  1. If only you had joined the forum earlier and had a chance to read though some of the threads/posts regarding Just BB Guns. Would have seen its reputation and poor reviews.
  2. Quick search and I can only find Honey Badger at Action Hobbies based in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, which Google puts at 1 hour 58 minutes by car via M1. They have the Honey Badger short version in stock. http://www.actionhobbies.co.uk All a case of how much you want one.
  3. Can you put a link to a map so I can see what county Sutton in Ashfield is in? Or name of a nearby recognisable town/city.
  4. If I had to guess, and having no idea on anything technical, then because it is really a JustBB gun
  5. I expect that the retail smokes that airsofters buy are designed to burn cold, that is a safe burn producing quality smoke without setting fire to the grass / carpet they are thrown on. The last thing you want is a homemade smoke grenade setting fire to a site or another player.
  6. Being a Cold War warrior, then it has to be the classic British DPM for a woodland game which generally works very well. Especially when I am laying down still and getting my breath back I am now using grey clothing for the indoor urban environment, it does appear to be particularly effective in low light areas. I do need to get a grey cover for my black Fast helmet but will not be spraying my guns with grey paint. Have yet to try it skirmishing outdoors.
  7. Off to The Mall Sun 13 Dec to test out my newly fitted Fanzkit quick detach fans on Dye i4 mask. Hopefully the fans will help reduce fogging. Of course need to get awalk on place first.

Managed to get a walk-on place this morning so had another good day in The Mall. The fanzkit worked well, no fogging of my mask and clear all day. There is a low level whine noise from the fan noticeable when quietly sneaking around.

  8. I love the TM MK23. Yes it is not a small sidearm and so will reduce options in available holsters, and is not a blow back pistol, however, its reliability and silence makes it great secondary weapon. Without the suppressor attached it makes a fine sidearm, personally no more difficult to use than other pistols, and with suppressor fitted is great fun to use. May not have the 'bark' and recoil of other gbb pistols but it appears more gas efficient (due to being non blow back) and does the job.
  9. Anyone going to The Mall tomorrow, Sunday 13 December? Could not book a place so I shall turn up early and see if I can get one of the available walk-on spaces.
  10. Agree with you on the MTP. I just use British DPM for outdoors and going towards grey kit for urban. Like anything, it is all a matter of preference (and cost). I quite like the A-TACS FG pattern for woodland, although it is not better than DPM and I only have it because I bought a Warrior chest rig in this pattern. http://www.uktactical.com/p-8284-propper-acu-combat-coat-a-tacs-fg.aspx My favourite is the A-TACS LE (Law Enforcement) urban grey camouflage, not seen very many players wearing it. http://www.ur-tactical.com/index.php/component/virtuemart/view/productdetails/virtuemart_product_id/1736/virtuemart_category_id/ Or Multicam Black which looks good. http://www.ur-tactical.com/index.php/component/virtuemart/view/productdetails/virtuemart_product_id/1746/virtuemart_category_id/
  11. I have not played at Epsom but its CQB just like the UCAP Bunker which is very dark/pitch black with confined spaces. The fps limit is for player safety, especially with full auto, getting shot from a few feet away hurts and it could be in your face. In dark tunnels you can easily be on top of other players (very close quarters) without realising. The rules are for a reason, accept it or do not play there.
  12. Using 0.23g BB to take the fps down is cheating the site limit (even without chronograph) and potentially means you have a hot gun which risks other players.
  13. You could have a look here for ideas: http://www.luckygunner.com/lounge/mounting-optics-ak-rifle/
  14. YouTube has several videos for DIY option. Buy cheap foam roll mat from Army surplus store or camping shop, cut it to shape and tape. Does not have to be pretty as it will be hidden inside the plate carrier, just strong enough to hold its shape and support pouches. Edit: Mr Monkey Nuts already posted as I was typing
  15. Ah, such a sweet way to remove those corridor and stairwell campers.
  16. Playing indoor CQB I have used Nike all conditions gear trainers with cross country grip for their light weight and extra speed (so I can walk faster) but generally I wear boots for the ankle support. I have an old pair of Meindl ones but they need replacing as they were for desert environments; I like Salomon 3D and 4D or 5.11 XPRT boots but cannot justify the cost at the moment. Hopefully their will be a sale with good discount in the New Year.
  17. I have answered the questionnaire as well but you could word the questions better for clarity. Q.10 had no scale to say whether 1 was good or bad. What is an integrated water system? Do you mean a built in drinking straw like the S10 respirator has to drink from a water bottle?
  18. Welcome Ring Worm Like any sport you will get a mix of people playing it. I think we tend to be approachable and friendly. Many of us start out solo and you just need to choose a site, book it if necessary, and turn up. The sooner you start the better. You find that you will get chatting to other players on your team or the people next to you in the safe zone between games. We all like to show our guns to other people, exchange views on what kit we have, and talk about how the skirmish is going, etc. It does seem daunting at first but do not be put of by the kit people wear, just because they look elite does not make them an operator, conversely just because someone has a particular load out does not make them a tosser either. Let them know that you are new, decent players will help you out and make you feel welcome. Not having an expensive gun should not cause others to laugh at you, to be honest I cannot tell what make of gun other players are using, so it is more about how they play the game. Just take your hits, even if not sure if you were hit, you will find the often repeated walk back to respawn lets you think about the game and learn the layout of the site. Take your guns and see how they compare, you can always hire some guns, and research what you would like to buy before rushing out and two-toning it. Have a read through the forum for past threads, there are some useful bits of information and advice, as well as totally off topic randomness (but that is the fun of the forum). Just please use the search function.
  19. I bought one of these as a back up pair of goggles but have not used them yet. The full seal is good. Vision is better than the small circular mesh type goggles but even the larger mesh can still cause some focus issue depending on eyesight.
  20. 'singe' weapon, do they mean a cigarette lighter or did they just not proof read their advert and want you to only have a single weapon.

My point was not' fun' but the realism of loading shells into the magazine. Back in the day, I never had a problem with hand loading a magazine, although the 10 round 5.56 clips and plastic loading tool did make it easier to quickly push rounds into the magazine than doing a box of loose ones. 4 filled mags and 150 spare rounds in a bandolier for reloads.

^^ Love it, the realism of bombing a mag with 30 rounds and then proper shell ejection. Would not fancy having to go around picking up my brass afterwards, expect it costs a fortune to use when need to keep replacing all the lost shell cases. Takes milsim to the next level.
  23. To take a position as Devil's advocate - anyone under 18 is a child. Children should have their own game time (and date) separate from adults only skirmishes. Let there be family time where children can play with parents, older siblings, and friends. Maturity is subjective, stereotypically every child thinks that they are more mature than they really are. Whilst men will remain immature forever, you need to draw a line somewhere and 18 is the point where you can vote and drink. Based on apprentice soldiers I would say 16 is the youngest age for an adult skirmish. Children are more prone to being sensitive and not as emotionally tough, so they cannot deal with piss taking or listen to advice, and may well misread the situation. Adults just want to play airsoft without dealing with tears and tantrums. Yes, we as a hobby need to encourage new members and instil in them a sense of sportsmanship. Adults can be arseholes but airsoft is a cross section of society and nothing to stop chavs and cheaters from playing. I do not condone treating children, or any other player badly. However, there is also the fact that children themselves can be rude and lack respect for anyone else regardless of age. To date I have never seen any problems with children attending a skirmish, although have not seen many. Recently had a father and young son playing together and no issues, for me the worse aspect was feeling guilty when I shot the boy at close range (whereas shooting an adult would not bother me, but that could just be conditioning not to hit women and children). At the end of the day, play to your best, take your hits, and have fun. Then post on the forum all your funny moments, gripes, and any other random crap that is in your head.
  24. The mapping was really useful for an overview of the site and key locations, and your graphic overlay was a good idea. I like a commentary as it helps explain what is happening, often not that clear from a moving camera.
