Beware If Buying From Novritch Now If You Live in UK
Rogerborg replied to Nuttycapri's topic in Places to Buy
Mmm, good to hear. I wonder if HMRC are just assuming that anything under the threshold that should have had VAT and duty paid at the point of sale has had it done, and they're only going for the big ticket shipments. -
If you're using them on PMR channels then there is essentially zero chance of anyone who matters being bothered by it. Stick to PMR channels and it's like doing 100 on a racetrack. The problem is if you go off of those, then you might find yourself doing 100 past a school for blind orphans.
-
That does sound like a lot, but the question is, what's it's shooting at with the hop dialled info for the weight of BB that you're using?
-
Sure, that's all a DMR really needs. Beyond that, it's what you want to do to it, e.g. gears, motor, hop unit (ZCI plastic rotary FTW), hop rubber and barrel. Pre-cock and all that jazz would be nice, but at some point fiddling around with the gearbox and electrical parts of it is going to lead you to think "why not just HPA?" If your budget is over £200, then how about the CYMA CM.098A? I know you want to use your M4 mags, but again given current stocking you might find that it's actually easier to get AR-10 mags. Worst case, high-caps do work just fine, and its not like you'd need to buy mid caps.

I'm happy enough with the SA-02 Edge that I got this year. Decent enough alloy externals, a good hop unit, nice wiring, the internals of the gearbox seem fine without the rough finish reported in the previous iteration. The air seal wasn't perfect, but good enough. The quick change spring is actually fairly quick, you go in up the buffer tube with no need to take the gearbox out. Wired to Deans, which is always nice. Just a basic X-ASR mosfet, but that gives the potential to swap in a Warfet for trick shots. The stock motor isn't amazing, but then what is? I didn't try it with the stock barrel, but it's heavy brass and I couldn't see any obvious issues with it. The worst part was the moulding and security of the plastic M933 style Fudd handguard, but that won't be an issue for you.

Not needed, it's just a matter of filing a tiny piece out of the selector plate. I recently went with a Specna Arms Edge because of the number of things that I didn't have to replace, but I wouldn't necessary recommend it as the Orion gearboxes (despite being factory radiused) are picking up quite the reputation for breaking. Still, if you're prepared to gamble, there's a lot of features in there for the money. I'd suggest taking a look at CYMAs, which have pretty tough internals, although the reason I avoided them is that they don't tend to come with both metal bodies and quick change springs until you get to the £200+ Platinum series. The thing is, stock of everything is quite low so you're limited to what's available.

That, really. Just initiate whatever chargeback process you have available to you, whether that's PayPal, or a credit or debit card. Bank transfer, or PayPal friends and family, is always, always a scam. Looks like this sale:

And technically things like Pulse Rifles and the APS UAR. Heck, even the AAP-01 isn't a realistic imitation of a real modern firearm, and yes, that's the criteria under the VRCA, and yes, I know the Firearms Act is different. The big risk is that airsoft is only a defence due to the anonymous Home Office explanatory circular accompanying the 2007 amendment, it's not actually in the legislation, and it could be removed on a whim without even Ministerial involvement, warning, or consultation.

Welcome, and hmmm. The problem with sniper rifles is that they're literally hit or miss, and as stock, mostly miss. It can be a very frustrating experience playing with one that's not at peak performance. As far as I'm aware, none of the L96s are particularly usable as stock, so you'd be looking at putting in time and money to sort one out - or buy a pre-sorted, used one that you can personally test "shoots like a laser" (which is what every owner claims ). Always worth asking around at your local site, although doing so on Facebook can be a bit tricky given the Zuckerborg's attitude to anything assault-toy related. On budget pistols, I would point at the AAP-01 as the best performance for money, but it's not modelled on any particular gun. If you're doing an impression kit and want a mock-Glock, I'd suggest the Army Armament R17 as being surprisingly decent for the money: I use one as a CQB primary without issues. The current versions don't have Glock trademarks though. Brands to avoid like the plague are Nuprol (who just reband the cheapest random tat they can find) and Raven (which is a Nuprol rebrand!).
-
They still are, or at least the cheapest guns that you'd actually want to use. They're cheap because they make so many of the things, and their mid range Blue / Platinum stuff is getting a lot of love.

Sadly, there was only one video that I was aware of it, and got yanked from YouTube for no discernable reason. It doesn't even show who uploaded it now.

Nah, he'd have said "furious fisting". Oh, now I have regrets.

Hmm, then that is a pickle. Sorry, this is why I've given up on importing anything now unless it's for sweetie money from Ali Express, who pay (or claim to pay) the VAT and duty at source. -

Does it matter? I infer that it's already on it's way, they put what they put, and you'll get mugged for what you get mugged for. Expect the worst and you can only be pleasantly surprised. -
Putting the energy in yourself makes it more personal. Same with shotguns. Hours and hours of futile jerking your hand back and forth, but what a feeling when you finally blow your load right in someone's face.

Police need to be equipped with fully automatic woodchippers. We need a Woodchipper Pride Month, I already have a flag in mind. I hope, I really hope, that they look into whoever sold the nonce that RIF and do them for it if they don't have a rock solid defence. And when I rant about AirsoftWorld and Fat Bobs selling to anyone who asks without a real defence, this is why.

Barrett 50cal Spring Sniper Rifle-used once

Same with most hobbies, really, and we're spoiled for choice in the decadent West. I'd go with that. Start flogging off what you don't need, but don't sell right out. Try a different site, a pistol-and-shotgun only day, do a hoodie-high-cap day, something to give you a different perspective. But I wouldn't force yourself to go, and especially I wouldn't go for anybody else's sake: that's what made me give up on historic re-enactment, when it became more about "supporting the group" than a pleasant day playing make believe. I don't do group motorcycle rides any more for the same reason.

I guess it'll depend on what they've listed it (well, the various "bits") as. It's generally in the 2%-4% range, plus the £15-20 mugging from the courier when they charge you for the privilege of paying the duty to HMRC on your behalf - that's the bit that really winds me up. -

I'm half convinced that Norn Ireland has already been assimilated by the Euroborg Collective, add there are only token protests to the contrary being made. -

It depends on the site. The Depot (departed but about to be resurrected) banned all Dan Wesson style shell loading revolvers, Mk23s with silencers (which could be hiding barrel extensions), and all grenade shells, either shower or Whatever-Mikes. It's always worth asking before buying anything remotely out of the ordinary.
