  1. We obviously watch some of the same YouTube vidjas 😂
  2. Use a hole saw and guide to cut a lifetimes supply of polycarbonate discs and affix with a bit of tape. I like the tap into the front of a flat red dot idea, for some reason I’d always assumed there must be some mechanism or electronics in there that I’d destroy.
  3. I got a C04 as an experiment and it works very well, hops 3.2g nicely, tough plastic body horrible RIS fore end. Only real issue I’ve encountered is the stock is slightly slower to change a battery in than the Krytac. Get one, it’s too cheap not to have a go with.
  4. Hooray for lazy journalism then. https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2020/jul/28/what-are-the-rules-governing-the-use-of-air-guns-in-the-uk
  5. Is there a resource (or does anyone know) what the approximate order of release/development of TM pistols was? I’m just interested in the general development of their various generations and tech.
  6. What you’ve described is the pick ‘n’ pluck foam mentioned above.
  7. Aye, it’s the bottom option on the Submit Advert drop down menu.
  8. There’s the tricky area of liability too. If the spoutings were libellous, the site owner or admin can be held as the publisher and jointly sued with the spouter. Also, who wants to tune into something they’ve made and love to have it wrecked by someone they hate? Rules are rules but if you run a pub and someone really gets on your tits, you just tell them to fuck away off and darken someone else’s urinals.
  9. Think of it like dropping into Normandy in Band of Brothers, just link up with others and take it from there. Or hang out cosplaying shrubbery, both are totally good options.
  10. Shopping. I’ve got so much crap hoarded that I won’t need to leave the house for three years.
  11. Pyramex dual pane I-sport goggles work well for me. https://smile.amazon.co.uk/Pyramex-I-Force-Slim-Sporty-Goggle/dp/B00PWVBS0I Or save a bit and get some Bolle X800i
  12. The semi-garbage blatter can also be a good learning platform for teaching yourself techery. I bought literally the cheapest AR platform I could find for that very purpose. It’s a little tuition station that I don’t mind doing harm to that will also be there if I have a mechanical failure on a game day. And, if my long guns go down together, there’s always a pyro-only afternoon to enjoy.
  13. Good points all. You need to think about what the statute of limitations is on this, does having a 3x great grandfather who fought at Salamanca mean nobody can wear an original Rifles uniform in a Sharpe cosplay or a grandad at Passchendale or dad who was on Sword beach at D-Day +5? Offence can be found in a lot of places nowadays, what if you had mates who worked on CP jobs in Iraq 20 years ago, does that mean 5.11 keks, polo shirts and Oakleys are off limits? Don't pretend to be someone you are not and don’t wear anything you think might upset someone who worked hard to get it and you’ll be grand. I’m pretty sure that someone, somewhere, will be offended at airsofters wearing surplus issue kit but fuck that guy, his opinion is worthless. The golden rule of life is: Don’t be a dick.
  14. It looks like it’s been mistakenly flagged as a real air pistol rather than an airsoft version of a real air pistol. Air pistols are unusual things to make replicas of.
  15. I gave it a go, it didn’t agree with me 🧐
  16. Less hamsteriness in my future. Why are simple things not obvious until someone says it.
  17. They are a doddle to make, I did one last week to move an admin pouch below my chest rig. Rectangular 6”x 7” bagGed panel with 3” of Velcro at the top and 3 rows of 1” webbing at the bottom.
  18. It’s like looking through a rain soaked window. I prefer it to fog but I’m very pleased I came across Bolle X800s, they vent as well as anything, I’m very impressed. Though, having read a bit and been impressed with what I’ve read, I might be tempted to give Heroshark a message before autumn rolls around in Scotland.
  19. How are they different? Pitch gauges give you number of teeth per mm and various Whitworth, AF and suchlike old timey pitches. Threads are threads, nothing uses a completely unique version of them. These threads (🧐 sorry ) seem to suggest a 1 3/16” 16tpi threadform for that stock tube thread on an AR15 which would seem to be the same fitting as a SCAR. http://chaski.org/homemachinist/viewtopic.php?t=76344 https://www.ar15.com/forums/ar-15/What_is_the_thread_pitch_on_a_buffer_tube_/118-263144/ Pick up a dirt cheap TPI and metric versions for your future use: https://www.amazon.co.uk/sourcing-map-Thread-Cutting-Measuring/dp/B07TXZTC6B/ https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B07PDG5ZML
  20. And a thread pitch gauge. They are cheap and amazingly handy.
  21. I recently bought a TM HK45 Tactical and fancied seeing if there was any significant improvement to be had from a Maple Leaf Crazy Jet barrel and Autobot hop rubber, being impatient, I went for a 97mm barrel figuring that it would be functionally no different from the correct 100mm barrel. Turns out I was wrong and the barrel (designed for the Glock range) didn't fit in the TM hop unit very well at all. The problem is in the layout of the various locating grooves and flats on the barrels, as you should be able to see, there is a big difference in the size of the flats on the original brass barrel and the new barrel, these flat areas mate with raised areas inside the hop unit, when I first went for a test fit the hop unit wouldn't go back together at all. I've since seen a lot of posts from Mk23 owners who remove the raised area in their units to allow the barrel to seat fully. I figured that wasn't for me for a couple of reasons, TM designed the barrel retention that way and they know more about hop up design than I do, also, a new hop unit is expensive and hard to find, a new Maple Leaf barrel is cheap and easy to find. Decision made, the barrel is getting ground away. First step is to mark the area and firmly but carefully hold the barrel. Then select a wide radius Dremel grinding stone to help keep the area relatively flat. I wish I owned a milling machine (for probably the fiftieth time this week) which would leave a much nicer and more precise finish. I just have to be careful. You could do this on the kitchen table with a clamp and a file but I have these tools so they are what I'll use. After grinding the first side it fits well into the opposing side of the hop unit (you can see the raised flat area pretty clearly here). I tried a test fit and it was a lot better but still not quite closing nicely (notice the small gap between the two halves) so there was a problem on the other side and it is that the groove fits a raised ridge in the hop unit, this should be sorted with a quick buff to widen the Maple Leaf groove. Once all the grinding I could think of was done it went back together nicely. The Autobot rubber is a wee bit thicker than the TM rubber so it's still a little bit of a squeeze but it went back nicely and the nub is pretty well centred. Put the whole pistol back together and it shoots straight over ten metres, need a longer test process to set up properly and see what the real accuracy is like.
