  1. 1.36J! Get 'im @Rogerborg! Also, whoever said you can make the TM MK23 better for less than a Novritsch SSX23 is mistaken. An SSX + suppressor is circa £150, a stock TM is the same. The upgraded inner barrel, bucking and TDC will likely cost you another £50 or more on top. Plus the SSX23 has a nice metal slide and fibre optic sights. I'm no Novritsch fan boy but think it's a bit silly when people pipe up about building a gun yourself for marginally less than he's selling some of his. Especially when you're talking for your son, unless you specifically want the learning experience associated with working on them.
  2. Yeah they state you shouldn't use the black plastic bit with the gen.2 frame but even with that you can see that the total size is still a lot smaller than the TM serial plate and obviously doesn't extend under front rail like the TM does. If you're up to the task, shimming underneath that little V shaped bit (which applies pressure to the safety lever), may be your best bet. I can never be bothered with this and either make do with the TM serial or purchase the Guarder rail.
  3. That's just the design. You can see the same on Firesupports website: https://www.fire-support.co.uk/product/guarder-enhanced-recoil-spring-guide-for-marui-glk-g17g18c
  4. I always experience this issue when using a Guarder serial plate with a TM front rail. From memory (I've got one on order) the underside shape of the Guarder version makes up for the gap caused by the smaller serial tag, effectively shimming everything and applying more pressure to the little arm bit under the takedown lever. I know it's not ideal but you may well find that the takedown lever issue is fixed by using the TM serial plate.
  5. Which serial/safety plate are you using? (ie the TM or one which came with the frame)
  6. Thanks for that. I'm not the biggest fan of fettling, so will always try to get parts which marry-up whenever possible. I've bought everything on Hi-Capa Hub and after struggling with a sticky nozzle yesterday, placed another order for an Edge BBU and AIP nozzle (as they state the AIP works "flawlessly" with Edge BBU's). Overall I'm happy with the basic add-ons so far and will no-doubt continue changing parts down the line. Although for the time being I'm actually thinking to just use the TM Gold Match outer barrel. The slide runs very smoothly. I guess it'll wear out quicker being plastic on metal but then worse case scenario I can just buy a metal outer then. Do you have any preference on short stroke buffers? The JL Progression set look quite interesting. Pic for reference... obviously nothing on any of your builds but I like it for a first step!

You mention cosmetic upgrades. Do you do performance ones as well? Looking through your list, 3/5 of the services you list pertain to changing an inner barrel or hop rubber.
  8. The Detonics is a fine compact pistol but IMO in terms of looks and finish of the materials (I love the Hogue style grips and contrast of texture on top of the slide), the V10 is in a league of it's own. It's fairly low powered at around 230 - 240fps (guess that doesn't bother you) but super snappy and surprisingly gas efficient. If you wanted to go all out, Guarder have made a full steel kit for the low-low price of £635! https://www.rainbow8.com/collections/marui-v10-custom-parts/products/stainless-cnc-kits-for-marui-v10-sliver
  9. Actually it's been scientifically proven that if a player is wearing a full grey tracksuit, their hood is up and the strings are pulled tight, there's a 100% chance they're not going to call their hits.
  10. Can we stereotype and say most problems are caused by a certain type of player or you feel it's very much independent on the individual?
  11. I've ventured in the the world of Hi-Capa builds, purchasing a AM slide & 5KU outer barrel for starters. However in my parts box I also have a Guarder lightweight BBU and nozzle. Just thinking though, the stock Gold Match uses the 15mm cylinder. Does that make these Guarder parts somewhat incompatible or a step backwards?
  12. Their AEG's are (or at least were pre-Brexit) decent value for money but let's not get carried away thinking this will remotely be in the same realm as a TM GBBR.

This high quality CNC aluminium slide was purchased brand new and is in excellent condition overall. However it arrived with the section for the dummy ejector misshapen. I tried to file it to fit and possibly took too much material. Should still function OK (the slides work without a dummy ejector being fitted). I'm not sure how well a dummy ejector would actually fit in the current section though, so priced accordingly. Stated price includes PayPal fees and tracked courier. For a gun which came about somewhat accidentally it's turned-out very nice indeed. Snappy, glass efficient and realistic. It started with me deciding to put a Guarder kit on my stock and near new TM G19. However I purchased so many Guarder parts, I ended up building a second one (the one I'm keeping) from scratch. Overall it's in very good condition, there are rubbing marks etc present on the slide and barrel as well a possibly in other areas, as you would get within thirty minutes of using this kind of metal kit. If anything they just help make it look more authentic, as supposed to a shiny toy. Base Gun - £150 Guarder Aluminium Slide - £105 Guarder Steel Outer Barrel - £55 Guarder Nozzle (incl' piston head and valve kit) - £25 Guarder Guarder Steel Hop Rail Block - £10 Guarder Front Night Sight - £6.50 CowCow Shortstroke Recoil Spring & Rod - £23.50 Guarder G17 Magazine - £40 Guarder Steel Dummy Ejector - £10 Total = £425 You may have noticed a Guarder Frame is missing from the above. These can of course be purchased elsewhere separately. I just don't have one. Also yes the magazine is Glock 17 length but it works perfectly in this gun, just protrudes a bit. However it does hold more rounds than the 19 mag. If required I can include the stock slide, outer barrel and dummy ejector. Stated price includes PayPal fees and tracked courier. Looking at possibly moving on another one from my collection which has only seen light plinking use in the few months I've owned it. Yes you can get the Army R609 for around £120 new here but IMO, it just doesn't look right blank. With the engraved trademarks it's such a beautiful piece and I'm equally impressed with how it's performed for me, being both gas efficient and shooting at a power which is a nice 10% or so bump up from a lot of other pistols. I replaced the stock mag release as the one it came with was made from a very low quality metal. Stated price includes PayPal fees and tracked courier. 16. On Guarder frames that screw hole usually has a metal (brass?) insert. So shouldn't be any issues there.
  17. From memory it's the slide stop and chassis, should be about the same diameter as the existing one.
  18. It's only really 27 sites though, much better! 😃
  19. @Sneaky mentioned the CYMA CM.098. It's a good call, you'd ideally want to handle and SR25 style gun first though as they can be too heavy for some to run for a long time. I remember watching this video and being impressed with what it could do, near stock.
  20. But the chances are if you're "new to the sport", you're not going to be able to make your gun better by opening it up.
  21. Running a DMR much like a Bolt Action isn't cheap. I love mine but it was a £325 gun (which has since gone up in price), that I sent to Negative Airsoft and paid him about another £300 to make it top notch. Heavyweight BB prices will make your eyes water too. Sure it's fun to justify a scope but I still get hit as much as I would running a regular rifle. Who actually uses a pistol full-auto? (I mean apart from Novritsch). At the only distance I've ever tried to get some serious use out of mine, it'd be frowned upon and possibly even against the rules to shoot full-auto. Plus you need to consider mag capacity, cooldown issues (especially on metal slide guns) and the fact that accuracy tends to go to crap too. Despite the plastic, TM's don't break easier than others. In fact it's far more common to find bits missing or not working on other brands. Their QC is second to none. I'm not trying to put you off, just manage your expectations.
  22. Don't you have to first renew adverts to edit them? I guess that'd be fine for anything current, just not the old stuff.
