All G&G guns are very good. The intermediate and advanced ones should be metal (if the real one is) Personally I would recommend the Combat Machine that has a transparent receiver from Pro Airsoft Supplies. It's only £100 + £40 or so for batteries and a charger. It isn't metal but it's cheaper and lightweight. Face mask should be good, they have thermal lenses which should help reduce fogging.

Yeah I want to get a Condor or Warrior belt soon to replace it.

I can't remember if I saw it on here (could have been reddit or something) but a BB did go through the gap between a guy's glasses and his half face mask. Hit him underneath the eye (well, still on his really) He lost his eyesight temporarily and blacked out because he was in shock. Fortunately, he recovered but no doubt was not a nice experience and he has worn full seal ever since. It is very rare but it can still happen if you're unlucky enough. I have ESS Ice glasses but I will use these only for sniping. I have ASG Strike Systems goggles which I would use if I am going rifleman and I'm likely to be getting shot at much more and in close quarters.

I'm buying either an A&K M24 or JG BAR-10 tonight. As for gear I have a Viper belt platform with WAS double pistol mag pouch and a Blackhawk frag grenade pouch. I'll probably buy a WAS .338 pouch and Helikon utility pouch as well. I bought Mil-Tec vegetato BDUs but the shirt's massive on me unfortunately so I just run a WAS t-shirt instead. Really would like some new gear. (WAS = Warrior Assault Systems, btw)

I never realised it was actually illegal to import, and that your defence literally is a defence against prosecution. In fact I am ordering a gun today from a Polish company. Advice I have heard is out your UKARA number in the business line of the address so it shows up, and also you can write a message in an order commentary (ask them to write it on the box too) So as I see it, just make sure UKARA # is clearly displayed (preferably more than one place maybe) and you should be fine. I know plenty of others have ordered from HK and Europe and one or two members here have bought from the USA, no problems at all.

I watched Iain's unboxing / review / first impressions of the Firehawk but I can't remember where the battery goes. If it's in the buffer tube that battery most likely won't fit. Charger however is brilliant. Try Component Shop for batteries or Land Warrior Airsoft sell WE batteries including PEQ box and buffer tube ones.

Probably a good CPU if it's an i7. RAM is fine and that's more than enough storage. I have 8GB DDR3 RAM and a 1 TB HDD myself in my desktop. Not sure about how good the graphics are, but seems like a very nice gaming laptop.

Cheap guns don't have extra magazine or spare parts. A lot of them aren't cross compatible and the target market is small, so there aren't any third party manufacturers making things for them. I had a TRF patch on my DPM BDU shirt and a couple guys told me to take it off. I don't see much of a problem with them, unless the person is actually making out they are in the military when they're not. If you went to the trouble of accurately replicating a specific loadout of one guy or something then yeah I could see what is wrong with that but one or two regimental things is not a big deal IMO.

Welcome to the forums mate! The Sandpit is an awesome site. I'm not lucky enough to have played there but I've heard how good it is. What make is your MP5? I really want a G&G MP5 because I'm disappointed in my first two guns I bought when I was a noob.

M90 means 90 M/S, so ~ 295 FPS. An M100 = ~328 FPS. As Lozart said though there can a big difference in actual velocity. You could alternatively cut down your existing spring to reduce power.

Not sure what to suggest for an optic, but it comes down to personal preference really. Always best to try one out if possible. Magnified scopes aren't much use in airsoft unless you're a marksman / sniper, so a good sight would be a Reflex red dot sort of thing or Aimpoint replica. You can Chinese ones on Ali Express for only £14-£22. I don't know how long they last but I'd imagine they're good enough. After all, I've heard the UK retailers buy from Ali Express themselves and so they sell the same thing for £30-£40. Shotgun Only shotgun worth getting in my opinion is a DE tri shot. Glock GBB I'd recommend any WE Gen 4 Glock. Their dimensions are a little off the real steel pistol so for example the Glock 17 actually has a wider frame like a .45 Glock and not one chambered for 9mm. If you have a bit more to spend, go for a Tokyo Marui instead. You can't beat them.

Thanks very much for the replies guys!! The guide says I need to start in safe mode, how important do you think it is that I do that? As aforementioned it was really difficult and time consuming to do it, and then it wouldn't work IIRC. Going to try it soon and hopefully can finally sort this problem out.

Hard to suggest what you want to look for because of course it really depends on personal preference. Take a look on Google, search AR-15 and see which ones you like the look of. I would consider what is practical and rather than just what looks cool though so that the set up works well for you. Personally I really like the Noveske NSR keymod handguards. Will be buying one for my future RM4 or GBBR. Here's a few from my gun pr0n folder: Spike's Tactical AR w/ Magpul MOE stock and MOE-K grip. BCM flashhider. Looks like a Daniel Defense Omega X Rail 7" or 9" but there are longer versions available as well. Not sure about the parts on this, and the angle doesn't help. I know it's a Magpul CTR Stock and the it's hydro-dipped in Kryptek Typhon. Front end reminds me of both a Noveske Free FIoat rail and a keymod handguard. I think it looks very tacti-cool. BCM AR. Has an ACOG which you might get, and a crane stock you already have. I think that is a Stark vertical foregrip. There are Madbull and ACM clones of it. Some kind of keymod handguard but you could use the Madbull Noveske ones. The flashlight is a HSP Inforce WML and muzzle attachment is a Rainier Arms Mini XT Compensator. Last one. Troy TRX BattleRail (13" here by the looks of it) and a Troy BattleAx CQB Stock. Unfortunately, the Madbull airsoft versions are around £80+ and £100 respectively. Not sure what kind of budget you have.

Considering how many people swear by em if say they're definitely worth it. Performance is very good AFAIK because of TM's hop units (range and accuracy) Should be very reliable because it's TM. You don't need to upgrade a TM Recoil. I wouldn't tamper with it and I'd leave it alone.
