  1. seeing this thread, i now have the urge to return to my old Nuprol pioneer defender AEG and fettle with it. i fitted a MAXX tracer hop unit (along with a prommy purple bucking and a firefly namazu nub) and i was fiddling with it over lockdowns. the last i recall it was feeding reliably on test shots, but then i came across the tippmann and i fell to the dark side.... after getting the tippmann, the nuprol became one of my backup guns, but aside from the occasional dry fire to ensure it still functions, it has not been used in almost a year now. will probably take it to a range tomorrow and see how its performing, as i may bring it out as my primary for the upcoming AI500 rather than lugging the much heavier tippmann and HPA tank around negative by name, negative by nature... i dont pay much attention to NA... he just seems to slag off anything that he didnt build, and anything he just doesnt like.. which seems to be a lot.
  2. first gun i owned was a nuprol pioneer defender ( https://onlyairsoft.com/product/nuprol-delta-pioneer-defender-black/ ), gifted to me by my brother for my first game a couple of years ago, not long before the pandemic struck. having been bitten by the bug, i managed to get my three games in before lockdown 1, and bought myself a WE glock 26c advance as a sidearm. i still own both guns, although i will likely sell the glock as i dont use it anymore, preferring my john wick hicapa. the defender was upgraded during lockdown 2 with an m105 spring, MAXX tracer hop unit, prommy purple bucking and a firefly namazu nub... but it was used once and has now been retired, serving as a backup gun, in case my tippmann ever lets me down.
  3. Generally I let all my guns wear naturally as they get used and shot (yes it does happen). My John wick hicapa has some pretty heavy wear marks from being carried in a quick release holster on the chest of my plate carrier. I will give all my guns a clean after a game day to remove any mud/plant material as well as prevent rusting, but beyond that and cleaning the barrels, I don't bother about marks, as I'm more worried about replacing parts that are actually broken, such as the safety on my hicapa and missing (dummy) bolt release on my tippmann. That being said, I am planning to restain the wood furniture on my S&T Lee enfield to make it look less orange in photos, and appear more realistic colour.... but I still don't care about scratches/marks from being used
  4. hi everyone, hoping i can pick the collective hive mind that is this forum of ours i have a friend/work colleague who has the titular airsoft pistol he wishes to get rid of, and has asked for my help, however i am not well versed with KWA RIFs, so im hoping there is someone more knowledgeable than me that can assist. -the pistol comes in its original box though this has seen some wear and tear, and comes with one magazine. -the magazine has been stored with gas in it, and after venting and refilling the mag, i can confirm that it is gas tight -the pistol is two-tone with a blue slide. the paint is in decent condition, but with a couple of minor dings in the paint (see pics attached) -the barrel is clean and free from scratches -the right hand slide release lever has a little free play, but does operate - i have dry fired a couple of shots, and the slide cycles correctly and locks back as it should. not really sure what else to say about it, other than that it was bought a few years ago by my colleague as he was looking into starting airsoft, but realised he didnt have the free time needed, so it has only had a couple of mags worth fired from it as target practice.
  5. Nope, not normal... and that video actually shows a fairly slow rate of fire. I regularly see players that switch to their pistols for close-up action firing much quicker than that with no venting.
  6. WHAAAATT? It's a good gun... why the hate?
  7. Well, I can only speak from personal experience, as I only have one M4 AEG... Nuprol Pioneer Defender. Approx £110, has tightbore barrel as standard, is Rear wired and has a quick change spring in gearbox. Mine hasn't seen a lot of use since I changed over to my Tippmann, but I dropped in a new spring and spring guide, MAXX hop unit with built-in tracer unit as well as shimming gearbox (probably not perfect, but does the job).
  8. They were indeed awesome. I was there in Coventry with my brother, we booked our tickets originally in 2020, but had to wait for the rescheduled dates. Before that, (and pandemic) I went to see Rammstein at MK Don's stadium in Milton Keynes in 2019. In December 2019 I went to Sweden for the Sabaton Cruise... the band hired out an entire cruise ship, sold cabins to fans, then we sailed across the baltic from Stocholm to Tallinn on Estonia and back again (after a day in Tallinn) with a heavy metal concert on board in both directions, with a few different bands as support acts (names elude my memory, but I can look up pics later) I also went to Black Sabbaths final live show in Birmingham back on Feb 4th 2017. It was an amazing show, but also tinged with sadness, knowing that it was the final show. Black Sabbath was going to be my first ever live show, until at the last minute I saw tickets on sale to see Sabaton in London the week before... so for £30 plus my rail fare I went to see Sabaton as my first show
  9. sorry @Rogerborg but im going to have to side with druid here... you cant control freak accidents. your argument is the same as someone knocking on your door and saying "im revoking your drivers licence and crushing your car, because there is a small chance that you might run someone over if they step in front of you from between 2 parked vehicles and you couldn't see them until the last second".. rate of fire, yes, that is an issue that, TBH, ALL sites need to look at... there is no reason to have the same rate of fire as a minigun from a little cut-down m4.... but then again, at what point do you draw the line? (and this also harkens back to the argument about DMRs from a few weeks back) ok.. now im curious WTF happened in this incident... aside from what you just said in your last message...
  10. not sure thats a good thing though....
  11. it does look more user friendly... but the other big issue he didnt mention in the video (aside from the possible legality issues here in UK that have already been raised by @SeniorSpaz87) is how much those rounds and launch shells are going to cost.... im going to stick with my Mk2s and CO2 shells thank you...
  12. true, the fill nozzles dont look any different, but i have had a couple of cheaper CO2 fillers that have blown seals or leaked around the pressure gauges (which rarely worked) plus not venting excess CO2 properly when replacing an almost empty capsule... i then bought the FIST2 and never had an issue again. i also found that i was getting 5 or 6 fills on the TAG shell before performance of the rounds began suffering and needed a fresh bulb not heard of this one before... so what are they using instead of gas to propel it then?
  13. i know Apocalypse allow them, as i have used them there myself last year. AWA Herts also say they allow them as long as you arc them.. but given how many trees are around the objectives you might fire one at, then getting a good shot will be difficult. I will be following this thread with interest, as I am also seeking out as many sites that allow tags as I can.. im want to try out as many new sites as I can this year, and being able to use TAG rounds will be a bonus. I have an S&T M320 on my Tippmann, and am fed up with my MOSCART shells either leaking (despite numerous rebuilds with new seals, valves etc) or having such short range as to be useless... when they haven't leaked between game start and pulling the trigger on the launcher i got most of my tag stuff from www.airsoftworld.net (based in scotland)... have a look and see if they have the shells or FIST2 devices in stock... and in case you didnt already have this information... i have been informed by other TAG users that green gas shells are no good for the newer rounds, so you need the CO2 shells (with gold band) or HPA shells (with red band) to reliably ignite the fuses on the pyro rounds
  14. Well you can take it from a not so new account that all 3 of those new accounts matches my experiences with only airsoft. Very friendly staff and I have always had a laugh with them whenever I go in store. Most of my aisoft arsenal has been purchased through their shop, and I will happily continue shopping with them. I had an issue with the WA2000 I bought from them where the bolt jammed as i tried to cock it. Took the gun back to them and they had it fixed within 2 weeks. I have been shopping with them for the past 2 ½ years since I started airsoft, and my brother has been using them for even longer
  15. Oh, I was going to shop around... I just found the parts listed on DCA while looking up what I needed.
  16. OK, so call me insane, but over the weekend, I have had a mad urge to modify my tippmann m4v2 into an L119A2. So I know that there are a bunch of angry gun parts that are made for this purpose, so my main question is will these parts fit the tippmann, or will I need to look at custom parts? (Basically all these parts... https://www.davescustomairsoft.co.uk/index.php?route=product/search&search=L119a2 ) Also, I am aware that GBB and AEG buffer tubes are different diameters, so will I require a real steel Magpull stock? Or will the real steel stock be too sloppy?
  17. Picked up a bargain last weekend at the shift your rifts event at Abingdon, but only just got round to posting... 15 x Madbull XM204 CO2 moscarts plus a bag full of spare O-rings and fill valves... for £300 spending today stripping them all to replace any perished O-rings and lubricate them all to ensure they are ready for next game day.
  18. Thank you rogerborg. As for the puttees.... They didn't seem to sit right over the boots I was wearing, so I rushed off to the briefing without putting them on. Next time though, I should have a better pair of boots that aren't so chunky
  19. I was also at the shift your rifts event both days. Ran my new ww1 kit on the Saturday. I need to get a proper canvas holster for the webley, but they are currently out of stock, plus I am struggling to find decent, comfortable replica or lookalike "ammo" boots that don't cost stupid amounts of money, so I just used my spare work boots, but other than that, I'm happy with the way it looks (Also, no idea why the last photo keeps uploading on its side... on my phone its upright and nothing I do will change its orientation)
  20. I believe there is a prize.... And your prize iiiiiiiiiss.... NOTHING! Now go forth and find more Macks fodder for us to enjoy.... =P
  21. Been buying quite a few things over the past couple of weeks... First off, I bought a replica ww1 uniform from soldier of fortune. After asking advice on this forum, I spoke to a couple of re-enactors who all say they sourced their kit from SoF, so that's where I went.. (Haven't photographed the webbing, as it just looks like a tangled mess, but I do have it 😃 ) Already fitted a Northamptonshire regiment badge to the cap.. Next I purchased some spare magazines for the Lee Enfield, as well as a red dot sight with riser rail and a patch. I also bought a dog tag striker pad... (because I am fed up with the striker pads on my pyro falling off) All bought from Socom tactical and then finally... Today I purchased a real steel BSA No.9 peephole rear sight with matching mount plate for the SMLE... I just need to make up a longer screw to go through the upper hole as well as the safety lever... (currently it just has one lower screw and the original spacer holding it in place)
  22. I will be at this event on both days. Got a few bits I want to sell, but also going to be playing. I'm planning to run my Lee enfield and my newly acquired ww1 kit, so if you see me, it would be nice if we could meet to say hello and put faces to a names
  23. Personally, I run mine with .32 valkyrie BBs, never had any issues. I have also recently upgraded mine with a poseidon barrel and maple leaf hop rubber (but am thinking of swapping it for a madbull red shark rubber)
