  1. UK Tactical http://www.uktactical.com have a 30% discount on all warrior Assault Systems kit for Boxing Day until midnight. Use code XMAS30
  2. Merry Winter Festival and a happy and safe airsoft 2016.
  3. Those of you who like the look of the Pentagon Wolf grey jacket, UK Tactical has them at 20% off for today, discount code WOLF20. So it will only cost £58.37. As an owner of this jacket I can recommend it; great for a grey load-out, well made, the two zipped pockets on front have an inner pouch for a pistol mag, the under arm ventilation is useful for keeping cool, and the high collar give good neck protection from BB hits
  4. Welcome Airsoft is less of a contact hobby/sport but the odd injury does occur. I wear a Fast helmet in case I forget/cannot see what is around me, saving a few painful bumps.
  5. Another good reason to vote on leaving the EU.
  6. Mods - Can we move this to the 'UK Law' section. Would make it more accessible and relevant than in the General Discussion melting pot. Good news for airsoft community if there is an Airsoft exemption written in law with clear explanation and guidelines.
  7. If you are not already aware there is a large outdoor site near you, UCAP Sandpit, next to the Bluewater shopping centre. http://www.ucap.co.uk/ucap-airsoft-venues/ucap-sandpit-venue
  8. but does not fall down... oh, no that was Weebles. Not really sure what its purpose is either.
  9. Welcome. You will not be the only over 40 on the forum or out enjoying skirmishes
  10. Christmas tunes, it is that time of year to get festive
  11. The A-TACS LE looked good in the photos but not very practical for that woodland, could work better in low light/darkness though.
  12. If you pop out the thermal lens first it gives better access to the air vents at the of top of the mask and makes it easier to install the fans. Most important thing is to keep the wires tucked in (included cable ties help) and the fans as close to outer edge away from forehead. A single fan kit would be simpler to fit as there is just one fan to locate in the centre of mask, whereas two fans takes a little more effort. There is more space inside the mask for the fans but on top was ok; if you get a kit you will see what I mean.
  13. UK Tactical have 15% off Snugpak jackets with code SNUG15, http://www.uktactical.com/c-66-snugpak-root.aspx?utm_source=form-signups&utm_campaign=----5-snugpaks-snuggling----&utm_medium=http---sendy-uktactical-com&[email protected]&sendy_campaign=jnp56cHmEP48xxD6fMUW9w 15% off Warrior kit with code WARRIOR15, and 10% off everything else with code EVERYTHING10.
  14. The value is in the pretty colours flashing through the air in a low-light or dark environment I have only seen them used during indoor CQB. They are useful for marking where targets are located, and you can often see the tracer BBs bounce off players so you know they they are in range and have been hit (even if the player does not). Conversely they do give away you position.
  15. Having looked at the Max Fuchs website, they appear to be a wholesale supplier of genuine army surplus and not some crap china clones. So could be worth a punt.
  16. Cold Steel make some good quality knives but not all sites will allow you to use them, I bought a cheap rubber flexible M10 bayonet from eBay (£14 inc P&P) that came with a sheath. Main problem with the knife/bayonet is having somewhere to put / attach it and so that it is readily to hand. I did try putting it in my pocket the other day with the handle under my jacket to keep it in place but it does look a little odd and leads players to ask "is that a bayonet in your pocket or are you just pleased to see me?", also not very comfortable. Some people just stick them through their webbing straps and have some cord tied/taped on the end to stop the knife dropping and getting lost.
  17. How much performance benefit is there in installing the Spectre mosfet? Is there much noticeable difference in trigger response and rate of fire with the recoil? I was tempted to buy one when Fire Support had them in stock but resisted the impulse.
  18. 1. Yes, the mask can fog up when wearing the helmet indoors/underground without fans. My raison d'etre for buying and fitting the fans to the Dye i4. 2. Yes, providing the front helmet pad is removable. I have no knowledge of that particular type but they look as if they have Velcro backing and can be taken out. On eBay, a maritime helmet similar to this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FMA-maritime-tactical-protective-military-helmet-abs-black-for-airsoft-paintball-/301785605038 3. No, I have not seen that particular fan kit before. Mine is from eBay, FANZ quick disconnect double fan kit http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/111412822077?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649 (Edit: cannot get this link to work) for about £33 (inc P&P) or look at their Canadian website http://www.fanzkit.com
  19. The Force Awakens - just been to see it, excellent film and a worthy successor to Star Wars. Nothing beats the full cinema experience for picture quality and sound. The full English breakfast and two pints of Guinness before meant no need to popcorn.

Another good reason why I do not do facebook or twitter. I did not want spoilers before seeing the film, a reason for going as soon as possible was that so no-one would ruin it for me

  20. My FAST helmet is FMA, you need the type that has removable foam pads not the cheaper china ones with a solid polystyrene insert. Yes, I did have to mod it a little because the Dye I4 does not fit under the helmet and leaves a small gap on forehead exposed. There are YouTube videos on how to remove the front padding so that the mask fits into the helmet; basically you unscrew the front of both side rails to release interior plastic tension/retaining strap and cut it so that the front pad can be unvelcroed, then take soft felt cover pad and reattach to front inside of helmet to stop mask getting scratched. Not difficult to do, less than a 30 minute job.
  21. My wife has just signed me up to the local fitness centre to get me fighting fit, trimmer, and stronger. Oh joy. For the same money I could buy a new TM recoil and all the extra mags and attachments plus have some skirmish money left over. No matter how fit, I will still get hit and covered in welts, and take longer to recover from a Sunday game than I did 20 years ago.
  22. Use the search function on 'HK416', there was a useful thread about this started on 24 October - http://airsoft-forums.co.uk/index.php/topic/28697-TM-HK416-owners-upgeade-advice/
  23. If you are in the Reading area and can travel down to Portsmouth, then I would highly recommend going to the Combat South shop, http://www.combatsouth.co.uk They specialise in TM and ICS guns. There is an extensive choice (drop them an email or phone them to see what is in stock) and more than is posted on their website. You can get hands on and try many different models, and test fire on their small indoor range. I am also looking to get a small CQB back-up gun in the New Year, either MP5 or G3/HK53 model as I am old school and prefer the looks over newer guns.
