  1. not sure what you are referring to, but i was wondering if the small HPA bottles would fit into one of the box mags to convert it to HPA. with the issues of finding appropriate CO2 capsules for the CO2 box mag, and the significant amount of green gas the regular tank swallows, im becoming more and more convinced that HPA is way to go, but i am dubious about running a full size HPA tank and external line for the same reasons @Austeyr mentioned (snagging). its for this reason alone that i dont own more HPA guns and no longer run my Tippmann M4 as often as i used to. I am also debating whether to keep using the casette mags once i do convert it to HPA, seeing as i have 12 spare cassette mags, or do the AEG box mag conversion.
  2. Abandoned the silicone oil soak after your message. I did however try tightening the valve then stored for a week with maintenance gas and leak has stopped now... i always store my gas mags with a puff of maintenance gas in them, but make sure to purge them before use to limit any lubricants going in hop unit TBH I don't think it's that bad weight wise... Two biggest issues I have noted so far (with only 2 game days so far) for me are reloading... its a faff to unlatch the front plate and swap the mag in the drum on the field, so i did need the pair of spare drums at an outdoor field where I could use full auto.... That and I need to get a proper period correct sling for it (either genuine or repro) so I can run it as a secondary. I was running a kombat MTP sling on it last weekend at the ollie talks airsoft memorial game at C3, but had to fiddle to get it through the sling point on the stock... and may have to cut the sling off the stock at this rate Had two marshalls and several players all fawning over it..... until I mentioned the price... and all but one player were impressed with it's rate of fire on full auto.... that one player being one of three birthday boys who had to run a gauntlet.... everyone was taking turns on the firing line checking their weapons were feeding, while the gauntlet trio stood 20m down range.... and then my turn... *BRRRRRTT*... this one guy then shuffled to the far side of the gauntlet and shouted back "fuck that. Thats just evil"
  3. I got one delivered from high pressure airsoft. Took it out for a bit at RIFT Blackstone today. Got a lot of admiring glances, and a couple of guys test fired it on the range in full auto and all loved it... I did have a small drawback of only having the one mag and one gas tank that it was delivered with, and the output valve has a slight leak, so I need to look into that.... an overnight soak in silicone oil and a few puffs of maintenance gas will be first port of call I had ordered some spare mags and a spare gas tank fron SOCOM tactical to reduce faffing around to replace the mag insert on the field, but they didn't turn up in time. Not that I really burned through ammo at a semi-only site.... plus it's a bit bulky for the tight corners, so probably not an ideal CQB weapon. Aside from the slight gas leak from the tank (which i kept on top of by topping up gas in between games), it ran flawlessly, but half way through the afternoon I packed it away and switched to my MP7 that was more suited to the sites tight turns. Bugger, wish I had known... could have saved myself a bunch of cash. Oh well. At least I know I got it, and the customs monkeys weren't going to break it.... unlike my VFC M249 I imported ?
  4. TBH, I just disassemble my rigs and throw them in the washing machine. I just take the pistol holster and the grenade clamps etc off the vest. But i leave the mag pouches on, as they are velcro close pouches with no dangle bits of elastic or string to get snagged in the mechanism. Run the washing machine on 40°C on sports setting with a liquid detergent tab and some scent booster granules in the drum, fabric conditioner in the drawer. Then where possible, hang outside to dry
  5. im not sure if this has been posted elsewhere on the forum, but i thought i would add it here. i was at RIFT airsofts "shift your rifts" event yesterday (not playing, but visiting the car boot and trade stands). while i was there i met and got talking to Mike from pewhubTV. during the course of our conversation he revealed that there are a couple of games being organised in ollies memory, with all profits from the days being donated to charity. i mentioned to him about this thread, and the love the community has for ollie. as mike mentioned that he isnt on this forum, i said that i would share the game dates and locations (with his blessing) to help spread the word. the first game is on Saturday 7th June at Spartan airsoft in Bristol, the second will be at C3 tactical in Monmouth on 13th July. both can be booked via the respective booking sites. mike also informed me that if you contact him through pewhub or the "airsoft says fk cancer" FB page and ask for it, he will provide a link so people can also book on for saturday 12th July to arrive at C3 and camp overnight for a pre-game social. mike has said the social is open to everyone, and if anyone books on, the link is free to be posted for all to see. i have not yet messaged to ask for the link, as i need to get holiday approval from my boss to have the time off for the event at C3, but i fully intend on going, and i hope to meet several of you there
  6. yeah, i dont want to just rip things apart and break something by accident i might give that a try, but issue of anything under the paddles is keeping it fixed there with constant mags in and out not at home currently, so cant look, but IIRC there is only a small amount of the reciever under the top of the paddles, while the bottom part is exposed and could get caught if a mag is inserted/pulled out too quick... i will have a closer look once im home tomorrow or monday
  7. that is the issue im having. the mag release paddles (circled in red in pic, and one on each side of the RIF) are the issue, and appear to be extensions which operate a recessed mag release button (in green, only on right side), so im wondering if the paddles can be removed without affecting the mag release button... or if i will have to figure out some thing else. while i appreciate the link, given the size and location of the paddles, im not sure it will be possible to mod the file enough, but i will ask my brother who has a 3d printer
  8. hoping for a bit of tech advice from the hivemind. i have a G&G ESB-10 gas shotgun i recently bought. i want to be able to run this as a backup gun for CQB areas, but i have run into an issue. if i sling the gun on my back, then before i can run more than three steps, the mag release paddles hit on my rig and i drop the mag, as you can imagine, this is SUPER annoying, and im wondering if theres any way to remove the paddles without wrecking the rest of the mag release mechanism. looking at it, it seems possible, but i dont really want to risk taking it apart without doing research first and asking if anyone has experience modding the gun this way, or if anyone has any other suggestions for ways to "fence" the paddles to prevent dropping mags mid game
  9. My go to for energy drinks is Monster Bad Apple.
  10. I have the same adapters, but I have been unable to find a thread tap that can cut a thread while also working around the puncture pin, as I don't see any way to remove it. I would very much like to find a way to cut a 1/2"UNF thread so I can use 66g cartridges. I have a contact that can supply "expired" cartridges from overhauled lifejackets
  11. so, i have been neglecting to post updates for the past few months, so i will blast them all in one post.... i bought a laylax thread adapter to fit on my KWA beretta M93r from firesupport. (thank you @strykerles for the link). only downside is the threads are 14mm clockwise, and tracers are 14mm counter clockwise threads, but i was able to make an acetech fit through brute force XD then i bought the Umarex walther PPK and 2 spare mags from landwarrior and a Crusader silencer form airsoftworld to go with it along with it. currently trying to figure out a way to mount a tracer in the silencer without the inner barrel poking through and preventing tracer working (and without taking a hacksaw to it so i can use it without tracer at a later date if i choose) had to buy a new gun at AI500 in Flambards after i took a tumble and managed to snap my KWA Skorpion in two... so i bought the KWA Mac11 with spare mags... and it was the only gun i had with me at the event that didnt malfunction constantly.=/ i also bought a G&G ESG10 from my local surplus shop (who also sells some airsoft gear) for use at AI500, expecting more close quarters battles than i actually encountered, so it didnt get a lot of use.. plus i found the mag release is way too sensitive. whenever i had it slung on my back as a backup, it would constantly drop the mag, so it was mostly left at respawn to be used as needed, but i ended up just running the mac 11 all weekend after getting home from AI500, i bought a new reciever for the Skorpion from BZtactical, and have swapped the internals from the broken Skorpion, but now it needs fettling as i cant get the trigger to reset, and the valve knocker is sticky, so it wont fire at the moment =/ a shame, as i loved the little Skorp... evil little beastie deciding i wanted to display my guns, and consign many of the boxes to the loft, i bought a bunch of hookwall panels, brackets and hooks, which my brother and i mounted on the wall in my living room over the bank holiday weekend. need to order some different sized hooks and get another wall mount brracket as somehow had one missed out of my order, but they have been helpful when i contacted them. all bought from unishop.co.uk finally, i bought a WE Apache A5 from onlyairsoft along with a claw mount and 6 spare mags. to complete it, i bough a cheap red dot scope from Amazon and then a collapsible stock from KYairsoft which arrived today. hoping to run this tomorrow for the first time no pics at the moment as i cannot crop them down to meet the forum file size limits, and fed up of hosting the images from discord, only for them to stop working after a couple of days...
  12. I got a replacement CO2 line from VFC direct. Line burst at last AI500, so I emailed VFC with pics and they sent one for free as a warranty item. Not sure if you can get just the block on its own, but if you email VFC they should be able to assist
  13. thank you for that link, i will order one to see if it fits. thank you for those measurements. im going to try the part strykerles linked above, as if it fits, it should be more stable than the part from evike, but if it doesnt work, and the measurements of the 93 are similar to what you have provided, i will get the evike part and bite the bullet (or BB) on the customs fees
  14. im hoping someone can help me here. i have a KWA beretta 93r, and i am looking to mount a tracer unit on the barrel for CQB. i have seen this adapter by laylax designed to clamp over the end of a non threaded M9 barrel and provide a thread to attach tracer units ( https://www.evike.com/products/91866/ ) i was wondering what the outer diameter of a non threaded M9 barrel is, and whether this adapter could be used on the m93r. while i have a set of verniers and can measure the outer barrel on my m93r, i do not have an m9 (threaded or otherwise) that i can take a measurement from, and as the only place so far i have seen this adapter advertised is on evike, and i cant find any measurements online, i dont want to risk buying the adapter and paying customs duty etc for a part that wont fit, so i would appreciate an accurate measurement that i can compare to my m93r. alternatively, if anyone has a uk source fot the adapter, or an alternative option for mounting a tracer (other than cutting threads into the m93 barrel) i would be open to suggestions. thank you in advance for any assistance you could provide
  15. Basically a moscart launcher with a tracer unit on it Wish file size limits were greater, then I could send a clip or two from my gopro
  16. Bought a few things the past couple of months, but been neglecting to post them here... Back in November, I bought an acetech volcano and a trio of acehive moscarts with spawner speed loader... then didn't get a chance to play until last weekend... got a few good kills and a lot of "what the fuck was that?!" December just had some boring restock orders... bbs and gas Then last month I spent some of my Christmas money on a Begadi M1 mine and motion sensor unit, along with some spares in case it gets damaged in use (but having got my hands in it physically, I'm not so sure that's actually going to happen) Finally this week from land warrior, I bought some triple mp5 mag pouches, intending to use them for my kriss vector mags, but found they are too small... fortunately I'm planning on getting an MP5 down the line, so they won't be wasted. Also bought a laylax recoil adjuster for the GBB vector, but last weekend I found the gun was misfeeding, so I need to sort that first before I begin modding it
  17. Didn't I see somewhere that this citadel site is only going to be one or two small buildings off to the side of the site? I was at citadel for the AI500 and we had the entire site, but we were told it would be closing down to become a data farm.... or has that changed? But if they have the whole site, i would love to play there again with slightly lower numbers... and a cap on pyro-per-respawn... but may be a bit far for me
  18. Ordered a pair of those adapters, so hopefully I can make use of them, even if I can only use one, it will be better than jaffa taping around the mag to hold the CO2 in place. Also contacted VFC, and they are going to send a replacement hose for free, so that should be on the way this week along with the box mag mount and screws I have ordered as well
  19. Can't really add much more to this. I had the hose on my CO2 box mag fail, but I contacted VFC and they are shipping a replacement hose to me One possible solution to the cool down problem with the green gas tank is to get some small, single use hand warmers and place one or two around the tank to help heat it up.
  20. Hmmm.. I might order a set myself. And if the puncture pin can be removed, It might be worth seeing if I can retap the threads for the larger cartridges
  21. i have one too. very handy, and it also works with my electric speed loader, though trying to balance the mags on top can be a bit fiddly i am also in contact with VFC to arrange a replacement for the CO2 line that ruptured at AI500 as well as replacement screws for the box mag mount plate as one has gone missing, so hopefully the beast will be back in action soon. also need to try and figure out a way of adapting the threads in the block to accept 1/2"UNF threaded cartridges like lifejacket 66g, rather than the M16x1.5 threaded 88g, or the unobtanium and F*%$£"G expensive (in the UK) 74g cartridges that VFC designed the box mag for and are easier to get in asia.
  22. i may need to add it to my list of sites to visit... before it shuts down again
  23. i thought that site shut down? or am i thinking of a different airsoft site/ tunnel complex?
  24. good morning hive mind. looking for a little bit of help with my S&T M320 launcher. i have noticed over the past few months that one side of the ambidextrous safety lever (left side) has been getting loose and struggling to release the safety and at the AI500 last weekend this has now become completely detached and is moving freely independant on the safety lever on the right side, which does still seem to operate the safety.... for now . i have also noticed that the plunger does not seem to be moving very far when the trigger is pulled and it is now struggling to fire moscarts or my TAG shells reliably. has anyone here either taken one of these launchers apart, or can point me to a tutorial video or page to see how much of a ballache it will be to get into the trigger mechanism to see whats broken and what i can do to repair it? thanks in advance
  25. I will try repairing this line again as I still have plenty of slack left in the line, but I will also be contacting VFC to see if I can order a spare line in case this one blows again. To run it on 88g, I just tape around the box to hold everything inside. Not ideal, but I'm talking to a friend of mine to see if it's possible to make an adapter to use the smaller 66g cartridges, bit the main concern is sealing the cartridges while also allowing the pin to pierce them I also like it on CO2, when it works, and agree with you regarding the noise and range being awesome. I ran it at a previous game when I first got the CO2 box, and had one of the enemy players come up to me in the safezone and comment that the noise of the 249 firing was enough to get them to keep their heads down
