if its venting out the barrel it sounds like a issue with the 3 way valve in the nozzle

is it emptying all the gas out of the barrel? If so it sounds like it could be an issue with the 3way valve in the nozzle not closing. it should look some thing like parts 21, 22, and 23, from page 14 of this manual http://manual.weairsoft.com/GBB-Pistol/HI-CAPA-5.1.pdf

is the slide retaining pin in place?? (stupid question i know)

the only time i have had something like this, with my dragon was when it was low on gas or the temperature was really low ... but not on the first shot i know you said its not the mag, but was it tested in another gun? did that gun cycle fine?

this is RM ... they can screw anything

forgot to mention, i have got mine it did come in a royal mail "our sincere apologies" bag .... but both patches were there ... so unless something was missing its all good

Ed, is there anyway to check for joule creep ? would chrono'ing say 1m after the barrel prove this? (please note i have no say in this site, rules or other, i just play there)

i have updated my original post, -the issue i believe is with polar star's -its a fair point, but it dose seem to be an issue with the 4 HPA guy's more than any one else. -This too is a fair point about site bb's etc -i never said to ban any thing ... but yeah this too happens to plate carriers -i never said to ban anything ... i mearly stated that i did agree with there points ... first and for most this is not a flame/rant from me, i have no issues with anyone using it etc. Here's the situation, there has been talk at a site i visit (semi only site), that HPA systems (polar star's) are unbalanced (vrs GBBR/AEG's), in so much that :- - with a hair trigger fitted a person can spam shots as fast as there finger can move, faster then most GBBR/AEG's in full auto, which kinda defeats the semi only rule. (after seeing one in full auto (bb laser beam) i would hate to be on the receiving end of that) - They seem to hurt a lot more then then AEG's (they have been chrono'ed etc and were below 350fps), yet i know 2 people who have have bled after being hit. - the air tank on there back means they don't always feel there hits (its happened and the offender was warned etc) From my perspective, after being on the receiving end from them, i have to agree with these points. But i was wondering what other people thoughts were on HPA rifles, are they over powered? do they seem to hit harder? is the tank a back shield?

welcome, as a starter to airsoft, you would be best going with electric

best advice i can give is, don't take it too seriously and you will be fine also wear what you want

the rail looks ok ... then again i do like rails on my weapons, it allows for flexibility ... and a vertical fore grip (i get wrist ache with a standard grip)

from your bullet points :- -Sparking on Trigger Contacts - its always gunna do that, unless you fit a mosfet -Terrible sounding (needs shimming and greasing) - try adjusting the motor, this can have a dramatic effect on sound -Its not very accurate - try a TM or G&G hop rubber, also clean your barrel as for the semi stuck thing, almost all aeg's do it, its usually caused by you lifting your trigger before your gun has finished cycling (your too fast). only real way to solve it is either a faster discharge battery, faster motor, or faster gears ... basically making your gun faster ... you get the picture as for the kong ... its not really a mosfet ... its more of a leach on your battery (in my view)

have you tried reassembling it with the original spring?
