  1. Start with an electric gun. Don't worry about a pistol straight away.
  2. It is probably best to avoid 8mm bb's. The issue is simply that everything is standardised for 6mm so you will have issues getting ammo, sites will have trouble working out safe power limits for your gun etc. Incidentally Ares do a 6mm Cheytec M200. Whether it's any good I cannot say, many Ares guns have poor quality control.
  3. How about: P1904 cavalry bandolier Khaki drill service dress from whatprice glory Wolseley Pith helmet For the WW1 Camel corps look.
  4. Currently not working, but once I have a job I have plans to try a few things to fix it. This is Matilda my SMLE by Ironairsoft. It may not be the best sniper rifle available but it is by far the sexiest looking. It's gas powered and strips and functions like the real thing. The gas release valve on the mag blew up and they are discontinued so I cannot get parts but I will come up with something. I could either make a new magazine using different valves or maybe come up with some way of using small pistol mags. Oh and it can be fitted with an 18 inch long P1907 bayonet

  6. http://www.wolfarmouries.co.uk/airsoft/bb/product.asp?page=product&id=VSR10TM Took me less than a minute to find one in stock in the UK. Did you even try google?
  7. After finding a guide to correct insignia locations for my Aussie service dress, I moved everything around to be spot on. This left a gap between the rank stripes and unit colour patch. I was feeling in need of a pick me up so for a small expenditure I added a marksmanship qualification. £8 from soldier of fortune. I know some people say you shouldn't wear it unless you earned it but since the brass badge has not been used since 1943 (earlier in the UK), I feel there is no risk of anyone thinking I earned it. It's a nice little bit of bling and when doing re-enactment it helps emphasise the different starting ability with firearms between British and Australian recruits in WW2. Most British troops would have never held a gun before, most Australians would have been using them from a young age. It's therefore logical that many Aussies would have been able to pass the marksmanship qualification very easily.
  8. The Law looks at your reason for owning each type of gun separately. If you have a firearms license, you still need a shotgun licence to get a shotgun. In the same way, RIF's are considered a separate issue to firearms. If you are a target shooter or clay pigeon shooter, that doesn't mean you have a valid reason to buy an airsoft gun.
  9. Webbing comes in many varieties so it's possible to have pouches where you want them. The main difference is that you may have many mags in one pouch rather than individual pouches for each mag. Vests are either molle front and back like plate carriers but larger or have fixed pouches. There are also belt rigs, chest rigs (like a vest but front only) and drop leg pouches. At the end of the day, like everything in airsoft, the important things are what you find comfortable and what you think looks cool. For me, P37 webbing just does the job the way I want it. On a hot day P37 webbing with jungle greens keeps me cool and a slouch hat keeps the sun out of my eyes, on a cold wet day Aussie service dress is merino wool so it keeps me warm and dry and a slouch hat keeps the rain out of my eyes. Just because it works for me, I don't expect it to catch on. Incidentally the service dress has lots of big pockets, you cannot use pockets as easily with vests and plate carriers as you can with webbing.
  10. I like my webbing. It's considered a bit old fashioned these days but webbing is cooler in the summer and can carry just as much gear. I tend to use P37 webbing as I have WW2 British and Australian loadouts but there are many other types available. PLCE is probably the most modern and should be quite cheap. I like the P37 as it has 2 big pouches on your chest and 1 pouch will hold 6 Sten mags. Most other webbing will have pouches on your belt and a yolk to hold it in place. A molle belt will work in the same way. You don't have the problem of not feeling hits so much with any webbing or belt options. They also don't act as an additional layer of clothing that you don't want during the summer months.
  11. The only downside is they will occasionally spew all the bb's out (as the AGM mags do).
  12. If it's the same problem I had, then the issue is with the catch that keeps the bb's in. It is chisel shaped but sticks out too far so when you insert the mag the hop unit hits the bit that's not angled. I cut tiny bits of plastic from the numbers on the sprue of an airfix kit and glued them in between the catch and mag body so the catch doesn't stick out so far. the white bit is the added plastic and can be glued to either the catch or the mag body.
  13. I always carry spare ammo but have never been asked for any. I feel left out now
  14. A hat works very well to protect from hits to the head. A boonie hat will offer some protection for the ears, helmets don't tend to be as good for this. Also a boonie hat is better for hiding as it breaks up your outline more.
  15. Maybe invest in some waterproof socks? http://www.amazon.co.uk/450/dp/B00IB63RVO/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1440502455&sr=8-6&keywords=waterproof+socks
  16. Can't guarentee compatibility but this looks the same shape so may work: http://www.patrolbase.co.uk/gas-and-co2-pistol-magazines/we-europe-m92-magazine-black.htm#.Vdrs2CVViko
  17. I am guessing zero one forums? Shooting someone in the face full auto at point blank is not only a dick move, it's dangerous. If the head is all you can hit then it's fair game, but if you are close and you have a choice, always aim lower. Emptying a mag full auto into someones arse is safer and way funnier
  18. I usually go for the knife kill if I'm that close. No-one ever argues with a foot and a half long blade painted to look real (P1908 bayonet=they don't like it up 'em). If you have to shoot someone close up, aim for somewhere less vital, never the head.
  19. If you have the drop on someone and would be able to shoot them point blank, give them a chance to just accept that they are dead. Either a tap on the shoulder with a hand or melee weapon or a bang rule if that's something your site does. The stairs thing is pretty simple. If you shoot down at someone you will hit them in the head at short range and that will hurt a lot. Don't start complaining loudly about other players. If someone isn't taking hits, tell a marshall so they can watch that player. There may be a reason for it (your gun isn't as good as you think it is, the other player may be wearing too much clothing to feel the hits etc.)
  20. I would suggest switching to .25's. The extra reach it will give you for very little extra cash is worth it. I only ever use .2s for chronoing. Above .25's bb's start going up in price so I leave anything heavier for the snipers.
  21. I just got a job, finally! I should be back to shooting people soon.

soz when you said double your last wage I thought it was something dodgy

      well done again sir

  22. Camo patterns usually have little impact in airsoft and plain brown or green tend to work almost as well. I would however avoid too much black, I find black very easy to spot.
  23. Nazi zombie loadout however would be totally cool
  24. Just No. SS uniforms are offensive in the wrong situations. An SS officer impression would not be welcomed even in WW2 airsoft for 2 reasons: Officers are part of the organisation of the game and SS impressions are only useful when the specific scenario is one where SS units would be present. A standard german uniform would be perfectly acceptable. If you want something different then Fallschirmjager or Gebirgsjager are quite cool.
