  1. I used to, but not any more. In the extant case, it's a late dispatch. In any case, if they've given an indicated delivery date then that's a contractual term. They're perfectly welcome to increase their estimates, and I can make an informed decision on that basis. I'd rather wait two weeks for an honest seller than be bilked by one who promises 3 day delivery than takes over a week to even dispatch.
  2. Looks like, just a minimum £40 order and free delivery over £100. But you need to go to the £250+ range before you start seeing decent bulk discounts and even then they're more than buying individual smokes at my local site - I don't know how that works, unless EG's prices have just shot up. https://store.enolagaye.com/c/smoke-grenades/
  3. Incompetent arrogant crooked thieving filth, I'm saddened that you've resolved their mistake at your cost. This, right here, is why I now file a "goods not received" dispute the moment any order from a business seller is later than the indicated date, or if it contains the slightest deviation from what was promised without prior agreement. No waiting, no excuses, no nuance. It's either complete and on time, or the contract was breached, and not by me. I've got an eBay one to file at a minute after midnight tonight, even though the goods are now ostensibly on the way. Nope, no benefit of the doubt, if it's reached the point where I've been able to escalate it, there's no further basis for trust.
  4. (That's my only contribution, sorry)
  5. Nice fit. I've never been quite sure what to do with a top fan. My solutions blow inwards from the side and across the lens. On top, I'd probably try it blowing upwards rather than shoving hot sweaty brow-air back down, but I'd be prepared to flip it over if that doesn't work out.
  6. I wouldn't over think it. If you fancy an Edge 2.0, they do offer a lot of tangible value for money. I'm happy enough with my Edge 1, everything seems well thought out and made, with none of the rough edges from the bad batch last year. I thought it had an issue with the X-ASR mosfet but it was just a sticky trigger which was likely something I did while I was in the gearbox. The Aster and magic trigger in the 2.0s will obviate that while offering a bag of tricks.
  7. I fell into this trap. I knew I'd have to drill-and-dremel out the rail blocks but I didn't realise the end cap would be different too. When the stock arrived and I realised, I hummed and hawwed about trying to modify it with a hot air gun and more drilling, but considering that the plastic on the Galaxy MP5Ks isn't the best to begin with, I bottled it and flogged the stock onto someone else in the hope that they'd have better luck. I'd love to know if anyone has actually managed it, as an A3 stock on an MP5K receiver seems like a common enough fetish.
  8. I'm seeing them all over the place now. You think they could at least spring for a few mid-caps.
  9. Mmm, airsofters are already delusional enough about the performance of our assault-toys without adding tangerine trees and marmalade skies into the mix.
  10. Not a comment on the specific gun, but support guns seem to be a bit of a labour of love given the proliferation of PDWs with drum mags spamming the same plastic in the same way for half the weight and price, but with semi settings as well. Do your regular sites have any particular rules in place to help out support guns?
  11. Heroic, I'd call it quits at 25. I took 4 litres of water today but only got to drink 2 since we got into a literal fire-fight before the end of the day, and our priorities changed rather sharply.
  12. Ah, DPM, a man of taste. Sorry, I can't speak to the I82s, although I do get the impressiont that they're somewhat fo a labour of love. I'm aware of that CYMA review and my impression is that the intention was to see how long it took to burn it out through abuse. It's not something that would concern me in practice - CYMA stuff tends to be pretty robust.
  13. ... if it works. It failed before chrono. Well, the mosfet, trigger or wiring failed. Or conceivably the motor. Electrical, anyway, and there's no blinkenlight on the mosfet. I should have followed my instinct and just replaced the whole wiring with a basic circuit. I'd rather have something that works at 90% efficiency, 100% of the time. [UPDATE] Huh, it was the trigger. It got hung up on something (still haven't figured out what) and wasn't quite making contact. That's a new one. It's freed up and seems fine, I can't replicate the issue. Back to happy again. [FURTHER UPDATE] Yup, that was fine today. I'd messed up the s-hop that I'd done to it and had to tear it out at lunch. With the AOLS 455mm, stock hop unit and nub, and a pretty mucky maple leaf macaron 60 that I had in the bits-box, it was pleasantly consistent. Quite twangy with an M130 spring in it, but it doesn't have a bearing piston head. I'm happy with that, for now.
  14. That's my point, they love planning them, and creating lots of lovely self incrimination and opportunities to rat each other out. But they rarely do it. All talk and no pogrom.
  15. Great to hear, I assume you've got your future purchases planned out.
  16. I don't know whether to laugh or cry. Yes, it's a common enough story, and why we always recommend renting first. Some people love the ouch, some can't stand it. Still, his loss is someone else's win, it all ends up back in the hobby one way or another.
  17. Just drilled a hole in the side, there's plenty of meat on these goggles between the frames. I've also enlarged those existing vent holes a bit with a pointed soldering iron. Gentle, which is all I need given that these are already dual paned and I'm using Revision wipes. It's just for the times when I'm still after exertion. I have FMA fan goggles with a tiny side fan which also work, but I prefer these goggles as they're slightly neater and lighter.
  18. That's a reasonable point, if you're altering the design. I'm really impressed with the wording though, as it looks as though someone has put some proper thought into it. The great news is that even if someone does demonstrate shooting full steel BBs from their toy gun, it doesn't change the classification of any of our guns toys. Yup. I've got a bag of 0.43g bios that are only now starting to break up 3 years after being opened, while being stored in the garage with no special precautions. And caring. It's so easy to just shrug all this off and assume the best from players. Well, that's it in a nutshell. One thing that has really stuck with me from some H&S liability training is that the absolute worst thing that you can do is to identify and acknowledge a risk, then take inadequate measures to address it, even in good faith. Your'e making the prosecution's case for them. I'd class most site chroning as that. If I were coming up with procedures for a site, I'd not even mandate pre-game chronoing, because then you create a duty of care to do it, and when someone does sneak past, you've failed in that duty. Instead, I'd acknowledge the reality that it's impossible to stop people cheating (e.g. by Joule creeping) or avoiding pre-game chrono, and would offer it as a service for players to check their own toys. But then I'd chrono them in-game as above, regular and often. The goal is to catch and deter rogues, not to verify that fair players are fair.
  19. Given how long and remote-ish that mag release mechanism is, I'd be minded to give it a squirt of silicone oil (if there's any plastic in the mix) or 3-in-1 (if it's all metal to metal). You may end up having to give the detent on the magazine a little kiss with a dremel or file to enlarge it fractionally (on the bottom edge, as the top edge is what's helping to hold it in place against the hop).
  20. Good news, my hat is fully charged! I've just thrown that unit together from a 12V fan[1], a small 7.4V lipo with some kydex wrapped round it to make a holder, a switch, and some silicone tubing, all liberally[2] hot-melted together and finished off with Poundand's very best rattlecan black. [1] This is running much quieter off of 7.4V than the visually identical one sealed in to my Space Soldier helmet. I wonder if that might be a 5V unit. [2] Liberally in the sense of sloppily, lazily and without any care or pride in my work.
  21. Before going to collect some left handed hammers and tartan paint? Poh-tay-toes I'd heard of, but onions are a new one. It was pinlock visor inserts that convinced me that dual-paning airsoft goggles is the way to go, and the way to go it is. I'd actually recommend that as the default anti-fog strategy, given how cheap and easy it is to do to any goggles.
