  1. Glad you've got it sorted. That's strange about the mags, I always assumed the only difference between the G17 & G22 mags were markings and baseplate.
  2. Variety is the spice of life n' all that but yeah love a classic movie gun. This slide is made to take RS sights, so now I'm thinking of options to finish it off nicely.
  3. Edit: Just Googled it! Your memory is obviously far superior to mine, as I watched Die Hard 2 not so long ago. Although, I'd need to file-off the 1 from seventeen for it to be accurate!
  4. How did you get on with this? You inspired me to swap the frame on my Gen.3 (Which also has a Guarder slide and barrel). I'm glad I did, this is definitely the more the version I remember in movies from my childhood.
  5. I have the P-09 and it's not. Does it not have a breakdown in the instruction manual? May just be a case of disassembling to have a look.
  6. Is it the standard type? My go to is the Flamingo 50 degree.
  7. I'm looking forward to putting these on a trademarked silver WE M92F.
  8. Blue two-tone WE P226 from JustBBGuns in December 2015! I then just plinked in my garden until the second half of 2016, when I thought it'd be fun to be able to use it against other people (in an insured and consenting game format of course). Booked my first skirmish at my local site and loved the concept but hated the rental guns, so sorted UKARA ASAP and bought a G&G Predator. Oh and have long since sold both, spending waayyyy too much money to achieve very little difference in performance.
  9. Thanks for the tip. I've built quite a few Glocks and now venturing in to this. I keep telling myself it's going to be a very basic build, yet somehow it keeps evolving.
  10. Installed the Edge BBU, AIP nozzle and AIP 140% nozzle spring. That solved the sticky nozzle issue. It's now very smooth and gas efficient (I just mag dumped three lots of BB's on one gas charge and there was zero venting and very little difference in snappiness). A new issue is that the TM rear sight is wobbly, no matter how much tighten it. Any ideas or I should pick up an aftermarket one?
  11. Unless you get the SSX23 and modular suppressor...
  12. 1.36J! Get 'im @Rogerborg! Also, whoever said you can make the TM MK23 better for less than a Novritsch SSX23 is mistaken. An SSX + suppressor is circa £150, a stock TM is the same. The upgraded inner barrel, bucking and TDC will likely cost you another £50 or more on top. Plus the SSX23 has a nice metal slide and fibre optic sights. I'm no Novritsch fan boy but think it's a bit silly when people pipe up about building a gun yourself for marginally less than he's selling some of his. Especially when you're talking for your son, unless you specifically want the learning experience associated with working on them.
  13. Yeah they state you shouldn't use the black plastic bit with the gen.2 frame but even with that you can see that the total size is still a lot smaller than the TM serial plate and obviously doesn't extend under front rail like the TM does. If you're up to the task, shimming underneath that little V shaped bit (which applies pressure to the safety lever), may be your best bet. I can never be bothered with this and either make do with the TM serial or purchase the Guarder rail.
  14. That's just the design. You can see the same on Firesupports website: https://www.fire-support.co.uk/product/guarder-enhanced-recoil-spring-guide-for-marui-glk-g17g18c
  15. I always experience this issue when using a Guarder serial plate with a TM front rail. From memory (I've got one on order) the underside shape of the Guarder version makes up for the gap caused by the smaller serial tag, effectively shimming everything and applying more pressure to the little arm bit under the takedown lever. I know it's not ideal but you may well find that the takedown lever issue is fixed by using the TM serial plate.
  16. Which serial/safety plate are you using? (ie the TM or one which came with the frame)
  17. Thanks for that. I'm not the biggest fan of fettling, so will always try to get parts which marry-up whenever possible. I've bought everything on Hi-Capa Hub and after struggling with a sticky nozzle yesterday, placed another order for an Edge BBU and AIP nozzle (as they state the AIP works "flawlessly" with Edge BBU's). Overall I'm happy with the basic add-ons so far and will no-doubt continue changing parts down the line. Although for the time being I'm actually thinking to just use the TM Gold Match outer barrel. The slide runs very smoothly. I guess it'll wear out quicker being plastic on metal but then worse case scenario I can just buy a metal outer then. Do you have any preference on short stroke buffers? The JL Progression set look quite interesting. Pic for reference... obviously nothing on any of your builds but I like it for a first step!
  18. You mention cosmetic upgrades. Do you do performance ones as well? Looking through your list, 3/5 of the services you list pertain to changing an inner barrel or hop rubber.
  19. The Detonics is a fine compact pistol but IMO in terms of looks and finish of the materials (I love the Hogue style grips and contrast of texture on top of the slide), the V10 is in a league of it's own. It's fairly low powered at around 230 - 240fps (guess that doesn't bother you) but super snappy and surprisingly gas efficient. If you wanted to go all out, Guarder have made a full steel kit for the low-low price of £635! https://www.rainbow8.com/collections/marui-v10-custom-parts/products/stainless-cnc-kits-for-marui-v10-sliver
  20. Actually it's been scientifically proven that if a player is wearing a full grey tracksuit, their hood is up and the strings are pulled tight, there's a 100% chance they're not going to call their hits.
  21. Can we stereotype and say most problems are caused by a certain type of player or you feel it's very much independent on the individual?
  22. I've ventured in the the world of Hi-Capa builds, purchasing a AM slide & 5KU outer barrel for starters. However in my parts box I also have a Guarder lightweight BBU and nozzle. Just thinking though, the stock Gold Match uses the 15mm cylinder. Does that make these Guarder parts somewhat incompatible or a step backwards?
  23. Their AEG's are (or at least were pre-Brexit) decent value for money but let's not get carried away thinking this will remotely be in the same realm as a TM GBBR.
