[Shudders] I guess that raises the issue of marshalling. If you're intending to run days like that, you'll want a head marshal who is prepared to turn up at every game day and be the biggest voice on site. They should set a fun, friendly tone at the brief, but be uncompromising in the game zone, ready to punt anyone back to the safe zone or off-site, up to and including halting games or pulling the plug on the whole day if it turns into a aggro fuelled chavvy shit-show. Finding someone who's approachable and easy going and doesn't have an ego problem, but is also prepared to run towards an escalating tantrum or face down a toxic player and tell them to sling their hook, that's a tricky task. Harder still to find someone who will actually do it all day without drifting off into chatting or checking their phone. I've seen very few marshals who can tick all those boxes

The plan was reasonable in principle; the defenders could only respawn when they had a group of 5 waiting at the spawn. However, the spawn was too close to the objective (and not properly enforced), and the defenders figured out that they could just call themselves out when they had 3 or 4 waiting, run (half way) to the spawn, and get the whole group back in. Meanwhile, the attackers just bogged down and concentrated on shooting rather than pushing. I dropped the DMR and went in with the MP5K but got hosed down every time. No big deal, not everything works, but it's not the first time they've run this, and the problems with it are fairly obvious. It needs solid marshalling to stop the insta-spawns, but by that time the marshals were more interested in playing with a drone rather than sorting it out. It wouldn't be airsoft without something to complain about.

When I recently got a fresh UKARA, the site issued it via a tablet and said it was live immediately, which did seem to be the case. However, UKARA is just a way of showing that you're a member of a site, which is just one way of the seller adducing a defence. Retailers want to sell to you, so you could put in an order, let them know the site and the membership number, and they can check themselves. Let's be honest, it's largely a box ticking exercise for them.

Indeed, the last game of the day was abandoned because it was run as a choke point game with no flanking, and the attacking team (us) just couldn't push, no way, no how, and simply gave up. That. I mean, that's why we're there, to shoot toy guns. It's just that becomes impossible to complete capture-the-thing when both teams are on infinite respawns.

No hate from me though. We're all playing a very silly game with toy guns. As long as folk are taking their hits - and not pre-firing corners like a sociopath - it's all good. Just please don't take it too seriously, and please remember that nobody else gives a hoot how much you dominate the field, but we will notice if you're doing it by power-playing and only feeling the fifth hit.

I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be hearing, that sounds decent enough to me. It's an electric motor and a bunch of gears inside a tin box, there's always going to be some whine and ping.

Pretty decent day yesterday. As statused, it started poorly with an s-hop in my new DMR build that was protruding slightly into the barrel and skying BBs even with no hop applied (and even with the hop arm removed). So it was back to the G36 for the morning, all good. Fortunately I'd brought the box-o-bits and swapped in a Maple Leaf and regular arm and nub over lunch, and got it dialled in nicely. DMR suits the way I like to play, I've never been one for sending clouds of BBs downrange - but can still do so with Mr Full Auto Sidearm if necessary. On that, I'm coming round to the conclusion that airsoft guns have got so good that they're making play less fun. Pushing into solid streams of laser-like BBs gets old pretty quickly. We had fairly low numbers, which made for fewer BBs in the air and a better day for everyone.

Just alluding to "stitch counters" in the reenactment scene. Really though, those are amazing jobs, I love the attention to detail.

I saw a girl on Failbook with the same issue, her unit had reset itself and defaulted to reading in metrons rather than turnips per fortnight. Another argument in favour of Joules - I can tell you that my DMR shoots 0.32g at 1.72J, but I have no idea what that means in metres or feet. It's just not relevant information.

I wouldn't make any distinction. In both cases, the only target you can hit is one that you couldn't see when you pulled the trigger. That's measuring twattishness, not skill: he's shooting dead players in the back willy nilly.

I'm guessing that Specna Arms B06 (I know, M16, but same thing internally) Could be any number of things. Hop rubber lips protruding too far, a worn tappet plate, a slightly miscast hop unit, a gypsy curse. If in doubt, pull the barrel and re-seat it in the hop, and check if BBs will drop down the feed tube without sticking before re-assembly. Something else I've have luck with is popping a 6mm drill bit up the feed tube and verrrry carefully creating a tiny indent in the top of the chamber. We're talking light pressure and a few turns, or even go in reverse: you're just creating the slightest of concave shapes to give the BB something to key into.

Oof, 213fps with 0.25g is just 0.52J, under half the power you should be getting. If that's a stock spring, your air seal is... well, not sealed. You're not likely to solve that with a barrel and hop. There's something quick you can try, which is to open it up and put silicone oil or spray into the nozzle. Give it a swirl around and some time to soak into the piston and cylinder head rings, then give it an auto burst before re-assembling to get most of it out. While it's apart, take the barrel out of the hop unit and check the rubber for signs of damage or perishing. If it's stiff, give it a lube with silicone oil then a thorough clean out. When you put the barrel back in, be sure that it's pushed all the way back into the hop unit, and that the clip is properly engaged. After doing that, if it's still under-powered, I'd suggest opening the gearbox up and lubing or if necessary replacing the piston ring. If you want to dive ahead and change the barrel and hop rubber then I'd suggest a ZCI 6.02mm or AOLS 6.01mm, and a Maple Leaf hop rubber, and a omega nub clone from https://www.ak2m4.co.uk/ But that won't cure your air seal issues, unless it's just down to a perished hop rubber or mis-seated barrel.

If indoor activities don't get shut down again round about October, I'll eat my hat, including the fan and wiring. I very much hope to be wrong about that, but I wouldn't like to bet against it.

You might want to see if you can set it up as a chaaaridy, perhaps through a shell organisation. This sounds dodgy, but it's how the Depot CQB site was run, as a local "sports and physical activity" charity. Given that the building rates would have been £180K a year (!) it's the only way they stayed open as long as they did.

20% VAT + 3.5% duty + £11 + £15 (or whatever UPS stiff you with for billing you for the VAT and duty) If they would send it to the UK, which they won't. Once you get over £300 (and the rest) plus a sometime-to-never delivery date, it makes UK stock of TMs a bit more appealing.

Sadly, that's what sites tend to use, and I can't see any point (beyond a moral victory) in being more accurate than them. It's not like you can win the chrono lottery with "Yeahbut, my Skan says..."

Under half the price of an AA-12 would upset the apple cart a bit. I wouldn't make any assumptions on the actual price to our doors though, this could be a volatile 6 months.
