The only thing funnier than friendly-frag is medic-and-double-friendly-frag. Have you seen the latest teaser from the Depot's Facebook page? 12th September is being whispered, no idea where yet though or if it'll be a mates-only trial game.

+1 to this. I always brought a dump-pouch full of assorted torches to the big, dark indoor Depot CQB site to light up doors and stairwells and draw fire. It was actually kind of exploity, and I was happy to move them once a victim had cried foul.

Intriguing. 2W is way over the PMR 0.5W limit, and there's no reason that you couldn't build something usable at that price given that the mind-bogglingly well featured UV-5R comes in at just a bit more for a pair. They could be a peach or a lemon, you'd have to take a gamble to find out. I'd see if there are any Amazon reviews for those or equivalents. If you do push the boat out a little, the UV-5Rs are great, and favourites with sites. They are decent out of the box with good range, long battery lives and more features than you could ever use (I use mine as an FM radio to play the bangin choons of Smooth FM) However, that's actually a downside of them. You can make them talk to just about anything, but the interface is unintuitive and I'm forever forgetting how to (e.g.) set CTCSS sub-channels on them. Something simpler might actually be an asset.

While simping for the rest of your post, I would take slight issue with this. Precock would be awesome for CQB where every femtosecond can matter to trading off with Oberleutnant Overkill, but for a gun with a 25-30m med, which only has an advantage over an autogun at 50m+, I'd say that it's less important as you're only going to be hitting stationary or moving-towards-you targets anyway. I mean, I'd love pre-cock on any of my toys, but I can't think of many DMR shots I've taken where it would have made a difference to real hits that I could actually have made if only I hadn't had that extra 50 milliseconds of spin up time.

I'll hitch up a rickshaw to my old non-electric bicycle and you can peddle me around.

What's up with other places such as reddit?

Fanboi is a perfectly valid gender, don't be a bigot. I first realised that I was in love with him and would be his waifu when he disclosed that he puts a piece of misinformation into every video just to mess with people who blindly follow advice. Although that itself is likely to be misinformation. I suspect that's a shout-out to Meccano, which had a deliberate error in every set of instructions so that you had to work it out for yourself, as is right and proper. -

Only people who are wrong though. I was interested to note that Luke has a day job and isn't reliant on running a site or teching to pay the mortgage. I rather suspect that this is what allows him to be so generous with time and parts. -
Admission, I was doing so well with the cycling, then I bought an electrically assisted pedal cycle about a month back.

I may just have been unlucky with mine, I've seen plenty of good reviews and a few decent examples. It still works, just not with the same efficacy as others that I've seen. In very CQB the spread isn't an issue, although I would prefer a lighter and more discrete trigger pull. All that said, I still quite often pull it out of the bag at the end of the day when things have quietened down a bit.

You'll want to cross your fingers. My CYMA tri-shot hops one barrel fully and the other two randomly or not at all. Arguments that this creates a "spread" don't hold much water as at close range I don't need it, and at long range it spreads more than I want it. However, a chap pulled a similar CYMA out at the range the other week and was getting a beautiful head / groin sized cluster out of it at woodland ranges. It was slightly over-hopping 0.25g and would likely have been spot on with 0.28g, which is what my "good" barrel prefers. Both of mine (CYMA, ASG Franchi with no effective hop) need a good old haul on the trigger, which somewhat obviates the benefit of a pre-cocked gun. They're great fun though, and there's a real feeling of satisfaction when you get a hit from energy that you've put in. Top tip for cocking a pistol-grip shottie is to push the grip and gun forward, rather than pulling the pump backwards. Same effort, but a more effective use of your muscles.

Because he mocks them mercilessly and accurately, see his latest Skyler video. From the little I've seen of Reddit, it isn't a community, it's a cleared space in the forest floor where peacocks strut and display. On giving advice, I'm actually quite loathe to do it since it would be better for someone like @Sitting Duck to share what he knows versus what worked for me once. It's a quandary, if people only post when they really, really know what they're talking about, then all forums and groups would be pretty lonely and empty. Then you can go the other way with Reddit and particularly Facebook when someone ask "wut am bests..." and all you get is a vomitous tide of "WUT I JUTS BORT!!!" assertions without context, nuance, evidence or any real experience with the alternatives. -
That's an absolutely horrifying idea which I could not possibly advocate even though I've done it several times.

Stock motors are sad motors. I've had three Big Dragon motors (or rather "mortors") from Ali Express now, two M140s and an M160 for a DMR, and they've decently strong-fast for the money.

Hells Airsoft Derby - Weeknight CQB

Thanks for the review. I've now gone off down a rabbithole learning about rubber chippings, which do seem to be plagued with dust to the point where some sellers claim to be dust-free (and I guess some don't), and one even gives away as much free dust as you can eat. https://www.espsupplies.co.uk/sport/rubber-chippings/ https://re-bound.co.uk/free-rubber-dust-powder/ -
It is baffling. I can actually understand (if not agree with) dropping that much on a rare RIF, even if it's a wall hanger. But on an obvious toy that will shoot much the same as CYMA AK, no, I don't get it.

I tried this recently just out of interest and didn't get the super secret offer. Possibly it's only for new accounts, although it's not rocket surgery to obtain a new email address.
-
I reckon @AirsoftNewb knows this and is having a bit of fun. I also reckon that he'll never actually play and my £5 remains on the table if anyone wants to bet against that.
-
I am also baffled. Granted, this is when the least tension is on, but as Oscar Wilde so adroitly noted, to lose one tooth may be regarded as a misfortune; to lose both looks like carelessness. Didn't Luke at Negative just rant about removing two teeth?
-
That is a fair point, although a lot of the stuff that BBgunz4nedz flog seems to come with stock gelcoat plastic parts, not painted over. If it's been charged for as a customisation service, then you can't return, but if it's a stock item, I can't see any problem with it.

Playing with dolls with silly made up rules. Completely ridiculous, not like playing with toy guns with silly made up rules.

It's pure seal clubbing, and free-to-pay-to-win, much worse than in World of Warships. I uninstalled it months ago, but do still enjoy watching Claus Kellerman on YouTube to remind me why I shouldn't re-install, even at the "free" price.

Urgh, I haven't actually played tabletop mini games in... hmmm... decades. Last army I had was 40K Epic 6mm Marines, but GW have long since dropped that because the profits weren't there. When I look at the hilarious prices they're charging now for single minis, and their strategy of declaring that stuff they sold you literally last week can't be used in tournaments or in-store any more because "new Codex = all new minis", I just pity anyone getting into it now. I love what they created in the past, but loathe what they've done with it now.
-
If that's true then he can return it for a full refund. It's not, of course, which is why it's not worth anywhere near full retain price, let alone way over it. This chap has a history of flogging "as new" / "never used" stuff, and the previous ones are RIFS, so why is this an IF? Nothing hugely dodgy about that, but I rather suspect that he's a trader rather than a player.

Generally, yes, and it's pure cringe to see someone list the full amount that they've spent on retail parts for their custom Frankengun, and then knock off maybe £20. There are a few bargains to be had down at the lower end, but you need to get in really quickly, and I agree that they're all a gamble.
