I still wear army surplus DPM camo trousers that cost £10, ubacs from E-bay that was £20. for your first set up I dont see the point in paying more than that. I still have not replaced my kit simply because it works.

Hi Mate look for a guy who is in a Ford S-max people carrier & has two short arse kids with him. that will be me, come and say hi & I will introduce you around. its a friendly site and everyone is always welcoming towards noobs. Its always better to have a few contacts so it doesn't feel so intimidating. I will have "Fumps" on a few patches on my kit so don't be shy. The site has a basic shop so water, pop and chocolate bars are pretty cheap & you will get dinner as part of the cost of play which is usually something like a burger. If you need to ask anything about the site etc just ask mate, I go pretty much every month so I should be able to help in one way or another. if I can help in anyway just get in touch By the way welcome to airsoft.

I would have thought, Passport, drivers licence & utility bills would be enough. If your on the electoral register this will also confirm your ID (I'm assuming UKARA are still using the ID older verification system), this should be adequate as this is all you need to gain a loan or open a bank account so that should be more than enough.

Although I get why people would go to an Airsoft show, I'm not a great fan of these events myself. To me its the same as my other hobbies (Mountain bilking & Bass guitar) I would only go to an event like this if I was looking for something new to buy, but as I'm not looking for a next large purchase I really would be wasting my own time. This is not being negative about the event, I'm just voicing my own opinion about shows like this

I wear a ubacs & plate carrier, after a few mins of running I'm red hot. No matter how cold it is

Always used blasters, simply because I've never had an issue with them.

The LR-300 has had a little tweak. now has a AR-15 carry handle but will now be looking at adding a small red dot to it. My New We T-Rex 1911 variant, I'm now happy with my set up. doubt I will change this set up now as it all works exactly as I want it to

If I can only see their head I go for it, although If they are not wearing a helmet I do feel guilty afterwards. But if no other target is available thats all you can really go for

I hate necroposting for no reason

I just see kit as a small part of the fun. If you notice its there, then its not doing its job properly & will get sold & replaced with something that does work. Its the same as a RIF. If its a faff then its not doing its job properly. I'm not a gun nut nor a military kit perv. I just like having a laugh & meeting other people with the same sense of fun and sense of humour. the rest is just details to me.

its strange but I never notice the mesh at all. All I see is the same as looking through sunglasses.

Taken a few direct hits with my eye pro, nothing gets through them. not sure what your point is.......... but there you go

Simple speak to them. Explain to them that although this is a simulation of military conflict, at the heart of it, its still just a game which has a great and friendly social circle. Don't try to change their minds but try and get them to look at it in a different way, for instance its just a game and no one actually gets hurt, its not in anyway violent there are strict rules on any kind of physical or verbal confrontation. try to make clear to them that they are focusing on the negative connotations of what the hobby looks like and show them what it actually is. Airsoft is much less violent than football, rugby, squash, or even hockey, All of which I've played and ended up with worse bruises & witnessed much more aggression in these sports, which is usually allowed to continue during play. We often act nervous about airsoft because of the gun thing but lets be honest at the end of the day, its basically a high end toy but this is not seen because people automatically think Airsoft is based on violence when it really isn't. For instance my other half hates anything to do with the military and despises guns of any kind, but she see's that Airsoft is a fun pass time and totally gets the social aspect is great fun. She understands that the people involved are big kids who just want to have a day out having a laugh....nothing more. Because she understands the hobby as a silly day out playing army in the woods, she accepts it and has even fired my rifs. Just try to show your parents that its just a daft game where people get out, make new friends and get some exercise which is a lot more healthy than some of the stuff you could be getting up to sat in your room on the internet. I for instance hate real guns, the idea of gun ownership freaks me out, but like I often say, "I'm an Airsoft nut, not a gun nut" and try to show them that although Airsoft looks violent, you cant judge anything by looks alone, that's a flawed way of looking at anything. I hope this helps mate

Heroshark is worth every penny you pay both me & my son has a pair. never looked back

My son got me into Airsoft & we always go together as a father/son day out. my son has been playing for a while now & is about to turn 13. He has racked up just as many kills as me & I see him as an equal in a player sense. We have been at days where kids show up who are the same age as my son & we have watched and laughed as we see them cheat their way through games (the same as some of the Gucci wearing kit-perverts) some kids will be kids but that's people for you they are all different and I never judge anyone until I know them, we cant always generalise. I often get asked by other players "What do we do with your young one? can we shoot him or do we go easy?" my response is always the same "If you get a chance to shoot him, take it, he wont hesitate shooting you" my son has been lit up loads of times now (Even taking a close up hit to his forehead which bled a fair bit) but he takes his shots like a trooper. Kids are the future of the pass time and should be encouraged to play in my mind. In January I'm taking a few of my sons school friends as they are desperate to start playing, so I'm looking forward to seeing how they do & watch that grin when they get into their first fire fight. Airsoft is a game played by people who are (at the root of it) big kids, its all fun and no one should be unwelcome.

Run into a tree because my eye pro had fogged up & ended up half hanging from my helmet straps like a rag doll. Hurt lots but was very funny

I'm a little jealous of anyone who owns an MP7 they make me moist Wish I could justify owning one

Much sense being spoken here, I found the grip at a bargain price & took a risk. Luckily it was fine for me but the LR-300 is a rare beast, it isnt great on my sons magpul M4 A set up on a rif & loadout is the same as a Mountain bike, its totally set up for you & to everyone else it may seem odd or uncomfortable

Yep sounds familiar mate. I'm 39 and used to box as a younger me. I also made a few bad decisions in my life and sustained a fair few injuries to my mouth (Sovereign rings are not good for the teeth I found out one friday night). I'm now in the same boat as you, I dont think I have a tooth in my head that does not have a crack or hole in it. I have a fight reaction to fear so dentist's are a real problem for me lol I have spent years taking 400mg Ibuprofen/Paracetamol combinations to manage pain & suffering that I go through.

Mr Trigger happy is correct. I have one of these, it works for me because on my LR-300 my hand lands in that angle but I doubt it would work well on many other guns. its very nice but it does have its flaws
