Decent Sunday at Driverwood, huge numbers (120+ in the morning) which made the game play a touch static/reduced the scope for cunning tactical game play. A good morning nonetheless though, with no hit taking dramas that I spotted, and several memorable pistol charges conducted with the AAP. On the way out to the first game my foot managed to hook under a root, and I went down hard. The process of saving the L96 meant that it was a bit of a comical fall with my chest/face taking it all, completely unbroken by my arms... given the pain I'm still in, I'm guessing at least one rib is broken. But all's well that ends well - the L96 is unscathed, and I cracked on with the two games like an utter HERO3 points -

Someone could look towards it and believe it’s a real firearm up on the wall. But, as defined in section 38: 38Meaning of “realistic imitation firearm” (1)In sections 36 and 37 “realistic imitation firearm” means an imitation firearm which— (a)has an appearance that is so realistic as to make it indistinguishable, for all practical purposes, from a real firearm; and (b)is neither a de-activated firearm nor itself an antique. (2)For the purposes of this section, an imitation firearm is not (except by virtue of subsection (3)(b)) to be regarded as distinguishable from a real firearm for any practical purpose if it could be so distinguished only— (a)by an expert; (b)on a close examination; or (c)as a result of an attempt to load or to fire it. Someone could easily believe and report a moulded half dummy shell, but then (in my opinion not tested in court) it wouldn’t be ‘for all practical purposes’ ‘so realistic’ that it was ‘indistinguishable’ , and would not require ‘an expert’ to notice. ‘Close inspection’ could be interpreted, but I would differ ‘being a bit closer’ to ‘close examination’ A case would be required to interpret those key points if the circumstances came up - but another argument for the defence would be the title of the legislation - Violent Crime Reduction Act’ The intent of the legislation is to reduce violent crime, RIFs fall into the act with their potential to be used in a manner of threatening violence - so a lawyer would be expected to highlight the matter of their client waving a wooden panel around. An Act to make provision for reducing and dealing with the abuse of alcohol; to make provision about real and imitation firearms, about ammunition and about knives and other weapons; to amend the Football Spectators Act 1989 and the Football (Disorder) Act 2000; to amend the Sexual Offences Act 2003 and section 8 of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998; to amend section 23 of the Children and Young Persons Act 1969; to amend the Mobile Telephones (Re-programming) Act 2002; and for connected purposes.1 point

I finally managed to get back to South Herts Airsoft today. Arriving in the morning is when the only negatives happened, first I'd forgotten my BFG reloading tool and then I reaised I lwas almost out of green gas. Unfortunately so was the on site shop. This wasn't so much of a problem though as with the low temperature, and the site being woodland, I wasn't expecting to use the pistol or shotgun much. Numbers were low at just under 20 people, but with it being a small site this wasn't a problem as I could choose whether I wanted to go loud or try some sneaky shenanigans. We played a variety of games including capture the flag (including one version with a twist where a third team with limited lives started defending the flag), king of the hill, escort the VIP and others. Gameplay was excellent with nobody complaining about hit taking or overkill, just happy faces around. The way airsoft should be. If you're near Hertfordshire I definitely recommend paying them a visit1 point -

Anyone used the Co2 box mag for VFC M249?
seanieglasgow reacted to Nick G for a topic
Not my experience of it . The CO2 box mag is very good , I find I go through much more ammo than with the green gas mag as longer bursts are not a problem for it and the 249 properly rocks along on CO2. That said, there are a couple of issues that we have come across. First the size capsules the mag is designed to use are not easily available in the UK, most of us are running 88g capsules, but that does require modding the mag as they are longer. We have also had a couple of occurances of the hose failing, although it's any easy fix. Have a read through the VFC M249 thread in the gas section. They can be converted to hpa and then use an aeg mag, but for most of us that spoiles a big part of going GBBR, mag changes , limited ammo , not looking like a ghostbuster , if you want to spray and pray go hpa. Horses for courses , but the CO2 mag is worthwhile for winter use. I used the Green gas one all summer without any issues .1 point -

Yup bud, the SRC - it's just a TM clone with a metal slide & support for CO2 mags. It's really fun to shoot but the QC is a little iffy because the second one I got in for a friend doesn't reliably lock back (and the co2 mag's threads are made of cheese and got fucked the first time I tried putting a bulb in, so I just bought him a gas mag because I felt bad) I tried to return it but the retailer went 'nope it's your fault' because of the mag (which was my fault tbh) even though there's something actually wrong with the slide catch getting stuck and not locking back, so just be a little precious with it just in case you lose the QC lottery so you can return it properly lol Currently waiting on a H/I key & ML barrel to be back in stock on empire and I'll pop that in to see if it's a little more performant - the USP9 unfortunately doesn't get much love with regards to aftermarket and finding any info on them is a pain in the ass (which is why my poor VFC lays broken in a pistol case, zero info online about it apart from retailer listings of them)1 point -

MP5k Boneyard - Trigger Release Question
Rogerborg reacted to ruskitseller for a topic
Hi I bought an MP5k boneyard off here - I am not entirely sure of what the make is upon receiving it as it has a Chaoli motor so I don't think its a TM, but probably a galaxy clone. The mag release button has snapped off. Here is what it looks like: The issue is finding the replacement seems impossible. Mags will not stay in it. I stripped it down a bit more and the mag lever snapped off too. I may be able to get a CYMA replacement for that bit thus: But the actual button part mag release button, I cannot find one anywhere, other than an ICS MP5 one from Firesupport. I have messaged Frank to see if it will be compatible (but I doubt it). JG used to make what I need: But they are out of stock everywhere. The lower receiver seems to be new and the upper receiver seems old. I think the Lower is an aftermarket part (or vice versa lol) - and that is why the mag release button and lever that was installed in it probably snapped off as the mechanisms were VERY stiff to push. It seemed like the parts were not compatible which led to it breaking off in the first place. My question is - will the mag lever function without the button and by just installing the Cyma mag release lever part? Any help or advice appreciated. Thanks.0 points
