On the topic of MoA I managed to get a few details from someone who is there and has been talking to the VFC reps. Current thinking is a release sometime around July (I have little faith in that bit unfortunately) the price has also been aimed at 19800 TWD which is around £530 plus tax at current exchange rates. Materials wise it sounds like it's mostly steel, including the bolt however, interestingly they've chosen not to apply the full trademarks to keep costs down. All in all it sounds fairly promising and definitely a rif that I'll be trying to get my hands on when they do come out 😏

Crazy_Crystal replied to Rogerborg's topic in Single Action Guns
Yeah, It definitely is not at all light tbf and also not at all small either but then It is based upon a .50 cal. Just another option really. sadly i like niche and awkward guns it turns out 😂 -
Best delivered-to-door 2.32J spring sniper for non poors?
Crazy_Crystal replied to Rogerborg's topic in Single Action Guns
I've heard that the Silverback HTI has a really nice bolt pull due to the stupidly large cylinder volume. It's certainly one of those rifles that i'd really like to own one day and it seems to perform pretty well by all accounts. -
I know they mentioned Q3 last year. so I suspect they found another issue or something came up in production. At least it proves that they haven't given up on it. I'm still really hoping it arrives soon though. would be even nicer to have one in wood or even better an L1A1, but I'd take any FAL/SLR at this point...

And in other news the UK Defence Journal have been very busy...

Since it's April fools Day, I thought I'd make a thread so we can share whatever silliness happens. Our first submission is from AirTac, I mean *geltac* (No affiliation here) "Introducing GELTAC. At Airtac, our finger is firmly on the pulse of modern combat simulation games. Its no secret that Airsoft as a *sport* is dying, and we truly believe the growing move towards gel ball is something we must all embrace. We've decided to scrap our BFG, Hi-Capa split mag, and all other HPA related projects going forward, in order to focus on creating innovative and synergic gel ball products. I would encourage all Airsoft sites to allow gel-blasters at regular events, as part of a transition to gel-only gameplay. I look forward to what the future holds. Stay Jelly, James "

Finally got myself some AOR2. A US surplus field shirt and more interestingly a beyond clothing set of prototype trousers that were made for NSWDG at some point, really nice bits of kit that go for very low prices for some reason. 😎 -

Tokyo Marui Saiga 12 GBBR Tri Shot Shotty Announced.
Crazy_Crystal replied to Asomodai's topic in Latest News
I can confirm now that it's definitely TM timing now....so probably some time this decade if we're lucky? I was also hoping for a quick release, but i'm guessing that they have been selling out of stuff quicker than they forecast and they have a few development tweaks they're having to make with the G19/G17 which will be tying up resources too. plus materials shortages is definitely not helping anything either. -
Tbh I'm of the opinion that unless they're shot before the pyro is struck then it's much the same as two people shooting each other at the same time... I.e both people should probably take their hit. We are talking about a window of around a second between striking the pyro and throwing it which isn't actually that long to make a decision. Obviously it's down to site rules and if you can make it safe again then you probably should as well, if only for the sake of sportsmanship. At the end of the day you do need to get rid of the explody thing or it's gonna hurt.

Definitely this... it really does make such a difference and are a relatively cheap thing that makes your life more comfortable. even decent quality merino wool socks can be had very affordably from places like mountain warehouse etc. As far as boots go i love my salomon's but mine are nearly a decade old and the newer stuff sounds like its not made quite as well. whatever you do it's 100% worth getting to a shop and trying some one...it's the two things in airsoft not worth saving money on (The other of course is eyepro)

This has been fairly lightly used, I'm only selling as I've lost too much weight for it to fit me properly. Price is £80 including PP fees and shipping inside the UK.£80

Yeah they are, although most retailers get them straight from HK for the most part (patrol base excepted I think.) As for whether the ASG is OEMd by DE... I guess we'll have to wait and see. I couldn't tell you either way. Just the thought of two apc556s licenced at the same time is a bit unusual. Last time we had that was the WE & VFC G3s...
-
I believe that ASG will be importing them soon... or at least they are importing some form of APC556 based on their recent press release. This is from their Facebook page.

Night Vision passive aiming optics?
Crazy_Crystal replied to Fooz_The_Hostig's topic in General Help
The best option I've found for repro's are the holy warrior Airsoft XPS or 553 Alternatively take a look at the holosun or vortex optics for cheaper real steel warranty with NV capabilities. (Having a dedicated NV mode is a must or you may damage the tube. Some tubes have a better autogating system than others.) -
Yep, I own and play with the VFC Mk11 Mod0. They're really nice rifles, solidly built and operate pretty nicely... Very loud with a huge kick too. With an upgraded hop rubber and inner barrel the range is actually very impressive and consistency is pretty good too certainly one of their better designs and quite usable as a marksman's rifle although it's not as Lazer like as a highly tuned AEG or bolt sniper rifle but then that's not why you're playing with one. As to other gbbr brands, sadly it's unlikely to happen. It's also worth noting that I have the original limited edition run that had the forged reciever and internals which may or may not make a difference. It's hard to say for certain.

The 'What have you just bought' Thread
Crazy_Crystal replied to Cameron364's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
They fit really nicely... It's much closer to real dimensions than my old we G17 gen4. It also fits the SF x300 much better than the TMC repro and the cordura outer skin is much better stuck down but that's just my opinion and I'll need a year or two of further use to back that up. One thing is that you do have to remove half of the barrel locator pin inside the safariland due to having an inner barrel. But that's a 1 minute job with a hacksaw/sharp Stanley knife and really easy to do. -

Probably more a case of its normal to take photos on your phone and post from there... Just a guess anyway. In other news finally got my first TM pistol... A G19 Gen4 which arrived today -
Spoken like a true airsoft connoisseur, in fairness that MI scope mount is definitely driving me towards a cyma SVD whenever a real wood one comes in stock in the UK again.
-
Yeah that sounds about right, along with the chinese military exercises that have been disrupting shipping in the area which probably don't help either.
-
I wonder what's causing the small batch sizes? Component shortages, or underestimating the initial popularity? definitely a shame either way though.
-
I'm sorry it came to that. Sadly it seems to be the way with him at the moment, but hopefully H2R4K will get some in soon.

There is also the Midwest industries mount which may work. You can get one for cheap off AliExpress and they're pretty well made.
