  1. Chest rigs are a bit less common these days but still used occasionally for specific roles. I suspect that belt kit will always be king in the light infantry role for a while anyway. The Royal marines will be issued a C2R chest rig soon though (although this is probably British military "soon")

Alternatively uksf use a few different variations including C2Rfast, mayflower and Platatac being seen. There will be others out there too I'm sure. (It's mostly private purchase stuff for the most part though.)

  2. I saw this pop up  on the Ares facebook page and since i have such as soft spot for the T variant I had to share it;

If there isn't, there should be. Or at least a minimum membership time.

I've just joined a few shooting forums and they have a month minimum before you can post in the classifieds.
Which on the one hand was annoying, cos I'd joined to flog stuff (hypocrite, I know!), but on the other hand, I can totally see the value of that as it's got me involved in the community.
People who only join to flog stuff serve no purpose to AFUK as a community.
They also present a greater risk, as they can create a @fuckwit1992 username, flog their tat and fuck off into the distance before anyone's the wiser...

I definitely agree, a minimum 10 posts or a time period would be a nice addition and make life easier to filter through.

Thanks for the update.  Couldn't care less about trades and good to have a release date at least pencilled in.

Yeah, I'm in much the same position. And the talk of a target price actually gives me a hint of hope. Time will tell if the reps are right I guess.

  5. On the topic of MoA I managed to get a few details from someone who is there and has been talking to the VFC reps. Current thinking is a release sometime around July (I have little faith in that bit unfortunately) the price has also been aimed at 19800 TWD which is around £530 plus tax at current exchange rates.

Materials wise it sounds like it's mostly steel, including the bolt however, interestingly they've chosen not to apply the full trademarks to keep costs down.

All in all it sounds fairly promising and definitely a rif that I'll be trying to get my hands on when they do come out 😏

Rules that out, I already have a cheap and randomly uPgR4d3d Well MB-03 with a horrible bolt pull, and am looking for something as smooth as Mila Kunis' cheeks.

I've heard that the Silverback HTI has a really nice bolt pull due to the stupidly large cylinder volume. It's certainly one of those rifles that i'd really like to own one day and it seems to perform pretty well by all accounts.

  7. I know they mentioned Q3 last year. so I suspect they found another issue or something came up in production. At least it proves that they haven't given up on it.

I'm still really hoping it arrives soon though. would be even nicer to have one in wood or even better an L1A1, but I'd take any FAL/SLR at this point...

  8. Since it's April fools Day, I thought I'd make a thread so we can share whatever silliness happens.

Our first submission is from AirTac, I mean *geltac*

    (No affiliation here)

    "Introducing GELTAC.

At Airtac, our finger is firmly on the pulse of modern combat simulation games. Its no secret that Airsoft as a *sport* is dying, and we truly believe the growing move towards gel ball is something we must all embrace.

We've decided to scrap our BFG, Hi-Capa split mag, and all other HPA related projects going forward, in order to focus on creating innovative and synergic gel ball products.

I would encourage all Airsoft sites to allow gel-blasters at regular events, as part of a transition to gel-only gameplay.

I look forward to what the future holds.

    Stay Jelly,

    James "

I wonder if we will see it any time soon.

I honestly though we would have had it before Christmas… and the ak storm (which was announced at the same time) is out already 😞

I can confirm now that it's definitely TM timing now....so probably some time this decade if we're lucky?

I was also hoping for a quick release, but i'm guessing that they have been selling out of stuff quicker than they forecast and they have a few development tweaks they're having to make with the G19/G17 which will be tying up resources too. plus materials shortages is definitely not helping anything either.

  10. Tbh I'm of the opinion that unless they're shot before the pyro is struck then it's much the same as two people shooting each other at the same time... I.e both people should probably take their hit.

We are talking about a window of around a second between striking the pyro and throwing it which isn't actually that long to make a decision. Obviously it's down to site rules and if you can make it safe again then you probably should as well, if only for the sake of sportsmanship.

At the end of the day you do need to get rid of the explody thing or it's gonna hurt.

Don't underestimate the need for good socks too. Go natural fibre.

Definitely this... it really does make such a difference and are a relatively cheap thing that makes your life more comfortable. even decent quality merino wool socks can be had very affordably from places like mountain warehouse etc.

As far as boots go i love my salomon's but mine are nearly a decade old and the newer stuff sounds like its not made quite as well. whatever you do it's 100% worth getting to a shop and trying some one...it's the two things in airsoft not worth saving money on (The other of course is eyepro)

That's very interesting as I always understood that Krakman in Poland (aka Taiwan Gun) were the European distributor for Double Eagle, and also interesting is no explicit mention of Double Eagle or QAP branding 🤔

Yeah they are, although most retailers get them straight from HK for the most part (patrol base excepted I think.) As for whether the ASG is OEMd by DE... I guess we'll have to wait and see. I couldn't tell you either way.

Just the thought of two apc556s licenced at the same time is a bit unusual. Last time we had that was the WE & VFC G3s...

Damn, I'm glad this thread has been resurrected... a Double Eagle that's not an M4, but takes M4 mags... that's getting very near to the top of my shopping list!
Does anyone in the UK actually sell them though???

I believe that ASG will be importing them soon... or at least they are importing some form of APC556 based on their recent press release.

May be an image of text that says "B&T APC 556 6mm Airsoft guns Fully Licensed by B&T EVO Cylinder Set Full Metal (hand guard M4-Style Magazine eciever) recie ASG FOLLOW THE STORY #ASG2022 BT B®T"

This is from their Facebook page.

  14. The best option I've found for repro's are the holy warrior Airsoft XPS or 553

Alternatively take a look at the holosun or vortex optics for cheaper real steel warranty with NV capabilities. (Having a dedicated NV mode is a must or you may damage the tube. Some tubes have a better autogating system than others.)
