and say save £10-£15 for Picatinny mounts.
  8. Found out of the shirt is a Chinese copy of Jordanian PSD / CPT Digital Urban

  9. You could search 'airsoft skipton' and summut should come up mate. Cerberus Airsoft and First & Only should have some near you. Sorry I can't change colour im on el fone
  10. So av been interested in sum urban digital and see Jordanian CPT using it then today find a BDU shirt in urban digital with Jordanian flag patch on it at work. Weird. Don't think it's genuine tho, label in English made by 'Petra' M/R so big for me too but it's £2 so wth

Pattern on the pics I saw more dpm / natural style this pattern is more hyper stealth / UCP anyone got some light to shed on this?

  11. If we were talking brands I could tell you PDI, Laylax and Prometheus probably make the best quality barrels and so on In terms of just what upgrades there isn't anything specific. Buying anything good, it should already have decent performance you don't need to do anything with it apart from cleaning. If it had bad rate of fire out of the box you would do relevant ROF upgrades (e.g. New gears, hi-torque motor, re-shim, AOE correction, re-wiring to Deans connectors, MOSFET, using a 7.4 / 11.1V LiPo) If if had poor range 1) find optimal BB weight / adjust hop / clean barrel 2) if that doesn't work consider new hop unit and / or bucking or new barrel, remember quality being more important than length
  12. Buy from anywhere but BB4L / JBBG etc! well that and Special Airsoft Supplies Some good shops are Zero One, Airsoft World, Land Warrior Airsoft, Airsoft Zone and Fire Support Pro Airsoft Supplies and Wolf Armouries which are in London I have seen that gun at TaiwanGun, which is a Polish retailer, so they don't do two-tone. Pretty sure I saw the MB4411 at Patrol Base the last time I went but it isn't actually listed on their website. If you can find it most places will do a two tone painting service for £10+ or some like Zero One will do it for free. I wouldn't recommend a sniper rifle as a first gun though. Sniping in airsoft is not as fun as it might look because you will realistically only get a few kills. Not only this but building a ghillie suit is basically a must if you want to stay hidden which is gonna take a lot of time and work. Also the most important thing is sniper rifles take A LOT of upgrading to be any good and it costs a lot. When you buy one stock the range and accuracy won't be great so you might as well just have an AEG. If you did buy a sniper rifle I would say buy a Tokyo Marui but they are gonna be around £200. Welcome to the forum by the way
  13. Is Rustoleum Nutmeg and Satin Nutmeg the same thing, or close enough..? Since the latter isn't sold in the UK AFAIK.

I'll buy some anyway and see how it compares with Krylon Khaki but did want some satin nutmeg for a couple camo experiments

    4. Colonel Kurtz

      Colonel Kurtz

Looking at them side by side there's not much difference, one looks a little more rouge perhaps

  14. PIG FDT Gloves yeah are gonna be the best for dexterity, but they state themselves not built to survive everything so you do sacrifice toughness At the other end I'm looking at getting some Warrior Enforcers but dunno what they're actually like
  15. Anything TM. There's also the JG BAR-10 -a VSR-10- clone, 100 from TaiwanGun (Polish retailer, ordered from em twice) The Well (Warrior) L96 / MB-01, from what I've heard, should be good in that it also doesn't need a lot of upgrades to be decent, still if you want really good sniper rifle performance you do have to spend a lot on upgrades though. Otherwise you might as well just buy an ordinary AEG. I have an A&K M24, which, supposedly has a lot of good parts already OOTB. Not sure what they are exactly...but I think I have some info from TacMaster saved (that's a guy on here btw) Can't say how good it is in comparison to any other bolt action rifles. Haven't actually done any sniping either as of yet I'm still waiting for a cheap scope to arrive from China. Not sure if I'll really get into it though... Probably just going to replace the piston sear (stock trigger sear is steel) and get a PDI barrel off X-Fire. Says it's £22 but idk what shipping will be like. Anyway that's off-topic. You can get the M24 and L96 off TG as well. If they're not in stock, try Gunfire.pl Last places I saw with Tokyo Marui VSRs were Fire Support and Patrol Base. Try the former for the TM L96. Hope this helped mate.
  16. TM Recoils are some of the best out there, definitely worth paying £180, just depends like Estorick said if owt has been changed etc
  17. You've confirmed what I thought, but that's a bummer about the Tippmann. I was planning to suppress mine when I get one Not sure now if I'll get that, an ERG or GBBR Masada though...anyway different story
  18. Looks like MOE handguard rails will fit it. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/20mm-RIS-Polymer-Rail-Section-Set-for-Magpul-MOE-PTS-Handguard-4-Pcs-Black-Rails-/191543909582?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item2c98e81cce
  19. There are a lot of differences between the US and UK Minimis. There was a thread on a conversion somewhere...
  20. Tbh Monty I think you're wrong there. Noise from a GBBR isn't going to be reduced much either from what I've heard. They're only good at effectively suppressing noise on HPA guns.
  21. So are you looking for internal upgrades, or just external parts like the rail system, since you mentioned AirsoftEd's gun? As Duck said I think I'd just leave it because performance should be good already, if not fix whatever is wrong then when it happens. Never do any internal work before myself, even though I wouldn't really consider myself a noob I have been really bad at looking after mine - reluctant to do it thinking I would break them. If you really wanted to improve it, would send it to local tech / retailer to do the work. Would say get a TBB, new hop up and bucking. Madbull 6.03 TBB 509mm could be bought for around £33, hop up for example a ProWin but I'm not sure which type the L85 takes...make £20 depending on if you want it from a UK or Asia store. There are loads of brands of hop up buckings but Tokyo Marui, G&G, Lonex or a 'Prommy Purple' (http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/prometheus-air-seal-chamber-hop-up-packing-soft-type.html#.VWsC6M9VhBd) are all good. External upgrades for an Afghan-spec A2 would be the Daniel Defense RIS ~ £100 for a Madbull version or can probably even get a real steel one for that, seen em go for less in fact. A Grip-Pod, airsoft clones are about £10. Magpul style rail ladder covers, again about £10. 4x32 Trijicon ACOG (not sure of the exact model) anywhere from £40, and a Docter RDS / Elcan Specter DR. You also need a specific riser for the former, but I don't know the name of it. LLM-01 Replica 'Vortex' Flash Hider? E-MAGs I think G&G and ICS both sell Picatinny rails for the L85A2 as well to replace the standard Dovetail one.
  22. Firstly it's not a licence, but a defence. It's common misinformation, seems to have been passed around by the bad retailers (i.e. 'BB guns for 'x' or 'x' BB guns etc) But yeah you need to do three games within a year and not in under 2 months. Easiest to do all three at the same site then they know you and you can fill in the form to get it at the third one. 1) As many as you want I guess, never seen rules against it. But every gun you are going to use must be chrono'd at start of the day, so that they are known to be shooting within appropriate velocity limits. So if you turned up with like 10 then I imagine they would say no to doing them all but I can't imagine anyone brings over 4 each. 2) Depends on the game type, usually 'medic then dead' So if you are hit somebody may be able to run over, 'medic' you (hand on you for 10 seconds usually) and then you are back in, unless either of you were hit again during that time. Then second time you are hit it is a walk back to the nearest 'base' which is some point(s) the marshalls have designated Some scenarios you will only have one life per round so then you go to the safe zone 3) Yeah most people will have bought military clothing but a lot of people who are new will turn up in normal clothes. At an outdoor site you should get overalls to wear for the day included in the hire package. Would be a good idea to buy some military gear if you get into airsoft, most people just go for UK surplus stuff (MTP or DPM) or US M81 because it is cheap and easily available. There are brands like Helikon / Teesar / Mil-Tec / Bulle / Emerson to name just a few who also make good quality and affordable clothing. 3 / 4 ) Good footwear and eye protection is a must (if you are hiring then you will get a face mask included though)
  23. Looking to sell this sometime soon as I'll be buying a JG AUG. I understand isn't worth much -for reasons below- but cost me ~ £150 new so would like to try and get something back. Wondering how much you guys think I can get for it. Internally it's all stock, will need a good clean which I may do before selling as admittedly hasn't been maintained very well. Performance seems good and about on par with most other guns. As I said though needs to be cleaned and then will probably be a lot better. Fully polymer receiver (upper & lower) Does not have a threaded outer barrel and has an old TM style delta ring / barrel nut so that normal aftermarket parts won't fit (for example the MOE handguard I'm including - will stay on but lower section does not fully lock into place and so sticks out, will show in pics I upload later) Stock has scratched paint but I think it looks better worn. On the other side a not very noticeable attempt at Kryptek style pattern but is brown / green and hard to see. Don't want to sell it with the case or sling, however I will include: the red dot sight couple King Arms (VN Style 20 Round) magazines two metal CYMA hi-caps original nunchuck crane stock battery + charger The metal RIS with clone AFG and TDI style rail panels Steel sling plate (attached) PTS Magpul MOE Grip Not pictured: genuine PTS Magpul carbine length MOE handguard May include: 2x genuine PTS Magpul PMAGs (FDE) genuine PTS Magpul ACS Stock (BLK) G&P 'Battery Store' Foregrip (OD) Sell for ~ $20 + / seen them for £25 in the UK Understandably kind of want to keep these ^ but won't be buying another AR anyway for a while until I get a Tippmann M4 or RM4 ERG Thanks in advance
