And it is done. Mostly. My one of a kind Scar-L. Seen here in it's standard and Thermal versions. God was this a PITA to make... preforms well though.
 
Started out life as a VFC Scar-L, perhaps the best looking Scar out there. Then I got my hands on a SRU prototype kit that is made for WE Scar-L GBBRs. I decided to make the gun run by HPA, as there is no way to get this working with anything other than gas - there is no room for a motor after all. So in goes a Polarstar Jack. I had to whittle down the trigger guard, as the WE apparently has a thinner one - the VFC's was too wide to fit. Then, out came the dremel, as the base of the gearbox stuck out enough that I had to open up space in the stock for it. That took a long time, and is one of the few things left to do (notice in image 3 there is a small gap between the halves - I need to remove about another cm of material). Finally the stock went on (the front half required no modification). I enlarged and angled the hole for the Jack's line next, as the pre-drilled hole needed to move backwards about an inch to work. Next thing - the trigger. This kit extends the trigger of the gun to the front half (obviously). Some light sanding was needed to make the trigger pull smooth. Several layers of electrical tape were added onto the pull face of the trigger's triggering piece, then cut to size, and superglued into place. The triggering mechanism itself was too tight, so the front half of it had to be removed as well. This created the issue of the trigger bar not holding the trigger mechanism, so it was superglued, then the glue seal was broken to create enough surface to create friction so it would catch, but not be permanent (as I still needed to be able to take apart later). Then the SRU kit was done. I put a Venom Tech 6.02 TBB in it, and a Madbull red hop that I had to cut down slightly (that thing is tight...). I also got one of SRU's rails, which I had to cut down with my dremel to fit my Eotech (visible in image 1 and 3) I also had to replace both my FCU wire and my trigger switch, as both had broken somewhere along the way. I added my genuine Eotech 552 with the LBC (Laser Battery Cap), a Knight's Armament QD suppressor, one of my 950 lumen Powertac e5 lights on the right rail, a Contour mount for my facecam on the left, a Safariland single point sling mount, and I use my Gen 1 Magpul P-Mags in a Safariland dual-mag mount.
 
It's taken me about three months to make, and Im happy with the result. 
 

 

 

Just waiting on the vision king short dot to arrive from Daves Custom Airsoft and I should be all set... Apart from the whole "always firing in full auto" issue im having.

Placed an order Friday evening and it was delivered today. No hassle no fuss same as always.
 
They do need to amend this though.

Its not legal and is against consumer rights.
Too many airsoft shops try to make up their own rules and end up getting away with murder.
Remember if something breaks through user error but its only occurred because of poor manufacture or a design flaw then you can claim not fit for purpose. Most airsoft technicians are not qualified or experienced engineers and are not qualified to judge whether there is a manufacturing or quality issue.

Yeah it should be fine, I forgot to put my UKARA on one of my orders and by the time I realised and rang them to correct it, they had already sent it. 5 days later my order turned up with no problems what so ever.

Worth having a couple to switch between. Though though do have a handy charging station at the Mall.

My 2200mAh Lipos have lasted me all day comfortably. His 1600mah should be ok if he doesn't just spray and pray all day.

The event was great fun, absolute carnage & was very evident that comms were essential, those with night vision absolutely bossed the games (as they would!). The Apoc team pulled out the stops, getting generators in to light up some of the main structures (The Village)
 
Completely different dynamic that was more tactical & for those whom excelled, done so by Team work.
 
As for this year, Yes! They're starting doing evening events from the end of March - probably being Wednesday's & will be doing more overnight missions on Saturdays as well which will lead into the usual Sunday skirmish.
 
So all in all it went well & has set a precedent for new events coming to Apocalypse Airsoft this year.

I've definitely seen lots of those at sites, especially so indoor games. If they're well made, then it makes sense really. 100% cotton isn't an ideal fabric for airsoft use, but for £9.. well if they work and last there's no real arguing with that.

Personally, my experience over the years has been that one of the biggest reasons people end up buying the wrong gear/stuff that doesn't work out for them, is that they don't ask the right questions to begin with. Not to mention the classic "hey guys, I just bought X, is it any good?". So yes while obviously I could figure out the meaning, I think encouraging people to ask the right things to begin with is important. I also tend to think that people being too lazy to just type out a proper query don't deserve to be spoon fed information in return; but hey I'm sure somebody will take the opportunity to jump on me for being an awful person for holding that opinion at some point or another.

Has anyone just used work trousers with the foam knee pads? I use these for working in the workshop and they are idea, nice and sturdy, plenty of pockets and the knee pads mean you can kneel on concrete/screws etc as much as you like without feeling a thing. Got a pair from Aldi for about £13 and the knee pads were £4. I also got a pair from B&Q for £22 and the aldi knee pads fit them too.

Wild stab in the dark he wants to know where to get black BDUs and whether or not he should get the ones with built in kneepads.
 
Of course....we'd then have to explain that the ones with built in knee pads aren't really BDUs but that's a whole different world of pedantry. A more relevant question would be how much does he want to spend? That way we can suggest Military 1st or Hueys depending on which way his budget goes...

Ok, and what are they? I mean I could guess but I'd rather find out for certain so nobody wastes their time giving information that's not relevant.
