I chopped the bottom out of an old washing powder tub and taped a pillowcase to it. No more clearing up, just unzip the pillowcase into the bin.

I thought, as we do not seem to be getting a game in the next few weeks up here, that I’d knock up a belt kit. This was largely based on me buying an HK45 Tac last week (Thanks Rob!).

    From left to right:
    - Pair of Esstac Kywi pistol pouches, they look too close to each other for the base plates in this image but once curved around a midriff they fit perfectly.
    - Pair of Esstac Kywi mid height M4 pouches for fast reloads.
    - Double M4 mag pouch with either an Odin speedloader or two more mags.
    - Tactical Tailor water bottle/GP pouch, for either water or assorted crap.
    - Emdom BOMB pouch for bangs or as a rough admin pouch.
    - WAS Universal holster with TM HK45 Tactical.

I’ve not had the chance to use it in a game yet but it all works well in drills so far.

Just recently, a TM HK45 Tactical, Esstac double mag pouches, TM pistol speedloader (boy, is the difference noticeable to cheap Lonex ones), WAS universal holster. I got a crazy jet barrel and two hop rubbers to see if there is a significant difference from the already excellent TM setup.

Also, a small pile of bits from Tacticaltrim.de to see about making some elastic mag pouches - shit brown bank robber rig, anyone?

I'll be sure to let you know. It should be here in a few days.

I'm not expecting it to be an FRV/Ronin beater for that money, but I'm mildly optimistic about it being fine for Airsofting a few times a month anyway.

The way i've always run is centre of mass of what i see. It's not just out of sympathy but increasing my chance of hitting given the sketchy nature of airsoft ballistics.

Headshots are a fact of the game, if all you have to shoot at is a face or a hand or a foot then that's what you shoot at.

But regardless of wether or not he's intentionally aiming for headshots when alternatives are available or just editing the camera footage to make it look like that's what he's doing is irrelevant, point is its the portrayal of doing it is the problem coupled with the sketchy "snowflake dont wanna get shot dont play" attitude because that's whats setting an example to new players.

I suspect that its an evolution. His earlier vids arent near as bad but i think once he put a few up after encountering drama "in the wild" and saw the viewa he's snowballed to the point i wouldnt be surprised he's trying to generate drama to keep the clickbait rolling.

The outer diameter is 3.1mm, personally I don't like using anything larger than 2mm.  Super flexible but large, can be tricky to run inside a V2 gearbox

Thanks for the help and warm welcome, I think you also posted on my first post

I remember saying a few things on a Bushcraft forum when I first started with that that was controversial and my views on that now are the opposite end of the scale. A bit of experience will go a long way. Out of interest and for my awareness which elements of his sportsmanship are considered to be controversial?

I have the local sports ringmakred and will be visiting them after a bit more of the dust has settled with them just reopening.  I've had a read about UKARA and my local sites have shops.

I have a set of Bolle clear goggles with black frames which I use for Winter Night Navigation to keep the snow out but aid visibility. I wonder if they will be good enough, I'll take them with me.

Are there many Milsims that would allow for sniping/recognisance working in a small team etc.

    Cheers,

So, my purchase arrived eventually. Nearly a month to come from Holland 😧 and as expected it is a cheap knockoff. A tiny part of me was hoping for a trademarked Acog as in the advert, but no, just a cheap looking fibre optic red dot. To be fair the fibre optic does seem to work, but as this is advertised as something for real steel shooters there is no way this will stand up to the punishment of a 5.56. I’m not disappointed as I wasn’t expecting much and it’s no worse than a cheap Acog you’d get on any airsoft site. I’ll probably use it in a future project, give it a spray paint or something. But, it shows those Facebook adverts are not worth the punt.

Ropeyshep reacted to Crazy_Crystal in do People Take Milsims Too Seriously ?
I think that sums up a lot of the challenges of running a milsim although I disagree with the other poster that they are not Airsoft. I understand not everyone will appreciate that it's not a constant 24hr battle but rather an event that builds up to a crescendo much like any good film...

I think a lot of the issues people face are generally caused by the management or lack thereof of the different sides... if each side is given objectives which are regularly updated and a reasonable commander you suddenly lose the sense of standing around doing nothing and instead you are a part of a team working towards an objective even if it is just being on stag. unfortunately this requires a very good DS team who are really on the ball which tend to be a minority... certainly not something that can just be thrown together.

anyway that's my thoughts on it. With regards to the OP, I think the answer is yes and no... they just require a different mindset and milsims tend to have a little less flexibility with the set objectives and greater team work that is sometimes required.

Imagine a car that took three seconds to move after you depress the accelerator at a junction. Seems about that useful. Could introduce an element of thrilling doubt to matters but not in a way you’d enjoy.

As has been mentioned, gradual improvement is still an achievement. For example I find myself far more aware of where I can be shot be shot from when using cover and adjust my stance appropriately. When I first played my elbows and knees were left protruding and I could still be easily hit.

Northamptonshirea Armed Response Team were most amused - they were on duty at the time i was involved in an attempted armed robbery.

I had been mugged at " gunpoint" by some twat who thought that holding a Browning Hi-Power replica in a "gangsta stylee grip " was the best idea.

The Plod asked how i knew it wasnt a real pistol. So, showed him the collection.

i dunno, you gotta start somewhere, i'd be a hypocrite if i said i didn't do exactly the same (hell i double whammy'd it by buying a unicorn as a first gun), i've walked that walk of shame with a broken gat many times (even several times in one game)

pretty much everything i've learned has come mostly from fucking it up the first time and never letting a good gun sit for long without trying out some new tweak. hell the reason i joined this forum was a madcap "i'm gonna revolutionize airsoft" idea which unsurprisingly went nowhere.

hell i still do it, can't stop, it's an obsession.

    i probably need help......

however, the one bit of advice i wish anyone, including past me, would take on board before starting the roller-coaster that is modding airsoft guns is this:

have a good backup before you start. and don't fuck with it

I used to use one all the time at the mall. It's really bright, doesn't skip any BBs and battery lasts a good old while:
