Importing Airsoft gun (IF) into UK
TacticalWaifu and one other reacted to Tommikka for a topic
It needs to be: UK legal on the power (joules …. But measured via velocity FPS and BB weight) Then either an IF or a RiF with a defence IF = over 50% of the body in one of the appointed bright colours RIF = you need to be recognised that your purpose on import is for it to be used for airsoft skirmishing They expect UKARA, but you may or may not get through via your current status2 points -
Importing Airsoft gun (IF) into UK
TacticalWaifu reacted to MatchaMarco for a topic
Hi, I am recently considering building a two tone hi capa in Hong Kong and importing it into the uk. Since I play IPSC action air and am not interested in Airsoft skirmishes, I am not interested in attaining the UKARA membership. I would like to know if I build my hi capa as a imitation firearm, not a RIF, is there any declaration need to be made to border customs to import such gun? is there any restrictions regarding the importation of an IF into UK? Do I still need a UKARA membership in order to import the two tone gun?Can I import it by my own(e.g. in my luggage when I enter the UK, completely disassembled) or do I have to find a importer company to do it for me? Thanks1 point -

OY, & me, & it's worse than you think, at a guess I reckon I've done 15-20 today, every time I had a peek (which was a lot, it's obsessive like bubble wrap lol 🤣), there'd be another 3 just joined, some of them had been on 5 minutes & managed to get 8 posts up in that time ffs.1 point

Never really gave speedsofters much thought, in all honesty I don't think I've encountered more than a couple over the years, but been playing a bit of CoD lately, these motherfuckers that go through doorways & round corners jumping around like skippy the feckin bush kangaroo are really pissing me off🤬, I guess they're the digital version of a speedsofter, so now I hate them too🖕1 point

Definatley …… and is a headache for the UKPSF I have a couple of Umarex pistols myself, which are variants of the home defence types but they are UK legal and are used with paintballs not dodgy projectiles (purchased from reputable UK paintball retailers as opposed to grey imports) These things are bringing the attention of VCRA/RIFs to paintball again, and we’re relying on a good Home Office / police relationship with the UKPSF Read the letter of the law and I do have pre 2007 paintball RIFs of which possession is fine, plus post 2007 RIFs which could technically be a problem to retailers who sold them to me (and private sellers) These are known issues which the UKPSF highlights & looks to protect the game1 point

Facts. Better springs hold their strength for longer (like the nice Japanese steel ones that @ak2m4 is selling now under his XT brand - plug, plug) and yes, springs can lose their oomph over time especially if they're held in compression, but it really isn't noticeable over a day. Yep. Physics, innit. So...you operated a machine incorrectly and it broke. Sound about right?1 point

In terms of numbers my local sites are still going strong. As for the case of changing styles of play? Trends come and go. Yes, speedsofters have pretty much taken over any and all indoor sites, so go outdoors there's a lot less of them there. Granted CQB is where I started off (ahhh...The Mall....good times) but it was always the same - some that were happy to follow a bang through a door way and a bunch of wusses gagglefucking outside. Captain Teamkill shouting from the back to "move up" and going nowhere himself. Pretty much all that's changed is the guns have got shorter and there's more kids in lycra. Before AEGs were a thing ALL guns had hoses on them. HPA is nothing new and I doubt it's going away, finding a responsible site that polices its players is the way to change things though, not broad brushing the whole crowd as cheaters. There were just as many bad sportsmen before the tanks and airlines resurfaced.1 point

Collection seized by court order - In the news
TacticalWaifu reacted to Rogerborg for a topic
Yup, sounds like he was banged to rights, and this was (in Scotchland especially) probably the least bad outcome. As per the previous thread, these T4Es are sold as "made for real-life training, drills, practice, and even less-than-lethal self-defense" (sic). They call them "markers", and they can (ostensibly) shoot paintballs as well as rubber (or conceivably harder) balls, but that's not how they're marketing them. It seems that Euan got snitched over these guns specifically, so I'd wonder if he flexed about their ned-stopping power to the wrong person. This looks to be more of a problem for paintball than airsoft now.1 point -

I wonder if this was the guy that was on here recently asking for advice on a very similar sounding situation?1 point -
Hello. Just thought I'd post in this topic just to clear up a couple of comments here. The meeting that has been previously announced here that is being held on the 22nd of this month is not an AGM, it is an emergency management meeting, which is being held to replace myself as chairman, as I'm resigning. Once that emergency meeting has occurred, and a new chairperson elected, we will begin the process of organising, and notifying our members about an upcoming AGM. I won't go into details in full as to why I'm resigning on here (as I'll leave that to a press release to be done at a later date) but essentially dealing with the absolute mess that was the Coronavirus regulations pretty much made me want to pack airsoft in all together (and I want to enjoy airsoft once again) I thank you for your interest in UKAPU and I hope to possibly see you at the AGM, whenever that may be!1 point

Although we've seen people being required to complete firearms declarations even for parts. But you'll still be fine, it might just take a bit more time.1 point -
