  1. i mean surely that's an easy question to answer
  2. don't get that as much as the old "he's not taking his hits" accusation from people that assume that because you can send .48's over to hit them, that their .2's will be able to reply.....
  3. i did quite enjoy borrowing a mates mosin and running around with just that and a speedloader. none of my own guns are stock admittedly....
  4. keep the stock gears, fit a gate warfet and set up precocking. will deal with the trigger response nicely. losing some energy with the hop on is totally normal, how much depends on the style of hop, for example a g&g green bucking is going to lose more energy hopping a .3g than a maple leaf macaron.
  5. not to mention the well served budget ak market, and i'd argue when things get to that stage the ak platform is much easier to work on than an ar variant. also that picture is an absolutely perfect example of not needing camo or webbing kit.
  6. as much as we might have sympathy for the shops, maybe we should be hassling them about all this, if only to make them see how bad the problem is and maybe switch couriers?
  7. can confirm, a good set of boots is an absolute must, damp or aching feet will absolutely ruin your game day. yep, you want to be sure of your eyepro, personally i'm a bolle fan but other brands are available. i'd say if you're going to skimp on anything skimp here, camo does help outdoors (caveat being if you know how to sneak properly), but you absolutely can (and plenty do) just run regular clothes, something weather appropriate, long sleeves (until you get the hang of how much bb's can sting and if you wanna run bare arms) and reasonably tough (ie it's not going to get pulled apart by brambles, kneeling etc). however what you do want is gloves and something to cover your ears, both places that can sting and especially fingernails...... as above your choices are 2-tone or serving your time. i'd recommend going the time served route, not only do you skip the 2-tone thing but it'll also allow you some time playing, make sure the hobby is for you, and give you a chance to see the variation of pews out there giving you a flavour of what style of gat you fancy going for as a first purchase (eg do you prefer an ak, or an m4, or something else). ordinarily i'd point out airsofters are generally more than happy to show off their kit if you ask politely, but COVID might make that kind of thing a bit trickier for the forseeable. once you've done that, do a bit of window shopping online, if you find something you like the look of come back and ask before buying, if only to be sure there isn't a better deal or similar gun from a more reputable manufacturer etc. personally, whilst there can be some cracking deals second hand, i'd advise new for a starter. it's the sad truth that secondhand gats run the very real risk of something wrong internally, either from wear or more normally tinkering gone wrong, whilst a new gun isn't guaranteed to be flawless either at least you get the "just send it back to the shop" card to play. agreed here is where the secondhand market is a good shout. you don't need to jump into covering yourself with kit, it is entirely possible to play just fine with a spare hicap and a bag of bb's stuffed in a pocket, indeed it can be quite fun to run around super lightweight every now and then. it's a very easy trap to fall in to is loading yourself up with a bunch of unnessecary weight, carrying gear you never use in-game. although once you reach this point it becomes a lot of personal preference.
  8. think it's a standard ar selector, the 2-finger trigger is so you can semi-spam faster than most guns do in auto but it's fine for cqb because it's "single shot only"
  9. i think the idea is low bore offset, with no recoil you can have the stock angled and get your face right behind the reciever and aim it basically like a shotgun with no sights.
  10. correct, this is g&g's speedsoft gun. it's the airsoft version of playing Fortnite competitively......
  11. can't say exactly, i just remember it's one of those "it's still not full!?" thoughts that came to mind. you will know when it's full though, it's not subtle.
  12. fair enough, although i can still change my point to simply be a cornish summer versus scottish winter it can take a surprising amount of time from a completely empty mag, but it is supposed to spew gas (not liquid) straight from the start of the fill so you get as much liquid in there as possible.
  13. ahh, hang on. that's a marui thing, the mag is meant to spew gas. you fill it until it starts spewing liquid which is how you know it's full. it can take a while for an empty mag but i think the idea is you can top up easier without over-filling. pretty nifty system, only other company i've seen use it was the 40-mike had the same type of valve.
  14. tbh, and others may disagree, but if it's not spewing gas everywhere when cycling then frankly i'd be happy enough with that kind of performance. for me at least any gun that can mag dump its way through the RS equivalent of bb's (so for a 1911 that's 7 rather than however many the mag holds) outside of winter is good enough gas effeciency.....
  15. i really hope he didn't get charged that given the titan comes with deans fitted as standard..... £50 for that lot on ak2m4, leaves some schmeckles for a warfet if you want precocking for better trigger response, not much point in a titan for a semi only build. gotta feel for the poor fella if he's reading all this, only thing i can think can make it up is the cerakote, but then i have no experience with how much that sort of thing costs.
  16. you're getting 2 full mags from 1 fill and this is a problem? edit: also be wary of reviews, the guy writing it might have done so in the middle of an arizona summer, which isn't a fair comparison to a british spring.
  17. now now chaps we all know there are rules. you must appoint your seconds and organise a date before engaging in handbags at 20 paces
  18. in the message top-right there's 3 dots, same as are on regular forum posts that pop up a menu with a button to report to the admin. up here ^
  19. so am i reading this right: you built it yourself, there was presumably a wiring short, causing a fire and this is the gearboxes fault?
