The Annoying Ads
Cannonfodder and 3 others reacted to Tackle for a topic
Guys, in case anyone isn't aware, the latest run of overly large, & exceptionally annoying ads aren't intended to be a permanent fixture, Proffrink is working hard, when he has the time from his irl commitments, to sort it & I believe migrate the page to a new host site, which should sort most of the issues. Obviously its not a 5 minute job, & in doing so the forum will likely experience some downtime, at least until its all completed. So in the meantime we'd ask you to be patient, there's no need to pm the mods about it, were experiencing the same issues & its just as frustrating for us lol. On the subject of ads in general, yes the forum has running costs, which im not privy to, but obviously the original banner ads (not the new annoying stuff), goes some way to mitigate the running costs, those ads are all airsoft related & not annoying in the least usually. Thanks for your patience🙏4 points -
The Annoying Ads
ButcherBill and 2 others reacted to proffrink for a topic
I've just turned them off. Google Adsense does 'auto ads' by default, and this meant basically spamming the entire site with them. Apparently it was 'running an experiment' and just implemented the results for everybody yesterday. The intention is for Adsense ads to appear in the normal two spots (header and footer). There should be no extra ads anywhere else. In terms of functionality they will just be like the ads already on AF-UK but provided by Google and in the same exact spot and size as those who directly advertise on AF-UK already. I would have noticed this sooner but funnily enough I don't see the Adsense ads as apparently it doesn't serve them to the account administrator (clicking your own ads is actually a policy violation too for obvious reasons so perhaps that's why). Sorry everyone for the temporarily more shitty experience. Edit: if you see any ads where they shouldn't be (or in a size that's not normal) please drop a message here and tag me.3 points -

The fact that your auto correct went straight to ARSE probably means you need to delete your search history & cookie cache 😉😏🤣1 point -

I got it from ProAct but WGC et al. have it as it's a standard VFC part these days. Even has the LSO trades! https://www.proactstore.com/products/vfc-ls-stowaway2-grip-m4-gbb1 point

There was a bloke in the safe zone the other week who absolutely reeked after the first game. Not sure he ever washed his clothes, let alone his gear....! I'd venture it was so extreme, that it would put him at a tactical disadvantage. Like the rats in 28 days later, alerting the survivors by 'running from the infected'....1 point -

Comrades! For sale is my beloved and rare collectors Realsword SVD as I’m now a dirty GBBR user. Only a few come up for sale each year as these got discontinued a long time ago. This one is number 850 Comes with: -1x Realsword SVD -1x Realsword mid cap. -1x Modded cyma hi cap. -5x Modded cyma mid caps. -Long Rifle bag. -Unknown brand PSO scope with missing latch (throwing this in for free). -SVD cheek pad. Currently chronos at 354 fps with hop set for .3G BBs. Upgrades: -Gate Pico MOSFET installed, wired to deans. -SHS/rocket high torque. -Maple leaf 70 degree rhop bucking. -Maple leaf omega nub. (I believe it has a maple leaf barrel as well.) Things to note: -Unsure if illumination on PSO scope is working. Also the latch has fallen off it so you need pliers to turn the nut to loosen it and slide it off the dovetail. -Exterior is nicely worn for a lovely eastern bloc rugged look. -BBs curving slightly to the right so just needs the bucking reseating. -It’s a bit difficult sometimes to get the hand guard bracket off to access the battery compartment (you’ll need a screwdriver most likely to lever it). It’s very solid. -Runs best on 11.1v lipos. Don’t spam the trigger super fast just in case the gearbox locks up however this has never happened to me. -I can’t guarantee all the mags feed perfectly until the last bb but I’m 99% sure they do. Price doesn’t include PayPal fees or shipping. Thank you very much.£865
