  1. Been hearing the term "professional airsofter" too much recently. There's no such thing.

My main income for the past 14 years has been Airsoft . It pays all my bills and pays for my holidays . And no I'm most certainly not a youtuber lol. No playing Airsoft isn't the everyday task of my job now although that used to be a larger portion of it once . It is however still a part of my job to attend events as a player . Would I consider it a profession? Probably not but it does fulfill the criteria but to me it's just work and has been for so long that there is nothing special to it now

Im with @Cr0-Magnon here, unless you are sponsored or paid to play as a full time airsofter its not a profession, the definitions make sense but being a decent footballer doesnt make you a professional, playing for a team full time does. All non league players have a 'profession' outside of football and want to become a professional baller so its a bit ambiguous.

Airsoft youtubers are that, they are professional youtubers/content makers not professional players, hell most players would argue the top youtubers dont really play in the spirit thats intended with the game but thats a whole different convo lol.

I would be interested to hear what 1st commando does/did. I get being involved in airsoft could be a profession but again being a professional airsoft "player", nah... unless someone can convince me otherwise.

The money for professional boxers, footballers, tennis players etc comes from the audience whether through ticket sales or via TV views/sales.

Same with YT airsofters?  No ones paid to play sport, act etc in private.

  2. My takeaway from that article, is that being a child is actually a "defence" for owning a RIF.
  3. Internal wear can't be seen and amateur photos being viewed on a mobile etc. Besides we're not really debating whether truthfully describing an items history is a bad thing? Obviously if it's BS, that's a whole different kettle of fish.
  4. Some people have 20+ guns and skirmish maybe once a month. It's not difficult to see how that impulse purchase could be moved on before it's brought into rotation. I get that you're being humorous but this has come up before, so I'm genuinely curious. How would one distinguish between something which has just been stored in a case/its box for a few months and an item which has been dragged through the woods every weekend for the last five years?
  5. Southcoast CQB would likely only take you 2hrs to get there. It's a nice drive at 6am.
  6. True, that also applies to non-regular such as stag do parties. However they would likely be using rentals, which is eliminates to concern of overpowered guns. On occasion I've been tempted to give Marshalling a go but then I remember you'd have to actually offer some level of customer service to airsofters.
  7. I don't get it, how can you even feel like you're "winning" at something if you're not playing by the same rules as everyone else. Regulars should be held to a higher standard if anything, because they can't use ignorance as an excuse.
  8. One of my guilty pleasures is reading the lowest Google reviews for various venues and shops (hey, it beats the Daily Mail!), including airsoft. One of the reoccurring complaints for skirmish sites, is that the regular players received preferential treatment. Ranging from all being put on the same team, so they can use rentals and other new players as target practice, to accusations that they weren't even chronoed and were subsequently probably using hot guns. Has anyone here actually experienced that, or is it just a case of new players being disappointed (possibly due to Youtube videos etc)?
  9. The company name certainly seems to fit my requirements!
  10. Does anyone know of a decent company I can send a GBBP to, in order to engrave some trademarks?
  11. Ahhh, I see you went to the Twitter school of debate, where you resort to childish misdirection and passive aggressive insults, in the absence of a legitimate refutation.
  12. Only old and/or boring people don't want to be around intoxicated people, who are operating equipment which can cause life altering injuries? Does that sound like a strong stance to you?
  13. I'm pretty sure when I recently purchased a TM G17 Gen.3, it came with an ambi mag. Seems like all the ones they're making are. Either way, I'm not sure how it's causing the issue with dropping out.
  14. Glad you've got it sorted. That's strange about the mags, I always assumed the only difference between the G17 & G22 mags were markings and baseplate.
  15. Variety is the spice of life n' all that but yeah love a classic movie gun. This slide is made to take RS sights, so now I'm thinking of options to finish it off nicely.
  16. Edit: Just Googled it! Your memory is obviously far superior to mine, as I watched Die Hard 2 not so long ago. Although, I'd need to file-off the 1 from seventeen for it to be accurate!
  17. How did you get on with this? You inspired me to swap the frame on my Gen.3 (Which also has a Guarder slide and barrel). I'm glad I did, this is definitely the more the version I remember in movies from my childhood.
  18. I have the P-09 and it's not. Does it not have a breakdown in the instruction manual? May just be a case of disassembling to have a look.
  19. Is it the standard type? My go to is the Flamingo 50 degree.
  20. I'm looking forward to putting these on a trademarked silver WE M92F.
  21. Blue two-tone WE P226 from JustBBGuns in December 2015! I then just plinked in my garden until the second half of 2016, when I thought it'd be fun to be able to use it against other people (in an insured and consenting game format of course). Booked my first skirmish at my local site and loved the concept but hated the rental guns, so sorted UKARA ASAP and bought a G&G Predator. Oh and have long since sold both, spending waayyyy too much money to achieve very little difference in performance.
  22. Thanks for the tip. I've built quite a few Glocks and now venturing in to this. I keep telling myself it's going to be a very basic build, yet somehow it keeps evolving.
  23. Installed the Edge BBU, AIP nozzle and AIP 140% nozzle spring. That solved the sticky nozzle issue. It's now very smooth and gas efficient (I just mag dumped three lots of BB's on one gas charge and there was zero venting and very little difference in snappiness). A new issue is that the TM rear sight is wobbly, no matter how much tighten it. Any ideas or I should pick up an aftermarket one?
  24. Unless you get the SSX23 and modular suppressor...
