Load-Out / Loadout Picture topic
Unrustle_Thine_Jimmies replied to Nutster's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
Yeah, they're really comfortable, fit my feet very well,a dream to walk in especially with some sorbothane insoles. Also some of the cheapest good quality goretex boots you can find, got mine for about 30 euro and the quality is far better than anything in the same goretex boot price range. Only thing I'd fault them is that the commando soles are not made of the strongest stuff in the world, but mine have survived 3 27 hour milsim games, lots of hiking and mountain biking and a soviet industrial estate before they started to come apart, added to that an Afghan tour before I got them. Cheapest place I can get them resoled wants 40 euro, which is a bit much for my tastes so I might get some german paras after the soles go on these, but I don;t think there are any goretex lined paras aside from ones I've seen from dodgy ebay sellers. -
I've spotted the CYMA on AirsoftGlobal, although CYMA is spelled wrong http://www.airsoftglobal.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=19693 Looks to be a clone of the Silverback and not it's own thing like the JG. It's a tough choice. JG have the best gearbox(IMO) but a crappy hopup and a plastic body, along with the strange hicap. S&T has a steel body but internals are not as good as CYMA and JG and construction quality is iffy. CYMA,going by previous experience have the best accuracy and hopup but suffer from a plastic body and QC on their gearboxes has not impressed me to say the least.

Load-Out / Loadout Picture topic
Unrustle_Thine_Jimmies replied to Nutster's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
The rest of my kit's the the post so here's the only bit I brought back from Ukraine,Also a nice opportunity to test out the newly repaired camera on my N900. My boots after a year and a bit of usage. They have about 3 or 4 layers of wax and scuff coat. Soles have gotten a very thorough wrecking in Ukraine, the cheese like rubber did not enjoy abandoned soviet industrial estates. Still usabel and grippy though, only the right boot has really suffered on sole wear. Will beat them to death by next summer so I can either get something newer and better,or maybe even have them resoled. -

I'd actually advise against Russian boots. I've had a pair similar to those you posted and they were probably the worst boots I've ever owned. Here's the thing-They are decently durable, stitching's nice but the material is poor. They're extremely stiff at first. Once you bed them in by either walking in them a lot or pissing in them they become loose and give poor ankle support. The soles aren't great, grip is pretty lackluster. They're not water proof,Went in a few games in light rain and of course everything soaked through. The boots started rotting along with my feet, the leather just started to degrade rapidly. I couldn't justify them aside from the price and the fact that they look bloody amazing. They'd be great for cosplay and re enactment There's a damn good reason the modern Russian army is using Lowas and civilian hiking boots instead of issue ones. Stick with German paras man, they look just as good and the quality is undeniably better. -
That's bloody fantastic work Ian. I would;t mind the bodged look on it,the texture and construction looks like something from a target pistol already and function over form any day. The texture itself looks very grippy and should be great with gloves so I wouldn't worry too much about the look. I would say I would do something like that but I don;t want to ruin my VSR stock,it's already perfect for my hands anyway. Bookmarked the page, wealth of information in your post should be helpful.

CYMA CN041J VS CM045C
Unrustle_Thine_Jimmies replied to SuicidalBarrelRoll's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
Sorry,I think I confused the 049 with the 046 Ak47 blowback- Happens to me often with CYMA models and the clusterfuck that is their lineup. I can;t give any personal experience with the 049 MP5,but going by previous experience with CYMA the blowback Shouldn't be too big of a breaking point- However the design they use is inherently flawed and likes to break,it depends a lot of QC and metal quality which CYMA isn;t the strongest in. I'd go for the non blow back MP5 to be on the safe side. The only blowbacks I really trust are G&G's pmneumatic systems which don;t tend to rape the gear train if something goes wrong. -
CYMA CN041J VS CM045C
Unrustle_Thine_Jimmies replied to SuicidalBarrelRoll's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
Well, really, the 045 is better than the EBB 049. The 045 is based on the venerable VFC AK design which is all pins like the real thing and not screws. The 049 is based on the old Marui screwed design which isn't as durable- The 049 also has much less steel components. They both use simialr gearboxes however. Personally my experience with CYMA has been...not so great. On newer models The GB shell seems to suffer, mainly in the drilling on the bushing holes. The ones I worked on were all crooked making shimming and proper gear meshing impossible. However bar the crappy gearbox shells and some compatibility issues(Which were fixed by lots of filing) the internal parts quality is decent. Usable 18TPA motors which are nice and torquey,Gearsets are like most ACM sets, very strong. Pistons are a mixed bag for a lot of people,The ones I had were pretty good. Air seal parts were usable. The ones I worked on had dual O ring cylinder heads! Hop up units on most CYMA guns are very nice. They use split nib buckings like the pdi W hold and perform very well Personally I usually go to JG since their gearbox quality and QC is better, but CYMA have better out of the box accuracy by miles -
There are also a few PP19s coming out from other Chinese companies. JG released one not long ago and it was subsequently re-branded by Echo1 in the states. It has a plastic body and a different assembly style to the S&T/Silverback,it's in the Blacksheep/echo1 marketing team comparison you read Ian. It's also got the funky anti rattle high cap design. The CYMA one is an interesting specimen. It isn't all metal which is odd for CYMA,I'd expect it to at least have a zamak body. It has a plastic receiver just like the JG but appears to be a clone of the Silverback like the S&T,I can't confirm this 100% though. Overall I'd quite like a Bizon, would be a nice sniper backup-More reliable than an AEP and much easier to work on. If I were to buy one I'd probably gofor the JG since their gearboxes are great and the plastic body reduces weight. CYMA would be a nice option due to their sexy hop up units but I've had nothing but trouble with them recently- Gearbox shells being off spec and even receivers being off, they seem to be on a roll of bad QC recently. I'd be wary of silverback clones but I have faith enough in our Chinese friends that they might have the ingenuity to fix the silverback's fuckups, such as the piss poor selector mech, and gun jamming semi being a gearbox releated issue that would be a given to fix. Silverback has the advantage of being full steel and having sexual accuracy, but the price is high as per usual. JG is probably my favorite out of all the clones.

So it just whines and no 'pop' from piston compression or movement? Something stripped. Could be the piston or one of the gears. G&G gears have sometimes had bad batches. Only wya to find out really is to open it up and see.

S'got a nicer sticker m8. What motor? I personally recommend either the ZCI balanced/SHS high toruqe(Same motor under different brands) or the ZCI High torque(22TPA which is really Fvckin powerful. It really depends what you are looking for. A balanced motor gives a nice ROF and trigger response increase, especially with a high speed gearset. A high torque(like a 22TPA) will see a decrease in ROF but a big increase in trigger response. It can also pull heavier springs and it'll run cooler and more efficiently.

Turns out, according to KhanSeb,that Pulse Japan IS NOT closing, but they are changing name and website domain for legal reasons, the service and prices will return. So guys who own recoil shocks, hell, anyone looking for Marui original spares can rest at ease.

SHS high torque is a good option. I would have recommended the ZCI high torque( made in the same factory as SHS IIRC) which is a good bit more torquey and runs cooler, more efficiently and gives better trigger response at the cost of speed. If you want to do a 'proper' motor installation you may want to take the gun to tech to have the shimming redone,bevel-pinion shimming is the source of 90% of screech and resistance. However you can just drop it in and adjust height and it should work reasonably well.

Not much. Two 8Fields double 9mm mag pouches in Flecktarn, from the shop 'Sturm' in Lviv. Pouches are nice quality, stitching and materials are surprisingly good for ACM bit of a bargain since they only cost 4 pounds each. I wanted to get some .45 mag pouches for the hicapa I'm getting when I return but they didn't have them in stock due to the ATO affecting the supplier. Will have to shell out for the Pantac ones the local shop in eire -
Upgrading a Marui Recoil shock Scar
Unrustle_Thine_Jimmies replied to ItsAJ's topic in Electric Guns
He's got it the other way round, but he's close, yet far :L. Accuracy comes from bore straightness, consistency and internal finish/machining quality. Generally it's harder keeping perfect tolerances on a tightbore so wider bore like 6.05 and 6.08 are easier to keep nice, straight and smooth. That said it all varies manufacturer to manufacturer,PDi for example advertise their 6.05 and 6.08 SUS 304 barrels as accuracy barrels yet their Raven 6.01s are often more or the same accuracy, though it depends greatly on the application. Keep the barrel length the same,I'd say. If you want power get 6.03,6.01 might put you over the limit. For a good barrel PDi are by far the best, internal finish is second to none, they're made with cold hammer forging and top notch machine work. BUT,they are very expensive, depends on length though. You can get them for the best price on Xfire.org. Prometheus are next- Internal finish can actually get quite spotty sometimes but the second to PDi. Nice quality and performance. You can find them in most retailers Madbull are cheap, good bang for buck. Only thing i'd say is stay away from the steel bull line since they have some QC issues like pitting and machinign errors. Black python V2s are good. ZCI are copies of the prommies. Their internal finish is absoloutly gob smacking for 20 quid. Often need a polish to get the best though. -
Upgrading a Marui Recoil shock Scar
Unrustle_Thine_Jimmies replied to ItsAJ's topic in Electric Guns
Stock they shoot at 290-300 OP's on the 1J limit anyway so there's not much left to improve unless you want to squeeze every single bit of performance out of it or want to go for a joule creep build. I'd say leave it alone,in a 1J country Marui are kings of the stock gun(and tend to be better than most of the half-arsed 'upgraded' guns you see about) If you want extra power get a 6.03 tightbore, even that could get you to illegal power. -

Cylinder is just a cylinder. As long as it has a good polish there will be no difference between a 100$ one and a 10$ one. Give it a good polish(fair amount of how tos on this) to get the best out of it -
TM AK47S Ex rental. Memory is spotty on it,but It was in very rough shape. Stock broken off, receiver cracked, handguards held on with tape, shit ton of screws missing,no sights,etc.. used it for about a year until I blew up the fuse(Somehow) decided I got enough use out of it and threw it in a bin. Was a nice enough gun. Being in Ireland TM are just about the best thing bar upgraded guns since they're noticeably better at 1J than a lot of other stock guns Replaced that with a CYMA M4 CQBR than I had for a few months before I had to return it because it,well, disintegrated and was a massive lemon in general. Then got a TM VSR and here I am now.
-
Ah,then that's no big deal. You will have to undo the other to get it out anyway. For re-installation you will have to solder them again or grab some spade connectors. It might even have some connectors on it but some ACM brands like to solder wires on to save pennies/get a better connection.
-
Swedes are not allowed guns and parts(without a license all all that cack) it might be a bugger to get. You can try importing from Finland or somewhere where funs are allowed.
-
You would have to remove the soldering to get the motor out anyway so it's no big loss. Grab a soldering iron and undo the other connection, and take out the motor to continue on with the grip replacement. Unless I'm mistaken and the whole wire has come out of the gun

It's a bit of a shame we can't replace all the mongs with jcheese -
But do note that Norinco AKs are slightly different in small tolerances and dimensions than Russian,Bulgarian and Romanian AKs. You might have to do a bit of filing, but otherwise, real parts should fit with no massive hassle.

I don't know very much about the bolt AEGs since I've yet to molest one, however one bit of information going around, that's been proven pretty well is that the gear train is utter sh*t. Bolt/LCT(The OEM according to several reviewers and WGC shop) cut costs on gears and mixed metals that generally shouldn't be mixed. Example, the spur gear is made out of stainless steel, not heat treated. Good right? except it contacts a heat treated carbon steel sector gear that chews up the spur gear. Not only this but the spur's teeth are not very big and have a bevel to allow more tolerance/forgiveness for poor shimming. The pinion gear and bevel gear are sintered steel which is weaker and not as dense as stainless steel,so the bevel could be damaged by the spur or vice versa,I'm not sure if the bevel is heat treated. Aside from this internal quality has been met with 'meh' to acceptable. The recoil mech is designed similar to the modify tremors kit, however bolt and LCT did a decent job at keeping it reliable by changing some things like recoil weight position and not breaking all the time, bar the crappy gearset. They kick really hard and external quality is top notch from what I hear, but a it pricey for what you are getting. KWA and Tokyo Marui recoil shocks are much more reliable and better options.
