  1. Yep it's more about the quality and the diameter really. I'd recommend a 6.03 since a 6.01 requires more maintenance and AFAIK there isn't much difference in performance between the two diameters?
  2. I think in airsoft there are only STANAG PMAGs and EMAGs IIRC. There could also be G36 EMAGs but I'm not sure and these be clones and not genuine PTS. Bullpups under £150 new I think you're only going to find the ASG / JG Steyr AUGs. The ICS L85 (maybe G&G) and Magpul PTS PDR-C should take PMAGs. Not sure about any of the Tavors.
  3. You could buy a 20mm to 11m adaptor or some new scope rings
  4. There aren't any drum magazines for the UMP. I can't imagine you could easily convert an MP5 mag to fit given the calibre difference either. Cropzy posted a thread about UMP magazines you might want to take a look at if you can find it.
  5. Nice work! I am interested in having this done once I get money together for a pistol. Would you be able to quote me a benchmark figure for a Glock slide? (In Kryptek Mandrake)
  6. Is Cerberus' site The Works still open? I seem to remember seeing an urban site close to me but only to find out it closed shortly after or something. Just checking because it would be great if there is a good site so close.

I must be confused with another one because it says it's their newest one and coming soon and everything.

      It's still open

Awesome hope they do some skirmishes there soon

  7. Asked TaiwanGun if the JG BAR-10 includes the rail (for mounting an optic) or if you have to buy it separately. They just replied 'there is a rail for this gun' so I'm confused now. :/ they sell one separately which I would need but don't want to end up w/ 2

If it's a Gspec a rail comes mounted on,if it's the pro then the rail is purchased separately IIRC.

Cheers UTJ :) I looked at the set but I will save up for a Nikko Sterling scope instead and buy the rail separately. At first I'll just be using it really for plinking until it's upgraded.

  8. Sounds great! It's exactly what mates and I have been talking about doing. We haven't thought of where we'd like to go though. Of course fit in some shooting and maybe a stop at Airsoft GI if we go down to California. Enjoy!
  9. Yeah, agreed with Ed. Bolt actions are very satisfying but you won't be able to consistently get kills with a stock rifle. Don't let it put you off them, but I'd recommend an AEG to start off with and a sniper later as a project gun you can upgrade over time. I'm actually buying a JG BAR-10 in a couple days or so but I will be using it more for plinking at first before I upgrade it enough for a skirmish. There are a load of very useful guides on starting airsoft and beginner guns you may want to take a look at. CKinnerly has a video on why you shouldn't start off with a sniper for your first gun on his YouTube channel as well (REMF Tacticool) Welcome to the forums
  10. It's not just that they lie about a lot of their products, but they delete negative comments and reviews too. Just the whole operation, the way it's run is wrong and a business should have the responsibility to make sure they are providing correct information. Especially so when they know they are an airsoft retailer with a younger target audience they are misleading. I don't think they have any kind of safety guides or other advice on their website either I know these aren't exactly legal issues but these things are what we have been complaining about. Us lots on the forums are generally going to be more knowledgeable, because the community shares all this information and experience. Yet, there are kids and newbie airsofters who aren't on here are still going to JBBG.
  11. OS is Windows 7 Home Premium. Sorry what are the UAC settings?
  12. Don't think you'll be able to see that well enough but I'm working on making that image larger.
  13. Really need help fixing this problem on my computer. I appreciate this isn't a PC forum but I was hoping that some members on here may be able to help out. Thanks very much in advance for any advice. I've had it for ages now and it means that basically I can't log onto my main account. Luckily enough I had actually made a second account as a backup shortly before the error occured, which is why I can still use the computer. However, because I'm not the admin, it doesn't let me download anything etc. For example, right now I'm trying to play Insurgency but there's a problem and I need to run Steam in admin mode. Yet I can't log in due to the data error. I need help to complete the first method. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947215 Seemed simple enough, but you have to start your PC in safe mode before doing it. I remember trying this what must have been a few months ago. IIRC it took many many attempts and when I finally booted up in safe mode, I then couldn't do the process anyway!! As in, there wasn't even the shortcut there or the files in the start menu or on the desktop to go to the directory and fix the problem. Secondly, since I have two accounts, there are three of these files in the directory (I can view it when not in safe mode) however in the troubleshooting guide it only talks about two. I guess it's assuming you only have the one account or something. The names of the files look different so this is confusing and I'm not sure which ones exactly I need to change. Apologies for my bad description, but I have not tried to resolve this problem again recently as I was going to take it to the local computer shop but decided I should ask for help and see if I could potentially resolve this myself. Found the S-1-5 folders. So I need help establishing which of these folders I need to change. Hope I explained it well enough, but I can try to elaborate on anything if need be. Thanks again if anyone can help me with this!
  14. Well f*ck, I've borrowed a mouse but Insurgency won't load and I'll have to see if I can fix it.

Hmm looks like that didn't work either :|

Must get the user data profile error fixed!

  15. Haven't just bought it, but my Airsoft Peak order arrived. Got an Element KX3 for my Classic Army MP5, only to discover the barrel must be clockwise threaded, because it doesn't seem to want to go on. I also bought a retention lanyard in anticipation of buying a WE Glock, yet I have since changed my mind upon finding TaiwanGun are selling JG BAR-10s at a similar price. The other three items are from Airsoft Peak's mystery box / surprise package / lucky thing but unfortunately it was all sh*t as expected. They say they include top selling items but most of them aren't very good anyway. I'm a bit disappointed but not by much -since it was about $6 and worth a try to see if I got owt good- although that's £4-ish nonetheless and I'm not going to use any of it. I'll throw the dodgy rhino patch in for free with the next thing I sell on here if anybody wants it.
  16. Heard lots of good things about their BBs. Supposedly they're actually pretty good for their price, just a little worse than Swiss Arms / King Arms BBs. I'm ordering a JG BAR-10 from TaiwanGun soon and I'll also be adding in a couple bags of 0.30s for the rifle and 0.20s for my other guns.
  17. Yes they're a safe and trusted retailer. Very good as well I believe. They held the AIPSC championships last year.
  18. Back from holiday :( Bought Insurgency but it's got another 3 hours to go until download finishes

Mr Airsoft B, don't use mice that use batteries! They eat up batteries extremely quickly!

Mine doesn't :P I've only had to change batteries once since I got it in February

Replacing the battery has never been much of a problem before. It must be like four years old now. Gonna buy a better one soon but will have the sh*tty cheap one for the time being.

  19. Lexan polycarbonate should work well as visor material. Not sure about the best thickness. You can also buy the face protector thing (believe it's called a mandible) separately which attaches onto the helmet - as an alternative to the neoprene half face mask.
  20. That sounds awesome, I'd love to be lucky enough to have access to some land like that.
  21. LaRue SPR Mount. If it's RWA in HK you're going to have to pay shipping and tax and everything on top too. I'm going to buy the Visionking short dot as well in the future.
  22. Gonna have to pick it up myself and join you guys I think
  23. For the use you'll get out of them, I wouldn't recommend a pistol straight away. I'd say put the money you could spend on a pistol towards the gun or on gear / footwear / eye pro. After that, some extra magazines are a useful buy. G&G Combat Machines are great for beginners, as Monty said. Zero One or Pro Airsoft Supplies are the best place to get one. PAS actually sell a transparent version which is VCRA compliant so you don't need a UKARA defence to buy one. You said you have a good budget, in which case there isn't one go-to gun I can recommend straight away, since you have so much choice when you have more to spend. G&G / TM are good brands that you can't go wrong with though. Using a gas rifle as a beginner isn't recommended. They require a lot of maintenance and magazines are very expensive. Sure, gas is fun and realistic, but you have a limited magazine capacity, they're affected by the cold more, costs more to run etc . Pistols aren't going to have brilliant range or anything hence why it's wise to get a long gun first, but they might be more of a viable option to buy first if you're only playing CQC and really want one. I also agree with the pistols bit. I'm getting one myself (a WE Glock) WE's older guns weren't brilliant but the latest ones are good. Marui though are brilliant and widely considered the best you can get. Quality and performance is second to none.
