  1. Where did you get it made? How much did it cost? And did you have to make a minimum order or just the one patch?
  2. glad the gun arrived safely for you alphabear 😃 and yes, that full auto really is insane... i definately want to be able to get out playing again, as i have just bought my black AAP-01 a stock and AW drum mag.... need to get some rounds through its barrel in anger =P BTW... how many of you guys got a manual with your AAP? i didnt get one with either my black pistol (that came from WGC shop) or the FDE one that now belongs to @AlphaBear that came from onlyairsoft in stevenage
  3. i think i know what you mean... 😉 i will give their site a look, but i wont be buying parts just yet
  4. i have one, but havent had a chance to field the gun due to lockdowns... ok, so which one would be best to improve accuracy and rang on an AAP-01, nd what hop rubber would work best with it? (thinking of adding to a list of parts i want/need to buy for the time when the gun breaks or requires a new barrel... whichever comes first)
  5. *note to self* DM alphabear when the advert is posted... =P
  6. what the hell are the I-key and H plates everyone is talking about? never heard of them before... as for what i am running in my AAP.... both are totally stock internally, but my black one has has the rail sets and folding stock added to it. will need some money at the end of this month to put my car through its MOT, so i may be putting the tan one up for sale over the weekend (never even been fired, let alone taken to a game) now that you mention it.... *looks again* no, you arent the only one well, im happy with my Glock 26C thats WE... and im also ordering a pair of black lagoon beretta m92s as well... cant say i have ever really had issues with the glock
  7. i repeat my previous comment.... XD and regarding the AW drum mag.... do you really want to know? =P
  8. does this count? i just made a new thread for the charlton discussion to continue in, without clogging up this channel any more =P edit: apologies everyone, that was my poor attempt at humor late at night while half asleep
  9. inviting indeed. though looking at more pics of the real steel gun, it looks like there is a simple lug on the bolt that runs in a groove of the charging handle mechanism, so it may be a bit easier to make a rotating bolt.. but again, until i have a base gun to work with, its rather immaterial... talking of materials, what materials are GBB bolts usually made of? was wondering if it would be possible to contact an engineer or gunsmith to have a lug welded on, or if its fairly simple to get a custom bolt made with a lug already built in.. EDIT perhaps it would be better to set up a seperate chat to discuss the charlton, to save clogging up the "what have you built" thread
  10. ah.... im with you now. TBH im not too fussed if the bolt doesnt rotate, im more focussed on the bolt blowing back and returning.. and not blowing back into my face XD once i get into the project fully, and i have a base gun, i can try and work out wether i can make the rotating bolt, or just have to stick to a straight gbb
  11. what do you mean by that adolf? not going to lie, but i dont have a great deal of knowledge when it comes to the finer points of GBB mechanisms lol, at first glance when scrolling past, i thought they were medicine boxes....
  12. ask and you shall recieve @AlphaBear i got an armourer works mag of my own, and took a video of me mag dumping it into a target... filmed using an ICU camera mounted on the top rail of the AAP, then i had to use an online video compression program to get it below the 89mb file limit for the website, hence the watermark i can confirm that a single gas fill is insufficient to empty the whole mag... may need three fills to do a whole mag... luckily i can carry cans of gas in my pouches on site, so refills arent an issue for me in the field/back at respawn icu0018_e0D0XNgj.avi
  13. if you are referring to the rotating bolt on the real steel gun, then i was probablt going to make it as a solid piece that only LOOKS as though it functions as a rotating bolt. i was hoping to get away with running it as an open bolt, similar to the northeast sten. to run GBB AK mags... or try and either route a gas feed from a CO2 canister in the stock (like a tippmann omega) or an HPA line through the grip and use AEG hi caps. but until i get my hands on a base gun, i wont know what modification options i will have at my disposal and im sure it would be a bit of a nasty bastard to run, but it would definately be something unique and different on the fields =P
  14. it is ugly, and its definately not my finest work... but its functional enough.... but as said above, it is still a work in progress i intend to spend a LOT of time and care in designing and building the charlton though... but before i can begin esigning it, i need to figure out what gun im going to use as a base, and then take some detailed measurements of the internals to scale the externals appropriately.
  15. I did knock together a bb trap target for my back garden, so i can do some shooting during lockdown to relieve a bit of boredom... I know it doesnt look like much, it was quickly knocked together from some cheap timber so that if required i can quickly pull it apart and store it in pieces between my shed and fence without faffing around with complex fastenings etc... plus the simple construction allows me to make quick repairs if needed.... A bit of wire across the opening allows me to hang paper targets, or i can put knock-down targets inside the trap I am adding more padding inside the target though, as i did get a couple of ricochets during test shots, so until i have the appropriate materials to hand i wont be using it again. Its a Charlton rifle, made by the australian and new zealand armies in early ww2 due to issues getting brens from britain, and a huge surplus of lee enfield rifles from ww1...
  16. At some point i would also like to see about making my own airsoft gun, but i need more money behind me first, as it would require a lot of work. The gun i want to make would probably have to be a GBB as the (rare) real steel is mostly exposed workings due to it being a conversion from a bolt action rifle into a LMG... (so no place to hide a gearbox and motor) Is there any requirement to get a home made GBB proofed (or a similar test) before it can be used on fields?
  17. More tales of woe due to the fuck up that is the new trade "deal"... Not airsoft, but still tales of woe... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-55734277 Its bloody ridiculous that you cant get any idea of what charges may be until after you have ordered, and the goods have arrived in the UK. Who is it a deal for? Because its certainly not us...
  18. well, parcel arrived from atlanta, and contents are shown in the second pic... armourer works drum mag, various "weapons grade waifu" patches and stickers, MAXX hop unit with built in tracer and an elite force pull out dead rag. i also bought some cans of red and green gas from teamgreen airsoft, as well as a sling for my new tippmann (not pictured as is on the gun) and a collapsible BB pouch finally i bought a holographic sight from @Anotsu in the classifieds for my tippmann, and a set of M-Lok adapter rails from ebay so i can attach my m203 to the tippmann ( https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Airsoft-Aluminium-20mm-M-LOK-Rail-in-5-7-9-11-13-Slots-Picatinny-RIS-RAS-Rail/353129960407?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&var=622350376555&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 ) and now i will be locking all my bank cards in the safe and deleting them all from paypal to prevent any further impulse purchases for the next couple of months =P
  19. here are the pics: first the missile case turned gun case: and the ammo case turned magazine case:
  20. that reminds me, i need to do something similar to make a new handle for my nuprol speedloader.. damn handle came apart second time i used it.... =/ i see the foam inserts you made for your bag, and i have done some similar things with an ex-military missile case (for my RIFs) and a large ammo case (for magazines etc). i think i posted somewhere on the forum that thats what i was planning, but i dont think i posted the final results...
  21. my thoughts exactly... almost as if they are making the rules up as they go along
  22. i know im way too late to the party for this one, but i dont often check all the threads on this forum.... from reading his comments over the last few pages, i would say that he is a butthurt, snowflake troll... too true, people now think that because someone has an opposing opinion to them, that means they are being bullied, harrassed and persecuted... they also see that the second they whip out those words, other people (mainly younger generations) will fall in behind them because "we must stand up to bullies". im not going to devolve into a massive rant here, because its not helpful to anyone, pointless in an airsoft forum, and no doubt some snowflake will try and claim that my opinions are bullying/racist/harrassing/pure evil/toxic etc etc (take your pick of any word that butthurt people throw around to try and paint themselves as delicate roses being trampled by some heathen with an airsoft gun in his hand) for the record, im 28, so i could be considered a younger generation, but i was brought up to respect other peoples opinions, that people wont necessarily agree with you, and not to cry and pout just because someone has an opposing opinion to you. also for the record.... im not racist, i hate everyone... =P =P (that was a joke, for all you snowflakes reading that last line)
  23. well, small update on my import duties tale... i ordered a bunch of stuff from airsoft atlanta that totalled approx £290. parcel got stopped by customs and i have been stung £65 of import duty... on the other hand, i ordered a bunch of non-airsoft stuff from japan, and was expecting the parcel to be stopped at customs as every single parcel from japan has been in the past, yet this time it passed straight through customs with no charges attached... goods in the parcel totalled £120 and i wasnt charged VAT etc...
