Absolute magic feedback guys, thanks. I'm completely sold, going ahead with the Christmas present with the plan of going to Edinburgh Action Air Club and Area 66 as the guys have advised above, then progressing into full matches when he's old enough. His gran has also given him the green light to put as many targets in her garden as he wants. We just visited Land Warrior Sports for a wee look and just wanted to ransack the place 😀 Yeah and there's no way in hell I'll be gifting him a two-tone 🤢 Obviously, I have to get one as well 😄3 points

Definitely. Reason I asked if you played was: 1. If you get three games under your belt at your nearest site, you'll have your ukara, so you won't have to buy, & then gift, your son an abomination two-tone, he'll love his dad even more if he's got an all black rifle, cos don't forget....... 2. Get to know your local site, including the staff & owner, once they see you are a sensible, responsible player, it'll make broaching the subject of your son coming along to play much easier. i pretty much started out playing at a number of sites all run by one guy, who I got to know quite well, as long with his staff, so when I approached him to ask whether my son could try a gameday, as well as a friends kid (the friend was also a regular player), he had no problem allowing it, on the understanding that the boys had to stick with us all day, & we were expected to ensure the safety aspects were drilled in to them. My son was 9 (I think ?), the other lad was probably 8, & both had a great day with no issues. My son just turned 27, is a dad himself, & still plays when he gets a chance, along with his gf. Area 66 near Kirkintilloch do kids only games, check them out on FB or their website for details. I've inly been once but is a well laid out site & was well managed when I was there.3 points -
Man I thought I had a problem with MP5 addictions, some of y'all are shoiwing me up! MP5s are undeniably the coolest looking gun ever made and anyone who says otherwise is just lying to themselves in a mixture of jealousy and denial. And the only thing an MP5 needs to look gucci as all fuck is the surefire flashlight handguard. Or the SD front end. Less is more!3 points

I do wonder if most sellers realise that, unless you happen to align on a very specific niche set of aesthetics, to most buyers a custom paint job or engraving is the same as having a gun with damaged externals.3 points -

My GBB pistols, nothing special. 18c, 19G5, 42 and USP Compact. All are Umarex. The 42 has an awful trigger. I'll see if i can do something to improve it. Also not fond of the flared mag well on the 19G5, should've got a G3/4 instead, i just like the front serrations on the slide. What brand is it? I have a Umarex USP in 4.5mm and it's by far the nicest replica i've handled, the feel and weight is just right. On that basis i bought a Umarex USP Compact airsoft gun and it's very nice, but not quite as nice as its big brother. Part of me is keen to get a full-size USP airsoft gun.2 points -

I’d guess that most sites wouldn’t have an issue if you arrived on a game day and explained the situation, and asked if you could use the target range when it was free/available. Also in Edinburgh is “Edinburgh Action Air Club” An indoor organised event using Attack Sense electronic reactive targets That would probably be my go to for him, as it’s indoors with nobody shooting back at him to allow him to get use and a feel for a replica (run at Edinburgh College - Sighthill) Find the group on FB 👍2 points -

https://www.airsoft-hub.com/item/34709-mk23-sokom-with-supressor £90 + delivery for a two-tone where not only is the brand new RIF £70 + delivery, he helps us out by saying where he bought it. https://jdairsoft.net/asg-mk23-stealth-assassin Does he want the buyer to cover the cost of the two-tone he paid for but has since been scuffed/partly flaked off? Shop around a little more and you can get the ASG MK 23 for even less. https://bbguns4less.co.uk/products/asg-mk23-special-operations-nbb-airsoft-pistol-in-black.html2 points

Can’t say I’ve seen that on any of mine so far, but things to check: Piston head: make sure it’s not damaged/deteriorating. May be the issue with gas leaking behind it so it’s getting excessive cooldown and only doing a few “full power” shots. Make sure the pins on rear of bolt are not backing out and slowing the bolt travel. Had this on one of mine when full-autoing. Also chewed my trigger bar with this… Double check your hammer isn’t broken at the shaft. May look ok when in the gun, but you can only really tell when you take it out and it’s in 2 pieces instead of 1. As for the hop, it’s either been reassembled incorrectly, or is missing the tiny little bb that applies pressure to hop rubber. KWA hops are somewhat… fiddly. I’d recommend getting a TNT retrofit kit for the MP9, drop in and you can hop a .4 and more…1 point

A solid plan. I'd echo the recommendation for Area 66, it's a friendly and well run site, with good facilities and a decent access road and parking - the significance of this will become instantly apparently if you try Section 8 or Players of War instead. They do rental package if you don't want to make a big investment until you've tried it. If you go ahead and buy yourself before you try, the only other thing you'll need is eye and face protection. They'll want to see a single piece full face mask on your son, i.e. a paintball style mask like a Dye, or Valken MI-7. You'll only need eye protection.1 point

The Depot at port Glasgow has started some sort of target shooting day maybe worth looking into. Can't say for other sites but I know Section 8 the min age is 12 and the minor player must always be with in sight of their guardian and a full face mask is mandatory. With contacting site you will be better off emailing most airsoft sites are run as part time gigs and are generally one man shows.1 point

WADSN X300U arrived today alongside a CO2 mag with the cool baseplates, so I took a few neat pictures. Just need to cough up the pennies to send the slide & frame off to West Laser to get engraved and cerakoted and it'll be pretty much done aethestics-wise.1 point -

UK game legal GBB MP9. Comes with 5 air tight magazines. Sight Mock B&T MP9 suppressor Happy to provide more pictures and videos. I am after a change. It's been well looked after and serviced. Always under filled the magazines by 2 BBs to ensure no feed issues. Locks back on empty and always got to the end of the mag when I used it. If you want to trade areas are up north- Manchester to York. I am interested in TM pistols and Sig m18/m17 and Xcarry. But honestly if it interest me then let's do it.£300
