  1. If you are getting UCAP membership, you may have to wait until next week to get the gun. Handed in my paperwork at the Bunker on a Wednesday and the membership card came in the post on the Saturday, without the membership number could not get my RIF from Combat South.
  2. As replies above. No, being UKARA registered is not needed.
  3. I also could not find anything about airsoft being at the show. It will be an opportunity to buy real steel parts/assessories and some retailers may offer a show discount.
  4. Welcome . Have a look at this link http://www.airsoft-forums.co.uk/index.php/topic/1254-popular-ukara-questions/. It will answer some of your questions. No licence required (no such thing for airsoft), what you need is a valid defence to show that your are a regular skirmisher. Best way is via site membership - play 3 games in no less than two months and within a year at the same site. Once you have site membership you can be registered onto the UK Airsoft Retailer Association (UKARA) database if you want to, although not all players are on UKARA. You do not have to be UKARA to buy a RIF but it will be necessary/worthwhile if buying guns from abroad. Anyone can buy the accessories, i.e. sights, without a defence.
  5. On PC the sites are shown just below the Combat South title. On ipad, Top left is a menu button (3 lines icon), click that and you get a drop down menu to select the differnt sites and info. Not found the site rules, this is from a game day last summer: ALL Airsoft weapons must conform to the site FPS limits: 328fps+7% with a 0.2g BB for AEGs and 400 fps for single action rifles.
  6. A great musican departed, grew up to listening to his music. RIP
  7. I have just looked at their website. Seems very basic and did not give me much confidence in them. Only had an email contact, no info about the retailer. I looked at a couple of pistols they were selling and there were little product detail, no mention of fps, etc. Personally I did not get a good feeling about it. Used Google, one search at Scammer.com http://www.scamner.com/check/adventairsoft.co.uk gave it 0% and did not recommend browsing or buying from the site: Information about this website This website doesn't own an SSL Certificate, your data might be compromised. 8. And that is a key point - honesty, integrity and playing a fair game. Discussing hit taking is going off topic but it is fundamental to the game. I think nothing ruins a day more than poor sportmanship.
  9. I love my Mk23. Quite enjoy playing games with just the pistol, it adds a different dimension to a skirmish game, and the silent shots in the dark are fun.
  10. Playing with good kit Edit: maybe need one of those simple polls - What is most important to you? Playing Gear Collecting guns Undecided
  11. Playing wins every time. However, between games it is too easy to look at kit and buy something. Or after playing think, I wonder if item A would improve my game. Edit: even though my grey Art'terxy trousers cost a ridiculous amount I still lay of the floor, crawl around, kneel in puddles, etc. I never think about trying to keep them clean or protected they are just a tool to be used.
  12. I prefer the dressing up as opposed to naked airsoft I play airsoft because I enjoy shooting toy guns, the thrill of a firefight and the excitiment of sneaking around the other team. It is definately all about playing the game. I like to get stuck in, even if it means getting hit because I hate those corridor stand-offs and would rather get shot at if it means others can exploit my move or at least see where the opposition are shooting from. On my first skirmish I spent most of one game guarding an area that no-one was attacking and thought it a waste of my money to just wait when I could go out and find some action. The costume is secondary. I do not have a particular load-out or impression I am trying to copy. I do generally like to buy quality clothing, but then most of my gear can be used in normal life and not just for airsoft. I would not spend more on clothing than the gun, although my spending spree prior to xmas did equate to a new TM recoil but then I already have one so do not need another. I am not a gun collector. I have bought numerous items trying to get the right product or give myself options of what set-up to use. Sucker for those discount codes for Warrior kit. Chatting to other players in the safe zone is useful to ask about their guns and kit and exchange information. This forum is the same, I think it is good to swap stories, receive or provide advice whether technical or about other diverse matters. I play to have fun and that is what counts. Would love to play every week if I could. Play wins over buying guns and gear.
  13. Remember "There's ALWAYS time for lubricant!" - Harry Block in Evolution (2001)
  14. It does help to learn some of the layout, there are still parts of the basement that I cannot remember acurately and end up geographically challenged.
  15. So I am looking for someone in MTP, that should narrow it down a bit I am hoping to be there as well but will not know for certain until a day or two before.
  16. There have been several recent posts that have links to Tactical Kit, so it does have relevance.
  17. I take it that he is okay and did not do too much damage. I have taken a mis-step and few times and fallen over but luckily no harm done except to my pride.
  18. It does sound seem counter-intuitive; I would expect the difference in accuracy to be between supported and unsupported. The stable position v one where you have more strain/muscle fatigue/movement. Is your magazine resting on the ground when lying prone causing a possible rocking motion. Unless your eye relief and hold is different between positions.
  19. Oh yes. Often need a burst of speed to cross an area or move to a shop/staircase ahead of the other team. I normally let the youngsters run off prefering a more steady pace, although an incoming stream of BBs is encouragment to haul arse. However, there are a lot of glass windows to avoid running into, and the C&A escalators can be very slippery.
  20. Just do it, the sooner you go the sooner you can start playing. Many of us started out solo but make that initial effort and it is worth it. Most airsofters are friendly and will talk to you and show you the ropes and talk about the game. Do not be intimitadated by their guns and kit just talk to them, we all started out as new players. One key point - take your hits, regardless. And have fun.
  21. OK, I will bite. What is LBX? A quick google search comes up with Japanese cardboard and plastic toy robots, are these going to be used as targets? No idea what LBT is, lesbian, bisexual and transsexual? Or are they something provided by Tactical Kit, if so some context and a link might help.
  22. Very artisitc with the wet background, and hopefully they will not rust. A great collection.
