It's certainly not the worst take on Rhodesian baby poop I've ever seen.

My 3 year old painted that red dot if you’ve not been sad enough to scroll that back far through my posts 😊

Kid Glock there?  No, I was barely aware of his existence, and now he's on the "shush" list.  Lucky guess, I guess.

Truth to tell, I actually agree.  I run irons (or foam) on sniper sidearms and for LARPing, but reticules all the way if I actually want to hit something.  Even in CQB I run a cheap reflex on my MP5K.

    Just not... this cheap.

I saw those come up on "cheapest first" (it's a cultural imperative) and was wondering if they really were what they looked like: a cross painted on a bit of perspex.  I do like that they've gone to the bother of faking a battery compartment and laser tail end on it.

It occurs that you could make something exactly as useful from a sight protector and a felt tip pen.

Friends and myself used irons for 3+ years without an issue, both in CQB and large open areas. Only reason we really got optics was to help in the really dark areas of our local cqb. We've done some  home made 'drills' (in quotes because they were more for cheap fun than to get more opscherater) with one very similar to the presidente one (going from google description) and didn't really have any issues with hitting a5 targets. But then I'll always advocate iron sights because I think they look very cool indeed

    Apocalypse paintball in Cambridgeshire.

I think the reason it was mostly crap is the place is 80% paintball with a couple of airsoft games here and there so the focus is not on airsoft which I understand to some degree, but if your going to do something as a business, make it work, very frustrating from a paying players point of view.
Seems to be the theme for sites who run airsoft when its not their main focus, with a couple of exceptions to be fair but will certainly try to avoid sites like this in the future or do more research on them first.

Had a cracking day at Ambush Airsoft in Cobham.
This is fast becoming my go to local site with plenty of fast paced gameplay and minimal time spent back in the safe zone.

Its a mid sized woodland site with 5 main game zones (village, bridge, bus, fort and church) and the beginnings of a decent trench system currently in the works.
Gameplay is mostly outdoors with some small scale CQB in the village with the church and fort being good sized two storey structures.

Plenty of pyro and smoke at the site based shop and trust me it is well used 😁
Seem to be a good mix of regulars, experienced walk ons and rentals and one of the friendliest sites I’ve played at with very little in the way of cheaters, non hot takers or other nonsense that can ruin a day.

All in all I shot some people, got shot a lot more, got grenaded several times and ran around in bright coloured smoke like a loon!
No one took themselves too seriously but both teams were definitely trying for the win throughout the day and I can’t ask for more than that for a fun Sunday skirmish!

The lad and I spent today at Airsoft Plantation; it was my third visit and his first.

It was very busy; 250 players turned up, which raised some concerns about how the site would cope with such numbers.  It is a big site, but that is a lot of players!

However, it worked really well; the site did not feel crowded and there was still plenty of room for flanking manoeuvres and lots of little individual combats.  The games were well thought out, challenging for both sides, and interesting.  Hit taking seemed pretty much spot on and the games flowed well.

Credit must go to the marshals for making the day work so well and to the other players, especially the poor chap who fell in the pond and then had to go back in to rescue his rifle.

    Hello there!

I got into airsoft as a teenager and haven't played or used any of this kit in just under ten years. It has been kept dry and away from sunlight and is all exactly in the condition that I put it away in, which I'm quite happy about.

Looking to get some opinions on how much this is all worth second-hand (and third-hand), it seems like this sort of stuff is a little harder to find outside of Soldier of Fortune than when I bought it.
If you know anything about any of these individual items at all, please let me know! All information is welcome.

    List of all pictured:
1937 British Battle Dress Jacket, small, with Oxf. & Bucks Airborne Glider Regiment Patches. British Gas Mask & filter, dated 1944. (Worn only once, before I found out the filters contain asbestos 😅) British Gas Mask Bag, stamped 'H&S 1/44'. 1941/42/44 combo British Battle Webbing with two pouches, water bottle and backpack with backpack straps. Backpack is a reproduction, pouches and bottle are I think actual surplus but don't take my word for it. Also an extra webbing shoulder strap, not pictured. Webbing is not blanco'd. Belt is labelled 'X-Large' but is extremely adjustable and also fits me perfectly at a small. Map case 1942 or 1944, but no clue as to the authenticity since the item it isn't dated. Two pairs of bef gaiters, one pair sized '3' and one pair sized '5'. Make of that what you will. Both in good condition, size 5s are more worn. MK2 Tommy helmet, with webbing and hessian camo strips. Very good condition. Not sure on the size, but it's certainly too small for my big head. Again unsure on if surplus or repro. MK2 Para helmet with canvas chinstrap, very used condition, reproduction.
One of the pouches, the Mk2 Para helmet and the map case are all marked by previous owners as pictured.

Again all information is welcome! I'm leaving the country quite soon so I'm also looking to get rid of this stuff for the right buyer.
    Cheers!

Absolute hoot using it like that. I run .30's in mine and am very impressed with the performance out of the box . 2 or 3 mags and a speed loader and you're good to go !

Most of the internals are vsr based. It's worth joining the S&T SMLE owners group on facebook. There are one or two on there that have pushed the power levels up. Most of us seem to use it as a combat rifle without having to worry about MED which is alot of fun.

Pics are starting to come in from Op Stonebreaker this past weekend. The AO is an old nuclear power plant now used for training and the occasional MilSim. I was running a hybrid AT/LMG role.

My airsoft day has gone very badly.

I got all my kit together over the last few days, including rebuilding my F2000 with a new 14 tooth piston, and it seemed to be shooting pretty well, so I had 5 guns to take for the day.  New set of Lonex flash mags in my mag pouches.  And I woke up this morning to sunshine.  Marvelous!

Drove to the site to be greated with an empty car park and not a sign of life.  Did I turn up a day early?  Nope, it's been cancelled and I'd missed the email 😬🙁😂

The local council has blocked use of the woods for airsoft.  Bastards!  I need to pew pew!

Hubris, over-familiarity and assumptions really messed me up yesterday.

So many glowing reviews of Airsoft Plantation on here I figured being a long weekend I'd have to try.  Not needing to book is nice in a way but should be accounted for in the game types better from what I saw, various areas are only linked by a few narrow gaps through hedges that you'd probably be injured by if you tried to push through.  The last game that was supposed to be turned around just wasn't because us on the red team held back the attacking side so long.

That aside, personally I screwed myself because I didn't actually bother to spend 30 seconds test firing my guns before packing them as they were working a few months ago when I last played, but some-fuckin-how my ACR sounds like it's stripped its' piston while sat in storage.  It is the old PTS which is OEM by Ares though so if I left it compressed I guess the cheese gave way.  My L85 (pictured) probably hasn't seen a game for pushing 6-7 years; the 345 FPS and high hop combined with me using up my .2s and a new optic was a recipe for shooting almost vertical - could not aim low enough to participate in the game and the hop dial kept spinning infinitely, which again I'm sure was fine when I put it away last.  It was looking like I'd have spent my cash and fuel for nothing and would be heading home about 1030 as I didn't even bring a pistol.  Obviously you don't quit til' all options are exhausted, so I took the bullpup apart, literally just looked and prodded a bit, looked down the barrel while adjusting the hop, reassembled carefully, adjusted the elevation zero as far as possible and in the end only missed maybe 45 minutes worth of play and the gun was running great after that.  I've been bringing 2 long guns to games pretty much since I started and I couldn't believe it when I was facing the prospect of driving an hour back home before lunch frankly, stunned.  That's life kicking me in the butt for being at this too long and getting lax, you can't let it happen as a walk-on.

Anyway, mini review.  Price is good (£25), main guy running it is excellent, tons of covered benches in the SZ, gents are not bad and actually had hand soap and paper towels, I think the water was drinkable but brought plenty.  Burger van isn't bad at all, about £5.50 for chicken+bacon and some crisps since they don't do chips, quality middling but absolutely fine and they take card.

Was slightly taken aback they site doesn't do card at this point, but then they'd have to put the price up in fairness, just wish this was made obvious on their website (unless I'm a total blind bat).  We did start the safety brief almost 25 minutes late which frankly I was not impressed by, but the rule set seems decent overall, apart from perhaps the 'gas' (smoke) grenade thing which is weird.  They say they spot chrono all the time but I didn't witness that, what I did witness was 2 marshals having their own little mini game within the game, also disappointing.  I personally enjoy the fact of just leaving 2 chronos just outside the SZ for me to use myself, it's a pure honour game and on the one hand people can always modify and break energy rules, but if there's no morning chrono and rare (if any) spot checks I do have some small concerns.

Considering how many were in attendance, a 97% well behaved bunch it would have to be said, seems a good place for that.  There we a couple of kids and dragged-along girlfriends playing who seemed happy and content when I saw them which is a strong indicator.  I think the game types sometimes made poor use of a very large site and I think they've bitten off more than they can chew in terms of areas/props as everything I saw was falling apart and full of rubbish.  I wouldn't go back without a DMR/BASR either purely as those guys dominated given the layout, and it's a bit far for me to regularly travel given the layout doesn't lend to the closer in battles I like.  If you want 'woodland' type ranges but with more features and lots of players though, absolutely, give a game a try.
