  1. Like these? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/281195671144?limghlpsr=true&hlpv=2&ops=true&viphx=1&hlpht=true&lpid=108&device=c&adtype=pla&crdt=0&ff3=1&ff11=ICEP3.0.0&ff12=67&ff13=80&ff14=108&ff19=0 Then I'm assuming you just wrap it around the cleaning rod? I'm thinking of using the idea of using cigarette filters and pushing them down the barrel with some white spirit or rubbing alcohol on. You can get the filters by the thousands really cheap if you want.
  2. I've been looking for some myself. I'm not entirely sure if it is the right thing, but it does say it's good for cleaning, so I don't think you could go wrong.
  3. Okay so basically someone in the family (such as your dad) could buy one and they 'gift' it to you. It's still theirs but you use it. I have the habit of saying 'my' guns which always has someone pick up on the fact I'm under 18, but yeah they are really not since I didn't actually buy them. Whoever gifts you one doesn't need a UKARA defence if it's VCRA-compliant (51% brightly coloured or transparent) but they will need it if the gun is a RIF (not brightly coloured or transparent) of course. If you're after a G36, SRC make some good ones. Their other guns aren't so great though. http://www.airsoftworld.net/two-tone-src-g36c-gen-iii-airsoft-rifle.html SCAR-L and SCAR-L CQB http://www.landwarriorairsoft.com/airsoft-weapons-c38/electric-rifles-c45/we-we-scar-l-dark-earth-p3348 http://www.landwarriorairsoft.com/airsoft-weapons-c38/electric-rifles-c45/we-scar-l-cqb-p3352 Shame to have to ruin such a beautiful gun I would recommend buying a G&G Combat Machine like this one as a beginner gun first: http://www.proairsoftsupplies.co.uk/cgi-bin/sh000001.pl?WD=transparent&PN=cm16_carbine_transparent%2ehtml#SID=239

Subbed as well. Really want a P* now!

  5. To be honest I'm not entirely sure. I've just heard that you could end up getting one that doesn't work very well that's a bit of a lemon. That said, if you did, you could just send it back and get a replacement I guess.
  6. I've heard they're pretty hit-and-miss and there's a 50% chance you'll get a bad one. On the other hand, I don't think you can really go wrong with a Marui. I'm guessing it's that price because it is a competitor with Systema. Systema PTWs are £800+ These guns have MOSFETs / ECUs, bolt-lock (stops firing) and other features that as far as I know, have only started to be introduced fairly recently by other manufacturers. I know Marui have had them with their Recoil series but aside from that they were the only ones I think (non-PTW) Also has a split gearbox for quick maintenace / cylinder change and more realistic takedown by the look of it. Not to mention the apparent build quality of PTWs. After all they are marketed at LE and military for force-on-force training. I guess this is why they are expensive.
  7. Ofc it's nothing like a real muzzle flash, then again I still thinks it's cool. Not worth £120 though!
  8. £50 is a pretty standard price for GBBR mags AFAIK. I've seen G&G M4 gas magazines are £35 but their gas rifles aren't very good so I don't know if the mags are any good.
  9. Very obscure and uncommon, I know. It's why I like them. Needless to say, I don't think any airsoft manufacturer would ever make them. I think they're really interesting though and it would be cool to see an airsoft replica. SAR Arms 109T (AOR1) Desert Tech MDR-C Crye Six 12 Shotgun I thought Crye just made camo! I like the modularity but...the cylinder / magazine looks very impractical and awkward for law enforcement or military use. Same reason the US never put the M26 in service? Also would be great if there were HERA Arms or Strike Industries dust cover replicas.
  10. I have a CYMA M4. Wouldn't recommend. I thought it looked good in the reviews as well, but in hindsight I really wish I'd got a Combat Machine instead.
  11. +1 to a TM Hi-Capa. They're great. On the other hand, 1911s are said to be WE's worst pistols. However their Gen 4 Glocks are supposed to be pretty good.
  12. I was going to say the same as Ed. Real ACOGs are at least £1,500-£2,000 each. Considering you have a Docter on there as well it's even better for the price. A lot of people say magnified optics aren't very useful (I suppose, unless you're a sniper) but if you have a Docter on there for CQC I would say it's a good choice.
  13. Preferably a Tokyo Marui but they are obviously expensive. £150-£200 TM VSR-10 Desert Version is £165 from Fire-Support. http://www.fire-support.co.uk/product/marui-vsr-10-pro-sniper-rifle-desert-tan The Marui rifles should have excellent accuracy and range due to their awesome (magic) hopups. There is also a clone of the VSR called the BAR-10 made by JG which is good, but both the VSR and BAR are hard to find in the UK and abroad now. Out of stock pretty much everywhere unfortunately. EDIT: Just as I write that I check on TaiwanGun and they're actually stocking BAR-10 rifles again! WANT! http://www.taiwangun.com/en/3-in-1-sniper-set-bar-10-jg?from=listing&campaign-id=19 Alternatively I would recommend the Well Warrior L96. Like every other sniper (maybe except a TM) it will need upgrading to be much good (otherwise you may as well be using an AEG) http://www.taiwangun.com/en/3-in-1-sniper-set-mb-01-olive-well?from=listing&campaign-id=19 http://gunfire.pl/product-eng-1152200729-Warrior-I-sniper-rifle-replica-olive.html These are Polish websites, so you do have to ask them to clearly display your UKARA on the box. You can also write your number in the business line when ordering so it should show up. It would be good to support UK retailers more but as aforementioned these can be hard to find in the UK AFAIK, and it could be a lot more expensive. For upgrades I'd recommend Airsoft Sniper Parts UK (ASPUK) http://www.airsoftsniperparts.com/
  14. Can't help with maintenance myself but Patrol Base's website has a good guide on it (for a WE Glock but I imagine the principle is the same) I have seen lots of guides with conflicting opinions and I'm never quite sure what the best ways are. I'd trust theirs though. One thing that's wrong: You should clean your barrel with rubbing alcohol IIRC and not silicone oil which is a lubricant as opposed to a cleaner. http://www.patrolbase.co.uk/blog/we-g34-maintenance-guide/
  15. I use two gun bags, a Swiss Arms and a Kombat UK. Currently I use a cheap Multicam style Chinese bag for carrying gear but it'll be replaced soon. I'm thinking of getting a Condor Deployment Bag for BBs / gas / tools / maintenance kit etc. Also going to buy a pistol bag or MFH case for my Glock.
  16. I wouldn't bother. Aren't you going to have to pay shipping, tax and import duty + courier / delivery company charge? The delivery company charge is at least £7-£14 itself. So you're probably going to have to pay over £100 which is how much a WE Glock costs over here anyway! http://www.landwarriorairsoft.com/airsoft-weapons-c38/pistols-c42/we-glock-g18c-gen-4-gas-blow-back-black-p2386 Buy it from here: http://www.taiwangun.com/en/g-17-gen-4-black-we?from=listing&campaign-id=19 http://www.taiwangun.com/en/g-18-c-gen-4-black-we?from=listing&campaign-id=14 No extra charges because they are actually a Polish company! Just make sure you have your UKARA number on the box like you would need to do if ordering from HK.
  17. Transparent looks a lot better than a bright colour! http://www.proairsoftsupplies.co.uk/cgi-bin/sh000001.pl?WD=transparent&PN=cm16_carbine_transparent%2ehtml#SID=239 Battery + charger shouldn't cost you any more than another £30-£40. Maybe up to £60 if you bought a good quality smart charger such as the IMAX B6. By the way Component-Shop are highly recommended for batteries and chargers. We should get a commission from them too!
  18. I always thought it was a UK company, my bad. I've never looked a lot on their website, hence why I didn't realise. Just had a look and a King Arms Sig 556 is £320-£390. I'd guess roughly $60 shipping from HK (so $315) 20% tax = $63 5% duty = $15.75 Total = around $400 (£235) 320 - 235 = 85 So you'd still save about £85-£150... So annoying airsoft has to be so expensive in Europe though (compared to the US and Asia)
  19. That's a good budget you have, but you're going to have a hard choice deciding. Like evil said a specific sort of gun you like would be very helpful. I would suggest going to a local airsoft store or skirmish if you can and ask to try a few so you can find some you like. Is good to find out which you prefer (feel / weight and so on) Also, if your regular site is going to be close quarters you might want to consider, say, an MP5 as opposed to an M16.
  20. You mean Hobbyking? I wouldn't think they would be UKARA registered. You can't even get a WE Gen 4 Glock that cheap in Europe so it's suspiciously / unbelievably cheap for that price (for a UK retailer) EDIT: Oh, they're HK based.
  21. What happened to the good deal thread or whatever it was called? Should've been stickied so people could find cheap stuff and it would help out beginners too if we could find it easily.

  22. The King Arms FAL is probably niche and uncommon enough, not to mention the SLR variant. I can't imagine they sold many at all, hence why they aren't re-stocking any.
  23. Hmm...well if you're not sure on a particular gun, my advice would be to actually go to a skirmish or preferably a local airsoft store if you can. That way you can hold a few different guns and see which ones you like. Also, it helps to know what your local site is going to be. For example so you can get a shorter weapon for CQC. I would recommend spending nearer to £300, and the rest on a battery / charger and extra magazines! For example: IMAX B6 smart charger = £30 from Cool Components LiPo Battery - £15 to £30 (depending on mAh capacity) Extra mags - should be around £30 - £60 (for a pack of five) Guns I'm personally wanting to get around that price are the G&G AKM and the KWA RM4 ERG. http://www.landwarriorairsoft.com/airsoft-weapons-c38/electric-rifles-c45/gkm-ak47-full-metal-real-wood-p1579 http://www.landwarriorairsoft.com/airsoft-weapons-c38/electric-rifles-c45/pts-pts-rm4-scout-erg-p2286 Hope this helps!
  24. Box of 5 King Arms mid-caps from eHobby Asia is £27 shipped IIRC. You shouldn't have to pay any tax / import duty on top of that for what they cost. Not sure how well they will work with an A&K though.
