  1. Caveat emptor ubes alles. Every transaction here is consensual, and some people are clearly happy paying a premium for not having to do even a few minutes of research. Folk are funny like that. Speaking of funny though, it might be a laugh to add Google and/or https://www.airsoftdb.com/ searches or links to ads, based on the title.

  2. I always assume a claim of never fired isn't 100% true, more like test fired only. The way I see it any seller is free to make whatever grandiose claims and set what price the want, but equally everyone else is free to call them out too.

Surely you mean Jonathan Ferguson, the keeper of firearms and artillery at the Royal Armouries Museum in the UK, which houses a collection of thousands of iconic weapons from throughout history?😁

  7. His goggles were knocked off his face or smashed, as I recall. EN166F glasses (which may be another argument, given that they're not even rated for sniper energy BBs) would have no chance. Why wait to learn from your own injuries when someone else has already bled for the lesson? 🤷‍♂️

  9. Super lightweight challenge-mode kit. No ghillie, no camo, very limited rifle ammo (4x 10rd mags for the rifle) Upside is it's incredibly lightweight and super breathable; that Austrian summer kit is so nice. Got spare ammo and gas in the backpack so I'm not going back to the safe zone too much, but being limited to 40 shots with the rifle before having to reload is great for honing the skill to pick your shots and be accurate.

  11. Keep seeing adverts on the forum for “Brand New Guns” often at full or even more than the retail price from dealers. A s/h gun can be as new, but it’s not brand new because the seller purchased it, it’s therefore s/h. Unless of course the seller is actually a dealer then it should come with warranty, able to be returned under distance selling rules etc. And I am not sure that dealers are even allowed to use the sales section on here.

  12. No hastle from JD Airsoft with the issue with mine. Sent me labels to return and options for replacement. I opted to go for the 2" model I wouldn't hesitate to buy one of these despite the issue mine had. A friend on another forum with repair experience has opened one up and is adamant that the internals are top notch. If I were to get another problem I think it would be easily fixable.

  13. What sort of styles are you interested in from their range? https://wellsmadecompany.com/collections/slings Some of them are just colourful / patterned 25mm webbing straps. You can get colourful or patterned webbing straps from a variety of places. You may have a local haberdashery / fabric shop that stocks at least a few different colours than black and would be willing to order in others. These are great places to go and buy material / straps by the roll or by the metre. Take a selection of slide / clip fittings and you can make a whole range of different slings types for a fraction of the cost of the ‘custom’ ones. If you want something a bit more complex such as adding padded sleeves to the straps just ask at the counter and they will either offer a custom service or have local seamstresses that take custom work to make a sleeve from your choice of custom material from the shop Ask with enough volume to be heard around the shop and some of the customers could offer their skills (For the first event we ran the objective colour flags on pulleys came from the local fabric shop, I asked for something cheap and brightly coloured that could be cut up and tied to ropes. I was handed a few lengths of fabric pre cut to my rough sizing These were reused for many events - they will still be in my boxes of event kit) Something else to consider for padded / wide straps are guitar straps, you can use them as made or cut off the guitar ends to fit webbing strap fittings instead Take a look around your high street, or browse Amazon, Google, Ali express, Temu etc - you will be spoilt for choice https://amzn.eu/d/4V9G7PR https://amzn.eu/d/04uWeIA https://share.temu.com/RKz4Th6WuLA https://amzn.eu/d/ey0qcvC https://amzn.eu/d/0SGHJmu (Don’t feel obliged to go for 25mm, there is a wide variety - just remember to get complimenting sizes of straps & fittings - or don’t automatically use buckle clips etc, a loop of para cord does the job as well and can be the ideal fixing for some guns)

  17. I think you had/have two choices. The Launcher Tag Innovations made that fired them, because the projectiles are 36mm it would only shoot those and nothing else. Or any 40mm Launcher, combined with the Tag shells. You could load the projectiles into the shells and shoot like you would any other moscart type Launcher.

  20. Bolt actions generally aim for close to the site limit, which tends to be 2.3J (to keep well under the legal limit of 2.5J). That said, there is an argument to be made for a lighter pull and lower energy as you can only make effective use of the extra range if the gun is very consistent. Some people even have fun running bolt actions at regular rifle/pistol energy (1.13 - 1.2J, depending on site) so that they don't need to worry about minimum engagement distances. There's no wrong way to play, and given the cheap cost of springs compared to just about anything else in airsoft, I think it makes sense to try out a few to see what you prefer.

  24. Missed this. Tried turning the scope a touch? If the scope isn't perfect vertical to the rifle you'll get that and pull the rifle apart in the process trying to get it even more square than a square thing, all down to a scope slightly leaning. I naturally lean the scope into me so am constantly adjusting to vertical.

  27. I always take that claim with a pinch of salt regardless of who makes it. Just because the seller didn't fire it, that doesn't mean a QA technician in the factory, distributor, retailer, prospective customer in the shop, etc, didn't fire it to make sure the gun worked, do a test fire to see if they liked it or to see it was within legal limits for example. I assume it had been fired a few times before at some point between being manufactured and landing in the hands of the seller. At least 3 of my guns have test fire cards/sheets in the box so I know the "never fired" claim is untrue anyway.

    Which MP7?

Probably a bit old but here's our two cents. The WE SMG8 (MP7) is a bit of a dog. Its a very old platform that has a lot of potential issues. I bought mine second hand for dirt cheap and for good reason. Knowing what I was getting I researched it thoroughly. Here's some of the problems I encountered just getting it to perform OK: The mags aren't great, even new it barely holds enough gas for a full auto mag dump, they are fine on semi but for me, this was supposed to be a back up to my insane TM MWS DMR so full auto was kind of the point. the mags are also painted in cheap paint. they flake almost immediately, I bought a spare mag for £44 quid and that started pealing with in a few games. The bottom plates are also terrible, the only hack there is for this is electrical tape...... The latch for the stock is terrible and doesn't last long. The sheer kick of the gas blowback loosens it to the point where it doesn't keep the stock in place, expect to replace it. Expect a £15 quid replacement The stock pinholes on the inside will break, expect to buy a new plate - tbf, TM, VFC & WE have back plate problems in some way or another so it appears to be universal. You can get replacements but they are around £50 quid depending on where you go. Hop up rubbers are hard to find, i ended up cutting a 9 ball to make it fit as it didn't quite align properly. The quality of the metal on the extendable stock isn't great, they wear and bur easily. Don't use cheap BB's - I used some for testing and the bolt return is so strong it literally mashed them. These were .20's from Kinetic. I put .28s from rebel in there and they held up. There's a great review from french guy on Youtube who did a review after 1 year of owning one. Granted its a decade old but it resonated. All complaints above aside, it kicks like a mule and is terrifyingly loud. the price in comparison to the others is marginal so do yourself a favour and spend the extra 50 quid and get a better one. Hope this helps. The Dads @dadsdoairsoft

  29. You're correct, they're not allowed here, in fact anyone who's found to be repeatedly selling new stuff, say purchased cheaply on Aliexpress & then immediately posting it here at a higher price is quickly banned. That's not to say that members can't ask whatever they want for items, or claim they're "new", but they need to be aware that they'll usually be quickly outed on threads such as Macks, or even on their own sales ads in the comments section, as you've pointed out, technically nothing sold here can claim new status if it's not accompanied by a full warranty & all it entails. All we do ask is that if your going to post on someone else's ad, please be polite, be constructive & maybe share a valid link to show their price is overly optimistic. If their response is negative, feel free to rip the 💩 out of them on Macks 🤣.

  34. I just worked out what you were thinking then. m110 is about 360fps... on a .2, but I imagine the online power converter when you were running the numbers through that was doing 360fps on a .3, which would be 1.8J. This is not how springs work, so just assume the M rating is related to speed on .2s. The best way to work out which spring is best is... trial and error, honestly. Not all springs are created equally, and there are other factors that will go into the power at the end. An m150 spring is the most accurate for getting to the 2.3J limit on a .2, but it won't work in all builds with all BB weights as there are other things that go into it. When I put an m150 spring in my VSR setup it got me to 2.8J because of my setup, while my friend needed to put an m160 in his (it was shorter). I have another with a bore-up kit that I put an m135 spring in and it was 2.6J, so I reckon I might need to put an m120 in that one to get it below 2.32J. At least springs aren't expensive. I went through quite a few with my VSR builds finding the best ones for the builds I did.
    1 point
  35. Why were you expecting 1.8J from an M110 spring?
    1 point
  36. Part of the reason I love my bolt actions and DMRs. An MED is just an excuse to use my pistol more. I usually advise people looking for a pistol to go with an AEG to go with the mk23 purely because it gives them something that their AEG won't do for them (the capacity for silent kills). You will rarely, if ever, use your pistol for actual gunfighting since your rifle is just the better option and midcaps last a long time, so why not have a pistol that does something your rifle doesn't do. Squishy trigger isn't really an issue if all you're using it for is taking the occasional silent shot.

  37. Oh absolutely, and that's why i have many and always carry one in games, but the choice between spending £60 on a crap one and going without, i'd save the money.
    1 point
  38. They're not used much anyway unless you're carrying a DMR/sniper and have a minimum engagement distance. If you haven't needed one so far, you probably won't unless you change to DMR/sniper. Honestly you're better off saving the money. I take a pistol to every game and practically never use it.

  39. Well that's not true. AEP has ongoing costs in needing to charge batteries and the fact that rechargable batteries have finite charging cycles so they will need to be replaced in time. Consumables are part of play, some are just more overt than others. I don't even think AEP is worth it as a stop-gap "solution" because they're barely better than when I used one 20+ years ago. If anything, I'd say the gap between AEP and GBBP is greater now than it was back then. The other ongoing cost you perhaps haven't considered is depreciation. AEP is undesirable on the brand new market, even more so in the used market as the battery may be in poor charging health and getting spares may be a pain. If I can be so bold to speak for the other respondents, we're saying this because all of these criticisms of AEP are like cases where we've seen no shortage of people who despite advice given to them, they went ahead anyway and bought something they went on to really dislike and became more frustrated trying to resell it.

  40. I understand that the spring M rating refers to meters per second, firing .20 BB's in an AEG rifle. So I worked out using Code Red's converter that M110 spring should give you roughly 360fps and 1.2j? I have a M110 spring in the bolt rifle and when Chrono'd the weekend only got 1.2j with .30 BB's. I was expecting around 1.8j with this spring. Does the M rating only refer to AEG's or all Airsoft weapons? Have I screwed up my rifle or am I missing something? Thanks

  42. Sad news today chaps and chapettes. It is with great sadness and a heavy heart, I must report the end of my beloved MS2 sling clone. This is the very sling that started this whole thread. I never imagined it would grow to be so popular over the years. 31 pages, and 280k views! Thank you for 12 years of service. RIP Sling 😭😂
