  1. I'm fairly certain the Well R4 is a 100% clone of the TM MP7 since some guys who can't get Original TM parts buy the WELL gearboxes as spares. It's the only one i'd keep honestly. There is some parts support for it if you shop around on Hong kong based internet shops and you can make a decent shooter out of it with some work, good as a sidearm or backup gun. The others will be outmatched by hire guns,i would not waste time and money on them.
  2. Hmmm. Seems to only really save money in the long run(Does it even?),and I honestly find the convenience not so great since you have to pop it in and out of mags anyway. Am I misunderstanding something here? So to run this, which uses a standard GBB charging valve you'll need a Co2 charger which you can get for about 15 quid. That's 23 pounds already spent. Assume I have a gun with only one mag that fires 48 shots with a full Co2 cartridge on an average day, rather optimistic given Irish weather but whatever, let's also assume it's something like a KJW Hicapa which works on both Co2 and Green gas . After these shots I take out the mag and pop out the cartridge, which costs me 40p from the local shop. With this reusable cartridge though I need to take it out the mag, stick in the 40p cartridge into my fancy charger in order to fill the reusable cartridge. So I'm not really saving anything am I? And if I use green gas to fill the cartridge, will it be any more efficient than just using green gas mags for the gun? And if it is,is it really worth the hassle of refilling it over a GG mag? From what I see,it seems to be useless for most GBB pistols that use Co2 since most fire under site limits anyway. Rifles too since you can usually get NPAS for them, will the reusable cartridge on green gas have any efficiency or reliability gain over NPAS+Co2? I can only really see the benefit if you are using those KWC Non blowback pistols like the Makarov which is popular among Russiaboos, that shoot 400 out of the box. It seems to have a very limited use. Pardon me if I ranted or grossly misunderstood something, just after coming home from a bike trip
  3. Oh wow! That looks very nice. Huge improvement over brown plastic and by far better than any other imitation wood I've seen on AKs. The grain looks cheap enough to be an ak and fancy enough not to make it look like actual wood
  4. Interesting way of going about things, always nice to deviate from the norm sometimes, especially when you save money-That actually looks better than I expected, already miles better than any imitation wood on airsoft AKs. Should look better outdoors
  5. Pretty cool vid showing how our most beloved guns are made, produced by ICS marketing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iLVYAH5Afig

  6. Class,my first weekender is set 2 days after I get my licence. On the other hand,no games on in march and i can't afford to travel all the way to simtac in meath (((

  7. There is a chance that the cylinder isn't up to spec for the receiver and causing excess friction but On a TM VSR this is fairly rare. Bolt return is often stiff on guns with the stock trigger mech,so it's expected to some degree. Internal cylinder lubrication is a big factor. I'd just stick with that and not assume too much.
  8. Right,Enslaved's newest single is gonna be played on Radio 1. How long do you think I'll wave to wade through shite 'core' and rap metal?

dont know whatcha talkin' 'bout baby! But im off listening to some Denak followed by some good ol' Body Count

  9. Well, that will make dissasembly a bit easier. If it's one of those teflon coated ones avoid lubrocaring the exterior of it. What other upgrades does the gun have?
  10. Most likely the case. If it's a TM you will have to bore out the cylinder pin to unscrew the head. Unscrewing the head is easiest with a pin face spanner, but you can wrap some masking tape around the nozzle section and use regular pliers. Once it's open the piston, spring and spring guide should fall out. Take a rag and some rubbing alcohol to get rid of all the grease. You can also give the entire cylinder a lick of polish too. Re-grease with some medium viscosity silicone grease. I use abbey silicone gun grease with good results. Any grease that's low/medium viscosity and good for plastic on metal contact should do. Avoid spray stuff. Also do not forget the cylinder guide rings in the reciever, could also use a clean. I also lubricate the cylinder and those rings with some pure non spray silicone oil. You can scroll down to the second page on the vsr review on my sig if you are not sure of part names or search 'worst in finland's vsr take apart guide'
  11. But wait, there's more! The VSR I have has always had on and off minor feeding issues. I traced it to the nub which presses on a BB release button on the mag, pretty obvious. I always thought it was to do with adjusting the front stock screw and the mag catch spring. One day,all the issues went away after re assembling but cropped up again during sunday's game. It became clear that the nub was not applying enough pressure to release BBs. So I cut a small shim out of tin and glued it on the nub. All issues gone, mag no longer gets stuck, now falls free. If anyone else is having issues with their vsr about feeding or mags getting hard to take out give this fix a whirl. Very simple, steady hand and tweezers do the trick.
  12. A bit of in field "upgrading". Started bucketing rain in Bellurgan so I had to throw on some extremely impractical work gloves on instead of fingerless ones. VSR mag catch is already a bollocks to operate and impossible with gloves on,so I dug into my pack, pulled out a pen, knife and some glue. Cut the bellend of the pen off and glued it on the catch. Viola,no need to stretch my rectum and my wallet for PDi
  13. Gloves arrived. Lovely stuff, nice quality as usual with bundes surplus and surprisingly dextrous for winter gloves.
  14. BVRZVM TRVE METVL (It's dark ambient more than anything but whatever)
  15. http://www.amazon.co.uk/German-bundeswehr-Goretex-Flecktarn-Winter/dp/B00ARGSF90 Turns out fingerless leather gloves are horrible in Ireland except when the planets align sometimes in July. These should go lovely with my fleck mag pouches, and the boots to some extent- Speaking of those, but them through their paces in a 10 hour milsim. Bedded in Nicely. No sole wear- Leather scuffed a bit,too easily I'd say but didn't soak through after wading and 2 hours of lashing rain,so the factory hydrophobic treatment is good. Scuffing is not a major issue though, the outer layer is proper thick. Now comes cleaning and maintaining them, the fun part. Seems they don't like lanolin based cream, don't bead water well and had a dry waxy finish that I don't fancy much, feels like the leather is going to crack, so Best to stick with regular polish I guess.
  16. True,no matter what brand name they slap on it it's made by the same Asian basement foundry anyway.
  17. f*ck me,some arseholes robbed my bike. 600 euro and 150 in new parts down the drain. Got more than enough use over the past 2 years but this puts a pretty big dent in my wallet, can't dip into my college fund. Hopefully I can get some sort of transport without canning airsoft plans but it looks like i'll have to cut sh*t this year. Gutted.

  18. BW Kampfstiefel boots arrived ages ago but have not been too active on the forums. Here are the pics, finally. Moved this to loadout pics as I think I got them too long ago to justify a post on what have you just bought thread. Brand new,un-issued surplus. Date of manufacture is 09/08 so the 2007 model.According to some guys on militarist.ua there's also a 2009 revision going about with 2014 manufacturing dates (made for Army of Kazakhstan and Latvia IIRC) but there's only a really a small difference in leather grain and probably just new molds for the soles or something,so no design changes but small manufacturing ones. Honestly it's no big deal. Purchased from Bundeswehr und mehr.de,on ebay. Lovely shop, great communication and service. 10/10 from me,could not be happier. Probably one of the better places for 'wehr kit on the web IMO. All the manufacturing codes on the tongue seem to be legit, made by Prabos, some Czech contractor for the bundeswehr. Couldn't be happier with them. Need thick af socks for them but fit like a glove, only really need A little breaking in around the 3rd and 4th eyelets/hooks where a lot of the stress goes. Kind of have a bellows/breathing thing going on,hardly broke a sweat after wearing immensely thick socks and a long walk. Couple of microscopic air bubbles and some tiny ass melts on the sole, only major flaw is by the seam on the front where it seems to have melted too much. Will not impact durability whatsoever. Cost about 105 euro including P&P. Pretty good for a brand new pair. Always nice to move up in the world, especially in boots. F*ck all those old farts who scream 'they don;t make em like they used to',these don't give you trench foot, cut into your shins and don;t require you to piss inside them to soften them up.
  19. EDIT: Moved to load out pics, more appropriate. http://www.airsoft-forums.co.uk/index.php/topic/807-load-out-pics/page-111
  20. Looks like a TM clone. No front trunnion/sight block pin like on VFC/Real takedown AKs
  21. Your parts list seems solid. Trigger upgrades are an absolute must for VSRs because the stock ones are total wank. 90 degree system is nice, smooth and reliable. Aspuk/AirsoftPro Triggers have a good reputation. On the barrel- The stock one is quite good,What I'd do with it is just give it a good polish. Shooter barrels aren't generally bought since people like to stick with PDi and laylax since they have the best quality full stop which is a big factor since you need to make every shot count. PTFE tape to cyl head is standard stuff. Can;t go wrong. I'd also reccomend sealing the hop up bucking with dental floss or plain old silicone sealant. Dental floss works better than PTFE tape in my experiences. Also you can make some barrel spacers easily,I like to use Masking tape more since it isn't as stretchy or sticky as electrical tape and It's easier to take apart and stick back in. Polish the cylinder a bit too,and use the stock Marui O ring from the piston or a no.14 O ring. These give very good seals. Make sure to secure the threading on the ball bearing spring guide with loctite so it won't come apart. If you want to go a step further with hop up,go for the Action Army hop up chamber. These have gotten rave reviews and are pretty much said to be the best aftermarket hop for the VSR. If you want to stay on a budget then go for the Dangerwerx Type A(If you want to use the stock rubber or Laylax purple) or Type B(Pdi W hold or maple leaf) For rubbers; Laylax purple,PDi W hold,Maple leaf and The stock marui ones are my faves. 500FPS isn;t an absolute must for good performance. 400-450 is a good zone, gives you a smaller Minimum engagement distance and the same benefits of 500FPS without heavy bolt pull. For BBs,wash them. Lots come in greasy mold release agent which can contaminate the hop and barrel over time and are gripped less by the rubber. A soak in fairy liquid is my method and it works well. Green Devil bios and Blasters are good in my experience. Go as heavy as your hop up unit can lift is my advice
  22. Boots arrived. Lovely bits of kit, quality is much better than brit pros. they're used but look new, bundeswehrundmehr seem to stay true to condition choices. Gonna have my brit pros sent off to be resoled in ukraine and then donated to the army or something.

  23. Facebook accounts don;t have to be real. I have one since Bellurgan announce all their news through fb(Though thankfully use a google docs form for joining and all that craic)and it;s proper filled with lies, nobody actually checks that stuff so you can be decently anonymous on facebook- You can also keep actual information through PM with organizers
  24. Well,Christams for me is not until January, but I've bought all the stuff I wanted already: A pair of ultra gopnik adidas tracksuit pants. Very pajama like but should be nice to stick under under M65s if it's cold or wet outside. I guess the Haix Kampfstiefel 2007 boots I ordered count. Still stuck in parcel sorting in Dublin. and Enslaved RIITIIR hoodie. Cost a fair bit but hopefully I won;t grow out of it quickly like I did with with all my previous band merch
