    I think FMA's are regarded the highest quality. But aren't there only a few different brands making them really - namely FMA / Emerson and one other - Red Dragon or something? NUPROL and Viper, I'm pretty sure are just re-branded Emerson or FMA, I have an FMA one which is much better quality than the Emerson one I had before, but that was the 'economy' cheap version though.

    That's the stupid thing, the law dictates you don't need a licence or anything (basically you only need to be 18+) for an air rifle, although you do need a valid defence to purchase an airsoft gun.

    I think the max advisable C rating would be about 35...I don't know much about electrics / batteries in general but I think anything mad like 50-70 would be too much for an airsoft gun? Optimum 'C' rating from what I've heard is 25.

    How are you guys attaching Contours to your helmets? Seen people seem to just stick it straight onto the velcro but wanna know exactly how people on here do it, I'm sure there are guys on here running them.

      There's a mount by Ops-Core specifically designed for the FAST helmet, yeah, but I'm looking for an alternative because it seems you can only get the mount in the US and it's £15+ excluding shipping and everything

      I've put velcro where I need to mount the camera rlly, I've seen people put the camera onto the velcro but might just take it off and put it on with the sticker mount as you said

    can't decide if I want a Tippmann or not because there's a tank & line to buy as well and how easy will it to be to get it filled? Or get a TM MWS or something. Want a gun that doesn't rely on battery but don't suppose you can get any HPA or gas gun cheap

      You can run the Tippmann with 12g CO2 cartridges. They fit in the Tippmann mags. I have been considering getting one but didn't fancy the HPA tank.

    This is very relatable :| I'm wanting to start a Tippmann build because I don't like AEGs, but already have enough guns when I hardly play enough airsoft anyway. Also a PenCott GreenZone loadout.

    think I've asked this before but what are people using to clean their inner barrels? because I have never known for sure and am intending to get around to doing proper clean of my guns this week. I know should be some kind of lint free cloth but is there anything specific or anything else I should know...to me using cig filters seems like a better method

    I'm looking at one from Shooter CB Gear, again, doubt you'll be charged for import duty / tax. They'll probably declare it's worth a lot less than you pay, and I've heard before that you aren't usually charged anything extra unless an order is valued at being worth £50 or more - then again I've heard elsewhere you are supposed to be charged on imports so idk it's a bit of a grey area I suppose.

    Reducing velocity on AEGs is just a simple spring change, when you buy one they're numbered as M90 / M100 / M110 etc which refers to the velocity in metres per second and then you can pick which one corresponds to the desired FPS. It will vary anyway dependant on other factors such as your air seal in the gun but should be about the same, if not you can also cut an existing spring to reduce power. With regards to using heavier BBs, this doesn't really work because you have to chrono all guns with 0.20s - as has been mentioned the power behind the BB still remains the same from my understanding. Finally I can't help with maintenance cos I'm crap at it and don't maintain my guns enough tbch, does not help that I think there are a lot of different videos and people have their own conflicting techniques and ideas of how to do it. For example silicone oil is commonly used for barrel cleaning, but others say use rubbing alcohol (it's a cleaner, not a lubricant like silicone oil) There's confusion where to use silicone oil (DO NOT put it on hop bucking) and so on Most people will use blue towel stuff I think? (for cleaning barrel specifically, I'm still not sure if it is blue towel stuff that is used) whereas the Patrol Base blog suggests using cigarette filters which is pretty unique

    If you're under 18 and don't have a 'licence' you can't get one! End of! Unless you have a parent who will 'gift' you it...I was in same position so it's worth mentioning that or you will get all the types of replies. And why tf do you have a grand to spend. Just remember an airsoft sniper rifle is not going to do any better than an AEG (i.e. range & accuracy Performance is near enough the same but you have a much lower ammo capacity in each magazine, fire rate is very bad etc. It costs a lot to upgrade too (but doesn't sound like that's a problem!) still you need to have a lot of patience and be persistent to upgrade the gun and to do the sniper role in general. A lot of people say they want to be a sniper but then find it is not as they thought it would be (Not like how you might expect a sniper rifle to function, characteristics of the real gun does not mean the same for airsoft, not like in a video game either)

      Any fool can get cold & wet, I just prefer nice fair weather days Randy. Those wolf grey jackets are so tacti-cool. Grey is a great urban colour and down in The Bunker it does get cold. Now they are back in stock but no discount offer so reluctant to pay full price.

    IK everyone always ask this but searched n can't find threads easily...wat are good boots for aboot £50, would get UA / 5.11 etc but don't want to spend £100+ not sure on reliability of surplus ones either heard bad things about some

      German Para boots work well for me and seen reviews of people saying they replaced after 10+ years. Main factor is the shape of your feet as to what is comfortable.

      I bought a £25 pair of boots off Amazon a couple months back. Made of Leather and Cordura reinforced with steel shank. Tough, flexible and comfortable. May not last as long as surplus boots but for £25 they have been unbelievably comfortable and i've not had a single issue even the first day wearing them in on the field.
