I hate high rof guns. It would be SOOooo..... much better if they fired at the correct rate for the particular gun they're modelled after. Not going to happen though 😥
  2. I don't want to do any mods on it unless I have to. I might go for a better neo motor but I don't know much about em if you can recommend one. (keeping everything else standard) That looks like a cool build 👍
  3. I'd be interested to know how it goes with a different motor to allow the use of 7.4s I guess it will have slower rof? My 7.4 20c can just about run it on single but I don't think it would work in a game. Auto isn't useable as its so slow and I imagine it would kill the battery pretty quick
  4. I'd like to play a game during the day with forced mid-cap capacity (can be done with hi-caps too but you have to trust the players). I know some places have ammo limits.
  5. Hehehe yep, I was looking at Bolts before and this Lonex looked like a bargain in comparison. (Thanks for the headsup 👍) Watched all the videos I could find about it and then it fell into the shopping basket 🤣 I've given it a test already and bloody hell, the recoil along with the noise is quite brutal. The only problem is my batteries aren't powerful enough. All 7.4 20c, so I had to order my first 11.1 and there isn't massive space available of course. I'll do a full review when I get the new battery but from what I've seen so far I think its a keeper. (My only concern at the moment is longevity)

I never thought I'd do this but I'm letting it go. It was a JG XM177 but I removed the flash hider for a later M733, commando birdcage type. I spent quite a lot of time wearing this as you can probably tell (It does look better to the eye). Its not to everyone's taste but if you want something that looks like its been through the shit in Vietnam then this should fit the bill 😉 I also spent quite a bit of time/money on finding the correct round handguards. (I'll include the original ovals as there is a bit more space in them) Can fit a 1300mAh LiPo in the guard quite comfortably so should be able to go higher. Shoots very well between 320-330fps (I was using a mix of 0.2g BB's brands so a bit inconsistent there) Included 120rd mid-cap mag (also with worn effect) Working charging handle bolt catch and release. No swaps thanks NOTE: I'm including a 1600mAh NiMh 8.4v but no charger. Gun and Battery wired to DEANS Price is all included

  7. I don't think they're posting to UK at the moment. Last I checked you had to spend over £135 per order
  8. Yep, confirmed thanks. Just needed some boiling water to loosen the threadlock 🙄
  9. Anyone know if the Lonex AEG threads are CW or CCW? Specifically this one: https://www.bespokeairsoft.co.uk/lonex-10-5-baw-qscg-aeg-with-recoil-system-l4-01-baw-black The flash hider is on there solid even after taking out the grub screw. I guess they've glued it because of the recoil but bloody hell its on tight. (I've also sent an email asking Bespoke) Cheers, ED
  10. @Gamble has done some great vids for new players but he's too shy to post em 😄 https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCL-V_yVApaCpm096XBAQE1A
  11. Yep, its worth getting two batteries to swap mid-day or if one fails. You can use the one that came with the gun as a backup and get a LiPo as well. (2 LiPos will be better of course) Can be a rucksack or gym bag for general gear, drinks, snacks, clothing, BBs, magazines etc. Gun bag is a MUST. You cannot allow the rifle to be seen in public at all. (Could also be worth explaining to the neighbours if they can see him with it in the garden) I put my boots in a plastic bag as its often muddy and have normal shoes for the car. Following from @Gamble regarding safety. In the house or garden there is always the chance of ricochets so eye protection must ALWAYS be used along with good trigger discipline. That means never put finger on trigger until actually aiming and always move selector to SAFE when not aiming. This is more critical at home but its a good habit to get into. During the game the SAFE mode does not have to be used until going back to the safe zone where they will ask to remove the magazine and then fire a couple of dry shots. NOTE THAT AT LEAST ONE BB CAN STILL BE IN THE GUN EVEN WITH THE MAG OUT So dry firing a couple of times after taking out the mag clears it but the golden rule applies: Always treat a gun as loaded. (Lots of dry firing (without BB's) is bad for the gun)
  12. A cheap helmet can be good to prevent knocks from tree branches and falls but a baseball cap is enough to protect from BB hits. Its best to remove the battery if not being used for several days. Long term it would be best to get a better battery (LiPo) and charger. Presumably the battery goes in the rear of the stock so a dual stick would be best. THIS battery should last a whole day. THIS is the most basic charger. (A good one will cost around £30 something like THIS but you'll need some adapter cables too) Its best to search the forum for chats about batteries and chargers as there are more in depth discussions.
  13. Don't worry you haven't asked a stupid question yet 😉 Yeah, surplus shops are good. Check out ebay as well for cheap reproduction stuff that's good enough for airsoft. I think THIS is a good lower facemask. Search 'airsoft goggles' to get some idea of what's available. As mentioned by @Iceni, look for known brands like Bolle, Dewalt, Uvex also Pyramex and 3M (Don't spend less than £10 for anything)
  14. I also use both mesh and normal goggles. I've read the stories of BBs shattering but I've never seen anything happen in the few years I've been playing. Its really only possible with high power sniper rifles at close range and they usually have a minimum shooting distance of 20-30 metres. So its possible but HIGHLY unlikely. (Perhaps it was more likely in the past and maybe BB quality has improved?) As Iceni said, goggles are good as long as they are close fitting around the eyes. It depends how much exercise you can do before sweat becomes a problem. Forget shooting glasses. They're like half protection. Lower face protection is very advisable and mandatory for under 16s at the sites I go to. THIS is good because it includes ear protection and easy to breath (Example only: You may find them cheaper elsewhere). You can also bend the mesh to fit the face. I've not been to Ground Zero but from the google photos it looks really good (and big). Who knows, you may get addicted too 😉
  15. Its good that he could try it out before buying. It won't be long until you hear "Daaaad, I saw another one that looks even cooler" 😆
  16. For outdoor games the most common injuries I've seen are twisted ankles so I'd always go for best support available.
  17. Hi and welcome. I hope you did some research before buying 😉 Will you be playing too?
  18. Not sure you can put a tracer on that one but I don't know it so could be wrong. I think the Edge range are good value and will be fine for many game days. Make sure to clean the barrel as soon as you get it. And as with any new purchase, test a mag full before throwing away the box etc. (Keep the box if you can for re-sale)
  19. Yeah, for milsim mid-caps make much more sense and I'd definitely use them in that scenario. In general game days there'll be a few people you'll have to empty a whole mag into before they take the hint 😆 You can always buy a few of each and vary them during the day.
  20. Midcap = Realism and stealth but less BB's so need more of them. Hi-cap = Lots of BB's but noisy (maracas) I use hi-caps and have at least 2 for each of my gunz which adds up... Moving stealthy will not make too much noise and running doesn't really matter how much noise I make 😄 I mainly use semi so a couple of hi-caps lasts a whole game.
  21. Duno if there are 'best' airsoft boots. 😉 Depends how much you want to spend. You'll want something with good ankle support. Army surplus shops have good options of course. THESE are the cheapest I can find with a quick search. Just do a search for "army boots"
  22. Anyone tried one of these kits? https://www.modify-tech.com/upgrade/aeg-internal-parts/airsoft-recoil/m4-carbine-hp0101
  23. That actually looks quite good.
